MS Dhoni is just a good captain but his impact on India winning matches is very less compared to the hype created by electronic media and his fans coz MS Dhoni is not a match winner but just a good captain.
The match against Mumbai Indians proved this fact that whatever Indian team has won matches under MS DHoni as captain has come bcoz of phenomenal performances by match winners like :
1.Sachin Tendulkar.
2.Gautam Gambhir.
3.Viru Sehwag.
4.Yuvraj Singh.
5.Harbhajan Singh.
In fact India won T20 world cup coz of brilliant performances by:
1.Gautam Gambhir.
2.Yuvraj Singh.
3.Irfan Pathan.
4.Rohit Sharma.
India won CB tri-series coz Sachin Tendulkar scored 117 and 91 runs in both finals coz of which India won best of 3 finals 2-0 and Gautam Gam,bhir scored 3 100's in prelims matches.
I am not sayin that MS DHoni has not contributed anything, India has won most of the matches coz of team effort only but the most significant thing is that India has won matches coz of excellent team effort with phenomenal individual performances by match winner's who were helped by other players.
My only problem is that only MS DHoni should not be given credit for India winning all these matches but entire team should get credit which they have not got, Most of Sachin bashers give credit to only MS DHoni as captain but not to entire Indian team, Maybe they are fans of MS DHoni, Maybe some of them in minority though are por-kis but they defiletly lack knowledge of Cricket :-)

capt makes or breaks a team. ian botham was capt during ashes, but lost 2 tests. he made way for mike brearly n eng won 3 tests!!! capt does make a difference.

In winning matches of last two years Dhoni average is more than 70, runs are more than 1400 and SR is more than 90. What else you can expect from Dhoni? Dhoni always gives credit to all the players who performs well in match. He never said we won because of me. Secondly CSK missed A.Morkel against MI because he lost his kit just before the match. A.Nayar played a match winning inning for MI.

Average doeenot indicate any thing. Dhoni has not played any match winning inning. He win only due to luck & great performance by match winners like Sachin/Sehwag/Dravid/Laxman/Zaheer in test & Sachin/Gambhir/Yuvi/Bhajji/Zaheer in oneday. But some media lobbying for dhoni gives all credit to him for nothing. He has to prove himself for atleat 10 yrs to come in elite group of greats like sachin/dravid/laxman/kumble etc.

Why the same players were not performing well under Kumble's captaincy? Do you know what is Sehwag, Raina, Gambhir average under Dhoni's captaincy and what was before? Just check it on cricinfo and you will realize Dhoni's impact on the team. A greatest player like Sachin has appreciated Dhoni's captaicy. Did he ever said it for other captains.

Who said it. After each victory I appreciate all the players who performs well. Even Indian media was comparing Viru with Sachin just after ODI series. But whole world saw the real difference in test series.

Mr.Sachin best, i think u dont have any work except writing these bloody comments in rediff in cricket, one player can't perform all the things and there should be captain who will lead, guided and monitor the team, then only win can happened.thats exactly dhoni is doing.he is doing captaincy,keeping and doing batting with more than 50 average. so more than this,what u want from a single player

If Viru Sehwag scores a 100 and wins game for Delhi dare Devils against Chennai super kings then are u goin to accept that Viru Sehwag is better captain than MS DHoni :-)
If u dont accept then ur logic is flawed and ur only giving credit to MS DHoni coz ur his fan and nothing else :-)
If u accept that Viru Sehwag is indeed better captain than MS DHoni then ur logic of captaincy bcomes flawed coz Viru Sehwag is considered worst captain by urself in this present Indian team :-)

Dhoni gets most of the time 100 percent from each player and utilize all the resources very well. I am sorry to say winning a match with bat can't make him captain like Dhoni.

A good captain gets better result with even least resources. While a bad captain gets poor result even with great resources. Like we lost test series in Srilanka with presence of Kumble and Ganguly, but we won test series in NZ with players like Yuvraj, Munaf.

By getting respect from the greats. During NZ tour, Sehwag got criticism like the worst captain ever (though I disagree) from Martin Crowe while Dhoni never got such criticism from anyone. In fact Sachin had admitted under Dhoni India is in safe hands which he did not give to any other in last few years.

Captains do matter. Consider the following: 1. Last year home series against Australia- Under Kumble India looked toothless and under Dhoni Australia looked toothless though both had similar team. So is the difference not clear? 2. Dravid also had got a nice team in 2007 WC, but under him India could not even clear first round. 3. Against MI, Hayden had dropped Sachin when he was in single digit score. So Hayden taken the catch it could have been a different scenario. 4. Last year Indian team under Kumble flopped in Sri Lanka. But India won the ODI series where Dhoni got Man of the Series and players like Sehwag, Sachin, Zaheer were absent and others like Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj flopped.

also, dhoni is known all over the world for his captaincy in cricket....
if muralidharan was selected, MI would defintely be under 100 in their 1st match...just watch the next encounter between CSK and MI..
my guess is likely...RR will beat MI and CSK vs.DDD will be the finals and it is difficult to guess who will win as both the teams are like lions...
