i sincerely feel ganguly should out from test side and raina should come in
by SURYAPRAKASH TATA on Sep 07, 2008 03:41 PM

my sincere feeling is that ganguly should be the only ommission from test side apart from all seniors. sehwag, gambhir, dravid, sachin, laxman, raina, dhoni harbhajan, kumble, ishanth, zaheer should be the final eleven with sachin and sehwag doing leggies regularly. rpsingh, munaf, piyush chawla and pojha in lines for replacements would be better idea.

sachin, dada, rahul, kumble please retire gracefully after the AUS series
otherwise our idiotic indian media and also the people of india who r actually the most hypocratic people in the world will not even hesitate to take all your ARTHIS some days later. The people of india have forgotten contributions u great players.

now they want people like dhoni who r winning purely on luck, do not have real class and more intersted in HAIR STYLES, BOLLYWOOD HEROINS. This is all coz the new generation's thinking is baseless and only intersted in entertaintment and no pride for the country

what a way to give respect to players under whom indian cricket team become the real team india and they nurtured players like yuvi, viru, dhoni, bhajji etc

this shows that indians are surely the most selfish and curroupted people in the world

don't equate whole of india to a few losers...sachin will play till the day he thinks he dosen't enjoy playing..look at leander how everyone were goign after him and how he answeered his critics...famous and great people always keep putting eggs on their critics's face which sachin also will keep doing as he has done in the past...

Sachin's natural play diminishing
by km vb on Sep 07, 2008 11:11 AM

It seems Sachin's mind frame is like he wanted to carry his playing till next world cup, so keeping this in mind he wanted to retain his place,he is becoming nervous while executing his natural play. Also he is afrain of media and also failure and his often becoming sick appears to make the public not to comment of him of his failure and retirement topic.Sachin should graceffuly retire as he is unable to play his natural sytle and also became an easy wicket to take for an opponant ordinary bowler.

why bringing marathis and maharshtra in the discussion.
sachin has played 400 odis and 145 tests for india not for maharashtra
i am not a marathi but dont bring regionalism
when aybody supports ganguly then all u fools do bengalis or bengal etc etc
for dravid it is south indian etc etc

some idiots like devraj khatri always bring regionalism and speak about national interest

dont be so hypocratic
if u dont understan cricket shut up and create all regionalisms in ur home not in this public forum

After your non-show against Mendis, nobody wants you in the team..better retire and start a vada pao/Misal pao center of your own....so that all Marathi Gh&atis can have misal pao/usal pao for breakfast!!

Sachin did a great service to the India cricket, but ...
by Shake Abdullah on Sep 07, 2008 02:38 AM  | Hide replies

I hate to see him miss the line of the ball, get bowled by useless medium pacers. He can't clobber the spinners as he used to(Warne).

He says that he has become more mature as a batsmen. I'm not sure if maturity means you become half the batsmen you once were. Sachin had that spark once upon a time. His presence made the opposition sit up. Now any lousy bowler gets his wicket.

There are players like Lara, Ponting, Hayden, Richards, etc ... they did not change their style in the middle of their careers. They played the same attacking cricket all their life. And they succeeded.

His recent game against Mendis was pathetic. I know that the people who defend him say that the rest of the team failed too. But we can't compare Sachin with others. But the days have come where we've started comparing.

Its time for him to leave the game gracefully. Would be great if he starts an academy. If his academy produces batsmen half his capability, Indian cricket has bright future.

Well said. Sachin is best when attacking and not good when defending. He needs to try his original game against Aussies. May be he got cricket left in him. It is not pleasent to see Sachin struggle against ordinary bowlers.

Not to defend Sachin, for I too am fed up on his change in style and absolutely un_sachin like performances over the last 3 years ( - one abberation like the last Oz series excluded).
However one correction, Sachin's play against Mendis was very good, I read up a statistic which said against 60-odd deliveries he played against Mendis, he scored 57 runs and got dismissed only once - which is great by test standards. He actually failed against listless pacers and the once-great(like Sachin himself) Chaminda Vaas.

In hindsight, Moin Khan's prediction when Sachin last toured Pakistan seems prophetic. When Sachin got hit by a bouncer in the series, he commented it was the beginning of the end for Sachin. Like all fans I felt the comment was ridiculous. However it really turned out that he had absolutely no great performance after that series. Even the last Oz series, his performance was just like one of the good series for an average batsman. Just not the great Sachin anymore!!!
