What a confidence u have and this is good decision u have taken.
You please advice sachin also to leave selfishness. Give place to fello indians.
We do not need players records. We need india's records. We need india should win world cups.

You should be ashamed to even suggest Sachin being selfish.Like Saurav has said the decision is to be the individual's as long as they fare well. Stop hounding the seniors

Sachin is selfish, in the last series in Australia, he always took a single to go the the nonstrikers end and let the tailender batsman to face, as a batsman of his repute, he should have faced more to keep the innings going on, and if he did so, i think the result of atleast two tests been changed.

Its really funny in this discussion board one week back so many comments against dada, dhoni and little master, now everyone praises. We have to thank new chairman Srikanth for selecting Saurav more than anyone else. pl do appreciate Dravid too, he is contributing scores around 50 most of the time. I agree its long time due from him and Sachin for a match winning score

If we do not apply pressure on these time tested players by our uneducated comments they certainly will perform. The fans should stop getting carried away by the myth old is bad.If one can cope with the physical and mental demands of the game and perform reasonably well and even better than the younger brigade why should the older players be seen off? We all understand that they can not be playing for ever

Farewell!
by Anup A Banerjee on Oct 19, 2008 06:44 AM  | Hide replies

I wish to see Indian players carry Ganguly on their shoulders and out of field in his last test. That is the greatest honour that a player of such calibre deserve.
I remember Steve Waugh got such farewell in Sydney. More than 2000 of 80,000 people who turned up to see Steve had tears in their eyes almost all had Goosebums. Guys this is what I call honour. Ganguly and other 4 stalwarts (Sachin, Rahul, Laxman, Anil) surely deserve such farewell.

There are and will be critics of Ganguly, Sachin, Dravid, Laxman but lets not forget their contribution for Indian Cricket. 10 our of 9 Aussies feel Laxman is the greatest test player, there are kids who try to imitate his style.
I think it was Ganguly’s decision to retire, he is matured enough to know when to retire so lets stop speculating about the reason for his retiring and make his farewell the most memorable one.
Ganguly deserves something special, and it would be interesting to see his last day at cricket field representing Tri-Colour.

Laxman Murugesan
Sourav one of the Indian greats
by Laxman Murugesan on Oct 19, 2008 06:43 AM

Sourav is one of the great players of India. Remember the series in Toronto won by the brilliance of both bat & ball by Sourav.

Sachin the then skipper mentioned that the series was won by his secret weapon i.e. Sourav Ganguly

Ganguly always played well under pressure.
So it is good for India if Ganguly is in pressure and start getting runs.
