Best player

He is one of the best player who goes into the book of players never played for India. I played with Keith Piper in Hertfordsire few weeks ago and he specifically asked about Amol. I wish him all the best. It is shame on the Indian selectors for not utilized his service.

amol mazumdar is proof that there is no objectivity in selecting the indian cricket team. a player who has always performed to poetential was ignored due to reasons other than cricket. it is surprising that the team could try out utter duffers (remember a guy called noel) but not a class player like him. definitely some body up here did not like him and that is a loss for indian cricket.

Suchitra just go n read the records properly. Amol was given many chances to show his class but he failed at each n every oppurtunity given. Can u tell me his acievements in Duleep or Irani trophy which r considered as the gate to Indian team selection. The real great player who was never given the chance was padmakar shivalkar who was at his times better than Bedi , Prasanna n all. Also Rajinder Goyal was another victim of such politics.

Amol to Guwahati
by Manoj Barma on Aug 21, 2009 03:21 PM  | Hide replies

People still thing that going to North-East is a SIN. Is Noth-East in India? After all Guwahati is not the Limit, after that there is a State named Manipur Also, Most of India's award winning athelete were born there.

Moreover Amol is citing a good example. He availibility will not only help team Assam, but also boost the confidence of Team Assam. Best of Luck Amol!!!!

He is going Assam is that, most of the states have taken decision to stop import of playes, who have played for their state in their prime age and start crossing over to neighbouring states once crossed their Prime age

Even In Kerala(one weakest cricket team in India),then Captain Andhapadmanabhan is resigend in protest for importing over aged players to team ignoring the claim of young domestic players.

Bombays's Loss -Assam's gain
by Pradeep Neelambaran on Aug 21, 2009 03:15 PM

Isn't it such an irony that one of the highest run getters in Domestic cricket could not be a permanent fixture in the National side. Time to think & ponder. There has to be a SYSTEMS FAILURE, else how can you justify such a scenario. It further saddens me that no Mumbai cricket official tried to talk Amol out of this. Well done Amol, at least I feel that his experience will be best utilized by Assam. It must have been very tough to take this decision but hats off to you Amol & All the very BEST. You deserve more than this....Pradeep. Mumbai
