Please do not kick players on their back during their bad times
by harilal k on Aug 08, 2009 02:50 AM

Of course, Zaheer is the best pace bowler playing for India in the recent times. Then we have Ishant Sharma. There are many more like Sreesanth, R.P Singh, Nehra and few non-starters. I think, As far as possible Zaheer should be brought back to his old shape and fitness level. In the meantime, in my opinion, Sreesanth is the best option India can rely on. WE WANT SREESANTH BACK QUICKLY.
Let him patch up with Bhaji also. Sreesanth is the best opening bowler we have now after Zaheer. Sreesanth, R.P Singh, Isanth and Harbhajan together can workout wonders for India.

IPL will lose its sheen in the years to come as many international players may not play IPL due to fear injuries and too much of cricket without rest which ultimately may cut short ones career

wrong. instead, the players vl play only for ipl n remain 'injured' during the off season (when there is no ipl is off season for them).

yes sandeep, u r right, but what IPL has done is, it has been scheduled during the rest time that one gets of playing continuosly for the country. Thus ligaments and tendons and muscles etc, may not get the needed rest. I also stand by what vijaya has said. IPL will for sure cut down one's career and thus u can see IPL 3 may not run to its orginial sheen

Zaheer has lost his zeal
by Kumar Chakraborthy on Aug 07, 2009 04:41 PM  | Hide replies

Its high time now that the Indian think-tank bring in Shantakumaran Sreesanth in place of Zaheer. He is a class act. His aggression on the field is exemplary which is duly missing in the Indian team at present. Also if Sehwag misses out then his place should go to VVS.Laxman who is in peak form in the English County. Dravid already in the probles. So Sreesanth & Laxman should be drafted in soon.

Srishant will be playing for some English county this season. If he can make his mark then he may be considered.

why bother about Zaheer,as if there are no treatment centres in India for his injury, this is gross misuse of the money accquired by BCCI,we have plenty pace bowlers in India y bother about Zaheer,Zaheer bhai pls retire u r 30 yrs old give some youngsters a chance

End of the road?

This is perhaps end of the road for Zaheer. Not many fast bowlers have made successful comeback after a long lay off!

He will hopefully make it. But let us see what this IPL did to our best palyers. Sehwag and Zaheer are out because of this IPL. India lost world-cup beause of this IPL.

BCCI's main motto is to make money and nothing else.

With hi swing ball to both ways ability, he is amongst all bowlers who are playing for India at present scenereo. He also had good cricketing brain. He always use to advise youngster bowllers like Ishant. I pray that he will recovered soon & play for India a long time.

Not need to ban IPL, because some of the youngsters are comming to scenerio by this tournament. Our Senior players should play only few matches of IPL, not full tournament.

T20 is not a format to recognise a talent and groom. it should be from longer forms of games like domestic cricket, tests and ODI.
