where money come from?
by PRASAD ANL on Apr 22, 2009 08:14 PM

how do these sponsoring companies recover the expenditure? through Tickets, and selling their commodities at higher price thereby ruining common man in the world. these millionaire companies want to mint more and more money at the cost of living of common man and paying huge amount to cricket players. these players are playing cricket only for money but not for nation's interest.

Best and worst performers of last IPL 2008
by micro mechanics on Apr 22, 2009 07:55 PM  | Hide replies

Last year's IPL-2008 stats:

Most runs = Shaun Marsh = 11 Matches = 616 runs = 5 fifties and 1 century

Most wickets = Shohail Tanvir = 11 Matches = 22 wickets

Both Marsh and Tanvir are not playing in the current edition of IPL 2009.

Ravindra Jadeja (Rajasthan Royals) did not score a single fifty even after playing 14 games. He is talked about a lot by some seniors like Gavaskar and Shastri. He has a lot to prove this time.

Virat Kohli - Did not score even one fifty. What he needs to do now is play some solid knocks. He is a great fielder though.

Mohammed Kaif - Did not score even one fifty. Sent back from South Africa just before the start of the tournament after a heated team meeting. He is also not part of the Indian team at any level.

VVS Laxman (Deccan Chargers)- Scored only one fifty in 8 games. He is under a lot of pressure to perform or just go home for good.

Dravid and Ganguly score only 2 and 3 fifties respectively after the whole tournament and playing in almost every match.

Rohit Sharma was the most consistent with the bat with 4 fifties. This guy has a future although needs to convert fifties into centuries or he will be taken over by Raina in the ODI team of India.

Too early to say
by micro mechanics on Apr 22, 2009 06:37 PM

This is too early to judge the true value of any player. Atleast the first round should finish and then only one can analyse the stats as ample evidence of their potential. Any one can be a champion this time around, the tournament is still very open. Rain will be a big factor. There will be a great end to this edition of the IPL any way as the competition will only get tougher by the day.

Is Srinivas Bhogle the brother of our "Motor Mouth" Harsha Bhogle? The similarities of analyzing the absurd is too close to ignore!
