Full Credit to Dravid for Sehwag's Career
by Kiran Kumar on Dec 05, 2009 02:01 AM  | Hide replies

I would say full credit should go to Dravid who showed so much faith in sehwag when he was failing and retained him in the team....sehwag was criticised by everyone still Dravid continued keeping him in the team until he was the captain...

Sehwag was in wilderness during Dravid's captaincy. Dravid useless fellow never backed anyone. Dont think that people are fools. Full credit to Ganguly for backing Sehwag at all costs.

Atrocious. Sewagh was woefully out of form during dravid's time. Yet Dravid said that it is just a matter of one innings and Sewhag will be back in his form. He had immense faith in Sewhag. While fans like you were abusing Sehwag, Dravid was the only man who backed him.

The bane of INdian cricket is fans like you, fools!

Regionalism lies in your blood buddy. I am not saying Nayak is right but you need to look at yourself first

Mr. on, Can you openly condemn Mr. Nayak who started regionalism against Tamils? Then you preach to others. Dont pretend to be neutral when you cant do that. There is no wonder you people are having so much hatred towards Tamils who are most humble people. If you know any north Indian living in Tamilnadu ask him about Tamils. Dont spit poison against one of the most cultured people.

Mr. Nayak, your comments does not make any sense other than abusing me. Are you using your 6th sense to understand what I said in my comments. Sehwag was out of the team during Dravid's captaincy, that is a fact. Don't live in fools paradise and bring regionalism. Dont do personal attacks in common forums. Mind your words.

You too do not ahve any memory Mr. Samanta. If Dravid backed-up somebody in the INdian team, it was Sehwag. Ofcourse, he had admiration for Kumble, who is from his own state, and then he groomed Sreeshant, despite all his (sree's)problem.

He has scored 36 50s
out of which 17 100s
out of which 12 150s
out of which 06 200s
out of which 04 250s
out of which 02 300s

What a player !!!
only bradman has more 250s
only bradman has scored more runs in a single day (sehwag got only 79 overs for that matter)
Top 10 fastest 200 list, 5 are in his name
Top 4 fastest 200 list , 3 are in his name

no 100 against Zim or Ban...(sachin's 2 200s against Zim/Ban including his best 248*)
he is not a minnow luving player...

only player in modern era (excluding hayden's 300 against Zim) to score 300 and make the team win :-)

since his comeback to team in 2007 (before that i hav heard ppl saying , Sehwag is done with his caeer..he may not play international cricket again........),
he has scored test runs at an avg of 64 and Strikerate of 92
and ODI runs at an avg of 43 and Strikerate of 134

Still u find more fans for Dhoni Yuvraj and for that matter Rohit sharmas, Uthappas Virat kohlis etc...(check their orkut/facebook communities...u find more members there)

U find many people comparing sehwag with Afridis, Dilshans, Umar Akmals, Ashrafuls even.........

Did we ever see such a batsman who can demolish any bowling attack with such immense talent, control and with such ease ?

I read a comment from one old English cricketer, who said, If he bats like this for another day, human rights officials would have arrested him for being so cruel against bowlers !! :-)

Kumble said he would rather have a hamstring than bowling to him!!

Isnt it time to consider him as one of the all time greats who ever played cricket?
Isnt he in a different league??

Comments are welcome !!

Cheers,
Gopan

The only reason Sehwag has less fan following is that we have a huge mindless class of people who are bothered about the glamour quotient and public image of cricketers; and not about performance and consistency. Had Sehwag been better looking, we would have had thousands of girls swooning over him. But the maverick in him will go on smashing the records and create some impossible statistics in years to come, unfettered by such trivia.
Long live VIRU!!!!

BCCI kills tests
by ganessin virappin on Dec 05, 2009 01:37 AM  | Hide replies

The Indian pitches are very good for making records. There is no even contest between bat and ball. Test cricket will die which is already losing interest from the fans after the advent of T20. I feel pity for NZ players who cant make records like Indians. NZ pitches are lively pitches. I have nothing against anyone except the quality of the tests are being degraded by the ulterior motives of BCCI. The greedy boards should put game above money.

I think you are missing the point. Every Tom and Dick had scored in India atleast in this series. There is no better proof than this ongoing series. Do you any batsman who failed to score 100's in this series? Sehwag may be outstanding but that does not mean these pitches are good for tests.

he can make you think that impossible is nothing if you are confident of yourself.records are made to be broken but the real player's every move is make country proud by wining.we had tendulkar, rahul, kumble, sunny, kapil in past but we need match winners and not centuary makers.i think sachin had the talent but was lone.cricket is played with 11.gangully had given the young talent the backup to get matured to inernational level.dhoni is the calm version of gangully with cricket in his every cell.we call him lucky, but it is his intelligence in every move which is making india an unbeatable side atleast in tests with not so great bowling talents except bhajji.best of luck to all of us who breathe and feel fresh when india wins.abhi
