Dravid gave up his captaincy almost as soon as his mentor Greg Chappell left the team.
Laxman has never captained India.
You cannot compare them to Ganguly under whom India won a test match in Australia after more than 20 years.

Why are you guys crying? Captainship has been taken away from Ganguly. Nano has been taken away from Bengal. Bengal is decaying and suffering from Communism. Still you guys only want to speak about Bengal. Why is it so? Insecurity? You have nothing else on your mind? Go and praise mumbai. No problems. Why foul mouth Bengal? What has Bengal left in it that you scums are still after? It is their minds that you are after, which is beyond your reach. Stop trying so hard.

About Deccan Chargers from wikipedia
A huge controversy has risen amidst the Deccan Chargers camp, as their ace player VVS Laxman has reportedly decided not to play for the team again. Laxman, a senior Indian batsman, is upset by the way the owners have overlooked his contributions and sacrifices and named Adam Gilchrist as the captain for the next season, without even informing him before-hand. People realized something was wrong when another star player Shahid Afridi accused VVS Laxman of his below-par performance and inability to lead on the field in the inaugural season. A temporary truce was resorted to, but the flames have reappeared soon. Later they have terminated the contract of Shahid Afridi and after team management have snapped their ties with him.

Afridi's contract was terminated because Pakistani cricketers are not allowed to participate in IPL.

On a visit to India, the poet Yeats received a visit from an Indian admirer who was also, in Yeats' words, "an Indian devotee" of Tagore. In a letter to a lady friend, Yeats quoted this unnamed devotee as giving him a 'strictly off the records' version of events dealing with the writing of Jana Gana Mana. That version, as presented in 1968 by the Indian Express newspaper, was this:
"He (Tagore) got up very early in the morning and wrote a very beautiful poem.... When he came down, he said to one of us, 'Here is a poem which I have written. It is addressed to God, but give it to Congress people. It will please them."[11]
Thus, Tagore is said to have written the poem in honour of God. In a letter to Pulin Behari Sen, Tagore himself wrote:[12]
"A certain high official in His Majesty's service, who was also my friend, had requested that I write a song of felicitation towards the Emperor. The request simply amazed me. It caused a great stir in my heart. In response to that great mental turmoil, I pronounced the victory in Jana Gana Mana of that Bhagya Vidhata [ed. God of Destiny] of India who has from age after age held steadfast the reins of India's chariot through rise and fall, through the straight path and the curved. That Lord of Destiny, that Reader of the Collective Mind of India, that Perennial Guide, could never be George V, George VI, or any other George. Even my official friend understood this about the song. (to be continued)

After all, even if his admiration for the crown was excessive, he was not lacking in simple common sense."
Please do not foul mouth the great poet or his patriotism. You guys may hate bengalis but do not speak about a person whom you can never equal in 7 births in talent, patriotism or simplicity. I was shocked to read your post and hence I replied.

I will rather be hanged for killing you Anaida. You are spreading a propaganda against the greatest poet the country has produced without getting to the bottom of it. If you can speak in this manner I will rather kill you and be hanged. Please do not play with the passion of a Bengali. I have done no harm to you. Please do not try to hurt my feelings.

Don't forget one of the best fast bowler of Bengal Ranadev Bose had not been included in 11 players last year,by Ganguly. After that he has been thrown out of hotel also means not in 16 also. But Bengalies are so innocent..........the worship him Ganguly doesn't want any other Hero should come from Bengal.

So, RR has dumped players (including M. Kaif who represented India in the past), CSK has followed it, dumping a few players including the son of current chairman of selectors.
P.S. How can you tell that it wasn't Buchanan or SRK who has done it? Why blame only Ganguly?

the probs with you people is that if Gnaguly promotes Ranadeb (I am his fan) you would charge him of regionalism and now you are charging him of neglect of bengal talent. Jai Ho hats off to you guys. You guys seriously deserve a Jai Ho.

sure man...Bose got a raw deal! But, what makes you think that Sourav called the shots and not SRK or Buchie? But you are morally obligated to support Bose in every Team India selection from now on!
Re: Ddi you know ????
by Avinash PS on Apr 22, 2009 06:54 PM
very rightly said.. In case of Dravid he is being criticised for no reason he has given his 100% and performed much better than so called young players!
SRK is arrogant, liar, bows down to white skin, extremely rude and obnoxious. On one day he told that Dada was his man, weeks later, he supported multiple captaincy idea even at teh expense of insulting personalities like Gavaskar. He does not understand Cricket, specially 20-20 game, otherwise he would not be recruiting Ishant Sharma, Murali, Henrique, Mortaza (hefty price tag). Why is Mortaza is warming up the bench? We Indian need to stand up against licking up white asses. On one hand we are claiming that Indian team is No.1, but on the other we could not find coach and manager to take care of the team. We are the so called power house of batsmen, then why most of the foreign recruits are batsmen, and not bowlers? Indian captaincy is a revered achievement; how did SRK got the audacity to insult a well regarded Indian Captain? He may have the money to have a team on his own, but the spectators do have the right to boycott to see his team perform.

Wat a silly people you all are... Do you think SRK is fool?... Somebody said he bought cheap player.. paki player,etc...Do u think he is that mad? He is the one who has to support his coach..so that the team have the confidence in the coach... Whether it will work or not i dont know.( mind u Australia won 2 wc under him) But u people should understand that he is the one who will be the most worried if team losses... Go back in 2008... if given a thought ,he had a good team with Macllum, ponting, gayle(DNP as he was injured)Hussey, Ganguly these batsmen are enough for T20... Umar Gul , Ishant,Agarkar & Shoaib Murali kartik are excellent bowlers ..But somehow they didnt got the combination rite..POnting & Macllum left in middle of tournament..Gayle remained injured... This year also looks same as Hussey is not there.. Gayle will leave in last league of tournament...
I think Mumbai Indian or Delhi will win this time..... wat say...
Re: Re: SRK may be the owner of KKR but he does not understand Cr
by Susobhan Ghosh on Apr 22, 2009 07:30 PM
To answer your statement, SRK may not be fool, but he is ignorant. In what sense Mcclum better that Indian grat captain Ganguli? McClum is not even the captain of lowly placed N Zealnd team. he is a good 20-20 player no doubt about it. Any coach with the Australian team of Steve Waugh/ Ponting could win WC - what is great about it. gentleman, you need to think the difference between Chappel and our present coach from s Africa. there is a whole class of difference. He is doing his job because he does not interfare with players' ability. These calibre off players do not need coaches who do not have experience close to these players. Then these aussies bring whole battalion of other personnels to milk Indian wealthy men and exploit the spectators.
