Yuvraj Singh might be the trumpcard against Australia, precisely for the reason that Australia have a pace oriented attack and Yuvi can destroy the best pace attacks in the world... Yuvi has problems against spinners but Australia don't have any quality spinner with the exception of Bryce McGain!!
So, i think it would be worthwhile to try out Yuvi and see how he goes in the first 2 test matches!!
If he fails, we can always bring try out Irfan Pathan at no.7 and push MS Dhoni up the order to no.6!!!!

Yuvraj should be given a place in the Test squad only and only if he performs and not because the Australians dont have a good spin attack. We have many more reserves with us who can play fast bowlers as well spinners well when compared to the form yuvraj is in currently.
Not withstanding all that has been written abt India's Fab 4, some questions still persist. Can anyone name just one batsman from the past 19 yrs who remotely came close to matching Tendulkar's talent be it in tests or one-dayers ? Lots of people talk abt young blood for the sake of young blood. How many of the present lot can even play patiently for 20 overs in a test ? Even in one dayers only Yuvraj has something to show that could match Sachin's records. And how many players even in Ranji can boast of playing stubborn innings like the ones that Laxman and Dravid played often in their careers ? Even we would like to have players better that the Fab 4, but inspite of all the training and coverage cricketers get, no new bright talented stars have really come up and lived up to their promise. Even Raina who showed initial promise has been nowhere near what Sachin managed when he was a youngster. In fact only improvement I guess has been in the bowling dept. where there is competetion unlike earlier days where there was hardly anyone to support Kapil. And no great 'wicket taking' bowlers have come up like in the mould of Murali or Shane, in the spin dept.

Dear Rajesh Shetty
You are simply good at yr remarks. I loved it. Please continue to offer such remarks quite often. The young guise those are on the paper are Raina, Karthik, Kaif, Uthappa etc., can not play a test match. They are all for 20 - 20 only. Srinivas.

Shashi KS should be selector of indian cricket and will select himself only.He don't like Dhoni because of personal reason but dhoni is now No. 1 Ranked ODI player selected by ICC. Arey you fool read newspaper & see how he is progressing day by day.
Indian test batting looks jaded and no great talent in sight. Badrinath tried hard but clearly Ishant had him in trouble. But Badri seems the best middle order prospect in view.Needs to play more against top pace. Kaif is just not there. Akash Chopra flattered to deceive.Jaffer looks edgy and unsure. So it has to be Gambhir for the opener's slot with Sehwag. But Gambhir is not at all solid. His second innings was good, but on a pitch with some more carry he would have been done in easily. But no choice.

Sehwag did not include inform Shikhar Dhawan just to appease good for nothing Akash Chopra and Mithun Minhas. Shikhar is by far the best batsman in Delhi side. Why selectors are still pushing with Kaif even though it ha sbeen proved that he does not have the test potential.

u hv to consider chopra's first innings score in the lively bowling when he scored 44 out of total 177.
This match has not proved anything. Kumble and Harbajan did not bowl great but will no doubt be in the team. Aussies must have fully worked out both. They have played them for long.So unless pitches are prepared for them cannot see them striking like in the past.Have they developed new skills for Aussies?Without some new bowling skills they are totally predictable. Nanda was good in the Kumble mould but a better turner.More controlled than Piyush. Apart from Ishant who bowled really well and to some extent Zaheer and Munaf no new talent in this game.
Kumble should retire now ... Even he should know the inevitable that the Dhoni is the Future of Team India. If today he is not the Captain then he wont be in the team.

oh that guy who took leave for a test series, you want him to be made as captain and throw out the most deserving servant of indian cricket ??? what a logic

Kumble is a great player no doubt ... And i hope we all respect him. Thats why he is getting so many chances to declare his retirement.
I think Kumble (one should) retire when he is in peak form.

Boss, Kumble is still playing good. He is still match fit. Don't throw statements, if you are not aware what he has done in match concluded today.

And you need to be ashamed to write such an statement for a great player like Anil Kumble
