Hi Chaturchuramoni

I am sorry for anything that wud hv hurt, u but u were not able to understand that i was talking of the period of Dalmiya and Ganguly, from 1996 to 2005, it was this period that Ganguly was never accountable. Check his runs and averages against each teams and u will find he was prolific against weaker teams and worst against the best.

Anyways got to go, am sorry for that fights i hv had with u.

In that series against England in the 1st test (which India lost and Ganguly didn't play) India scored 214 in the first and 219 (Sachin alone scored 122) in the second, batting was not a problem? :-)

Buchanan got what he wished, Ganguly is no longer the captain, but 1 win in 3 matches (that too due to Duckworth-Lewis)????

Well fans of Dada are not just Bengalis..... Dada does not need cricket scientist like Buchanan or Ladies team coach to run a team... KKR lost bcoz of foolish decision from scientist....

Ganguly avaraged 49.6 in tests before he was made the captain (upto 31st Dec 1999), although it affected his batting he stuck with it, unlike someone who resigned from captaicy as soon as his mentor left Indian Cricket.

After he was dropped and great players like M.Kaif (dropped by RR recently) and Venugopal Rao was thought better than him, he made a comeback, and since his comeback till the time he retired his test average was around 46.

Ganguly's average in tests were never 49 or 50 after 5 years, LOL here is his before captaincy stats for u

35 Matches, Runs 2505 and average      45.54 with 7 hundreds. U are omitting the Australia series cause that series brings Ganguly averages down as he couldnt bat against the best bowlers of his time.

Ya cause they had a 12 and 13th man, the umpire giving caught out behinds of Nasir Hussain and others as not outs. And u dont know much about cricket. India wasnt losing series cause of batting even without Ganguly India was capable in batting its the bowling which wasnt capable of takign 20 wickets.

i hv not seen a bigger fool then u chaturchuramoni. Read my post again, what i wrote.

Tell me one thing, GAnguly played from 1996 to 2005, how many runs and what is his average against Australia, Pakistan, South Africa and West Indies... these 10 years Dalmiya was ruling, and it will show whether Ganguly was accountable or no !!! for ur info, Ganguly played nearly 47 tests in these 10 years and there were gr8 bowlers u can find names urself of these in these 10 years and Ganguly averaged less than 27 against these nations in these 10 years with sole hundred against Aust, that too when McGrath and Warne were missing, it means if Australia or any team has gr8 bowlers they can screw Ganguly as adn when they want.

You have made so many accusations, can you PROVE a single one of them?

People Ganguly had supported
Yuvraj - Currently India's one of the best players in the limited overs version of the game.
Bhajji - Termed as rejected, brought back by Ganguly, currently India's best spinner.
Zaheer - India's number 1 strike bowler.
Even Dravid - Ganguly saved his ODI career.

Under Ganguly India won test in Aus after 23 years, in WI after 26 years, in England after 16 years. First Dravid (or more correctly Chappell) and now Dhoni has built on that very foundation built by Ganguly.

OK, India won a series against weak Zimbabwe, but what you have not mentioned is that overseas win came after 12 years.

Consistency is the key!!
by Spitting Cobra on Apr 24, 2009 05:35 PM  | Hide replies

Consistency is the key out here.....the Australian philosophy is that no one is indispensable and even if he is the captain, he has to perform...

So, if a captain becomes a non-performing guy, he can't hide behind the seat of power and escape censure.....that was the principle on which he booted out Ganguly...fine, very fine, on objection out there...but the key is consistency in attitude..

going by the same logic, Ricky Ponting does not deserve a place in the Aussie ODI and 20-20 team cos he has been failing in 50 overs ODI format for a pretty long time now......now why is Chappell quiet about Ponting's failures??

Why??? Cos all Aussies want Ponting to break Sachion's record of max centuries in tests and want to shepherd him along to that record even if it is on a walking stick.....so, all those Aussies who brag that they don't care about personal records are actually very keen to see this max centuries record with Australia..

So, they are actually suffering Ponting and sacrificing team goals for this personal milestone....
So, it is not only Indians who are keen on personal records but also the Aussies...neways, Sachin will go so far ahead of Ponting that the Aussie wil lose hope and retire for good!!

Four teams that might make to semi finals
by LG on Apr 24, 2009 05:19 PM  | Hide replies

An ideal but realistic team, which has
Two consistently performing batsmen (one at the top and one in the middle)
And two consistently wicket-taking bowlers would win the T20/20 Championship (whether IPL or world cup), as I believe that in T20/20 it is the individual performance that wins matches.
The four teams that would make semifinal could be
DC
MI
BRC
DD
Do you all agree?

WI name doenot qualify for greatness, when Dravid's team defeated WI then they were languishing at no 7 in world rankings above Zim & Bangladesh, England was also not a side to recon with ...... so if you have felt Dravid made gr8 contributions as captain, you must be fanatic nothing else! For ur kind information GANGULY is the greatest captain of all time. He has a greater cricket brain then sachin and dravid. I think sachin and dravid were cowards and crap in captaincy. Infact when they captained for india it was a bad period for indian cricket. DADA was far better then sachin and dravid beat that. Even laxman cant captain. These are the words that the greatest would say no me. shame on u ganguly critics.

Hats off to Dada. Although KKR lost but he proved his mettle once again. A slap on Mulla SRK's face. I am sure if Dada were Captain then the super over results would also have been different. So now is it clear to all that "DADA IS NOT DADU YET".
