please refer to Sachin, Rahul and Laxman Statistics when compared with those of Ganguly after Ganguly's come back (2006). It shows Sachin is still ahead.
Laxman is a fantastic player but he is not in picture 4 team victory......he alyas forced 2 play with tail enders so he is not getting the more runs but he still the average is more than 50,.... he is alaways been cosistent in scoring runs...he is best in playing in england ,australia,sA .......he is a one of the the greatest players on hard and bouncy pitch..........

Yes, When India followed on Laxman played a gem of innings which is Wisden's top most innings of all times. He not only saved and even helped India win the test. In the history of cricket, we do not have many matches when a team after following on won the test. In addition, I also suggest how many matches were saved by others in the list. We didnt have many atleast after 1996. I remember there was only one test which Dhoni and Rain saved us from losing test against England.

Your Dada should retire and take up politics. He is unfit for cricket but seems to love politics.

u r in no need to say that DADA must go to politics... ok. he knows what to do and knows how to come back into the team... he will surely strike back...
Rajneesh Gupta said Ganguly is the best just a coupla days back and now he rediscovers the virtous VVS. One facet of VVS which is hugely unnoticed is his feat as a slip fielder. He is by far the most reliable and no-fuss slipper that India has ever had.Laxman's ability to string together partnerships at crucial moments is another great asset.Dont even think of dropping him!

Difficult to get his replacement is also difficult. The selectors seem to be determined and rightly so to put an end to Ganguly's career. They should phase out the Fab 4 in phase. Ganguly...Dravid...Laxman...Tendulkar.
Laxman has scored 50 or more runs 47 times out of which centuries are only 12(25% success of converting 50 to 100). He should try to cross 100 once he crosses 50. on other hand sehwag has equal or more 100's than' 50's. laxmna is great palyer but shouls score more centuries. Watching him play is a treat. Dravid also as only 25 100's He as got out in 90's more than 10 times.

When Laxman tries to convert 50's to 100's all of us will again make some arguments ready to say how selfish is he.

prasad you should also see that laxman plays 5 or 6 down and its very difficult to score century with the Indian tailenders.

Guys, I do not know how many of you will agree with me, but a major drawback with Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman is that they tend to break the rhythm of their partner while batting! All of them have this knack of defending five balls of an over and nudging the last ball for a single! Players like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Tendulkar et al who perform better if they can keep up the fluency tend to get bogged down and frustrated with this inability on the part of G, D and L to rotate strike! Also, all three of them (Dravid being a bit of an exception) are capable of getting their partners run out too!
