M basically 4m Mumbai, had seen lots of ranji matches @ wankhede, where Amol plays unbelievable innings...A SPECIALIST 4 LONG INNINGS,the MUMBAI WALL...so called, wherein master strokes, huge temperament..all can be seen while this person comes 2 bat. ITS VERY UNHAPPY 2 HEAR THAT HE IS MOVING 2 ASSAM.....SORRY AMOL.. A LION SHOULD WEAR A LIONS TSHIRT...FOR WHICH WE MUMBAI ARE SO CALLED..
He is a perfect example of waste of talent. He is like Grame Hick of England who score 100 century, but never make it big internationally. If any player did not select upto age of 30, he should retire from domestic cricket or shift to help minnows and give chance to youngster in Ranji team. May be he can make national team. These player play Ranji for 15 years so blocking 1 place permanatly. Amarjeet Kaypee from haryana played for 20 years till age of 4o in Ranji team, hightest run getter in domestic cricket but never played for any Indian team be U19, U22, A team. Another Ajay Sharma from Delhi scored lot of runs like Hick but never make it big internationally. There should be rule if player didn't select single time in national team he should retire at 30 or shift ot minnows. If he select and drop and there are chances of comeback then he should be allowed to continue. What you say guyss??

WAT IS THE USE OF LEAVING A PLACE IN RANJI TROPHY...PEOPLE LIKE SACHIN YUVARAJ PATHANS & NEW GENERATIONS WILL COME THROUGH IPL...NO NEED FOR RANJI TROPHY MATCHES NOW TO GET SELECTED...AND MOST IMPORTANTLY IF YOU HAVE MONEY YOU DONT EVEN NEED TALENT...HATS OFF TO YOU AMOL ...SORRY TO SAY YOU DINT SUCCEED WITH HONESTY IN THIS CORRUPT WORLD

After 62 yrs of independence if someone calls Assam as a remote state, then this only God can save thsi country from disintegrate.

That is the probelm of North and South Indians. They always consider people from north east as aliens or Chinese.

Calling this as a problem with 'north and south Indians' is equally absurd as calling Assam 'remote'.

I agree. It is part of India and the author should answer what remote means. This south Ind_ia_ns thinking is absurd.

Remote means distant in this context. Better don't take meanings. For a person sitting in Imphal, Kanyakumari is a remote place.

I m not sure abt this but I have heard tht Anshyman Gaikwaad our former coach is responsible for Amol's non inclusion in Indian side but i m not at all sure abt this I heard from some one else and some one selse heard from some other spurces and so on, I would have loved to see him play for India, he is the unsung hero of cricket and i mean literally unsung and I was surprised when Wasim Jaffer got selected and not Amol Mazumdar, as they both were opener for Bombay and its heartening to see such thing happening to such a great cricketer...

He was very talented player. But, no one gave him any chance in India Team. This is the death of talent in politics. Amol we are with you, Go ahead.
He was a good servant of indian cricket and also in a large way responsible for mumbai cricket continuing to do well. very understated person and kept a low profile. let his bat do the talking I am sure he will inspire a lot of young cricketers in assam. best of luck
Amol is the classic example of a very talented player who missed out due to inconsistent batting esp in key matches. Any young player must grab his opportunities to show his talent...esp in big matches, like those against touring teams. These types of players are everywhere, but I thought Amol would do well, when he started out. Best of luck to him in Assam. SSM
