Match Fixed
by Comming Soon on Apr 06, 2009 03:01 PM  | Hide replies

With 531 runs lead on 3rd day, I think India was well enough run to make it 2-0. Why they played for another 1 hr or more? I don't think NZ could make 532 runs to win it. We waste valuable 1 hr in the Windy morning session and we could have 2 more wickets to strengthen our position....looks like match is fixed so that NZ can have a Draw.

In order to be Number One team in the world, we should win more matches than draw. I hope everybody will agree with me.

losing less is also important. record shows that SA and Aus lost more tests than India

pls stop it.. i think u hardly know anything about test cricket - As u see India have scored a 300 run both innings and as if we declare early there NZ will have good chance of winning a test and get that leveled 1-1 rather than try to make a less time and enough target to chance makes things tougher for then to win this match wat India have tried here is that play a safe gave with a enough number of sessions to get them all out..

of they get 180 over they will have a easy chance to chance 500 odd runs it will be less than 3 runs per over

Dhoni is not fool like Ponting who gave enough time to SA to chased 400 in 4th inning.

they declared late; as they did not want to even give NZ slightest of thoughts that they can win. 1-0 series is better than risking the series for 1-1.

Dhoni as Captain
by zacharia john on Apr 06, 2009 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

The main difference between other Indian captains, after Kapil I would say, is that his captaincy has not affected his performance.
Dada also could bring out the best from the team, but the captaincy did affect his performance, atleast to a certain extent. Anyway everything is going well for the team now and they should carry on. I think we should also try to nurture a larger pool of quality spinners as we have no one substantial to look to beyond bhaji.

dont even think of comparing that boy dhoni with Shree Dada Gangulyji. Dada was royal captain who did extraordinary things. he is GOD of cricket. dhoni is just a kid now. he has to learn so much from Shree Dada Gangulyji. he is immature now. he will learn from Shree Dada Gangulyji. As for sachin tendlya, only god help his elbow. Shree Dada Gangulyji was never complaining like that...thats why Shree Dada Gangulyji is God!

The one who called some
by Michael Ponnudurai on Apr 06, 2009 01:33 PM

Bluffmaster-Courtesy Cricinfo.com
Virender Sehwag is not the man you want fielding at leg slip if you are a batsman or a fielder. Especially when Harbhajan is bowling from round the stumps, and turning it in. After catching Ross Taylor on the half-volley, he threw the ball way up in the air. MS Dhoni, who hadn't turned back in time, actually thought Sehwag had caught it. As did the crowd.

A few overs later, Sehwag caught Taylor off the thigh pad, and threw the ball up again. He didn't throw it too high this time, and no-one was fooled." From Cricinfo.com

Actual conversation
after 3rd ODI between India-Pak played in Lahore Paskistan on 13 Feb
2006 Rameez: So Inzy, disappointed with your performance
today?

Inzy: Bismilla-e-rehman-e-rahim. Thank you allah.ya the indian batsman is
play very good today. we is try very hard but is not win the game.
Rameez: Any words for Dhoni? Inzy: Ya dhoni is play very
well. He is hit his shot very hard in our gaps. In start, we is
protect our gaps very well. the grass is also thick.. but dhoni is
split our gaps with his bat. Rameez: Another ordinary
bowling performance? Inzy: Ya our balls is loose. the bowler is
went for many run. Asif is bowled well. Also, after some shots the
ball is out of shape. umpire is not give another ball.. it is tough
to play with one ball. Rameez: Dropped catches.. did that
prove costly? Inzy: ya the ball is not stick to our hands. we is
practice a lot sticking our bat in our hands.. but now we is more
practice sticking balls in our hands. Rameez: Any plans for
the next match? Inzy: ya India is on top but we is try to bounce
on our back. Insha allah we is play better. Rameez: All the
best Inzy Inzy: Thank is you
