well he should have included abdul qadir a man who kept alive leg spin in an era of fast bowling. His protege mushtaq ahmed is named but Qadir should have been there. but i guess he made the lists with players he played the game or made a difference in his game else Imran Khan Viv Richards Gavaskar should have been in that list coz no sane mind wud put merv huges above waqar younis!

Thanks you have proved you are an INDIAN. We indians never accept our own guys greatness.Even if other guys recognise also we will criticize them. Good. Keep it up.

Its not accepting greatness...greatness should be recognized as much it deserves...we should not go gaga over one person and make him bigger than the game!
Being Indian does not mean proclaiming greatness even when it does not exist!
The truth is that ovreall Sachin would be rated as the second best test batsman after Bradman, however if the quality of the test innings played is considered then he would not figure even in the top 10!

What about the quality of playing ODs and Bowling and playing for such a long time ? Did Bradman played against any great bowler ? Bradman was lucky because he didn't played against any great bowler.

Tendulkar was lucky because we did not play much against Pakistan who had the best fast bowlers in Wasim and Waqar.. The reason india stopped playing in Sharjah was because we were scared of them and news was spread that due to matchfixing..

dude...awesome..was it sachin who tore apart agains the two Ws and akhtar in a bloody world cup game..taking it single handedly in india's favor??i accept comparisons shudnt b made..they played with no helmets and bodyline..current players play in different condition against reverse swing and all sorts of spin..but sachin is a legend in ne era..n has to b rated alongside bradman n richards as the best batsmen

i dont think this is a correct comparison. bradman never had any of these protective gear,i believe. And remember in those days, there was that deadly body line which became so popular, i mean in a bad way. and i think for that matter, no one faced the great west indian bowlers more than sunny gavaskar. so every era is different.

Shane warne is one of he greatest bowlers that cricket ever produced. He has been spending in this sport for the past 38 years. Such a great man after a lot of analysis only he would have comeout of this rankings.
But a person like you telling that shane warne is wrong...and whatever you told was correct. What can I say now? Since shane warne is not an indian he recognised tendulkar's greatness.Thats what the conclusion that i can come to...You being a great Indian you will inturn criticise Shane warne...

Yeah but my Brother....
You weren't born during Bradman's Era and so wasn't Sachin and Shane Warne... So stop bragging about Bradman as if you know his entire life story and stories about grand parents and kids.....
So believe in present... Because Sachin is the best in today's era. No one deny that fact....

Inida being biggest market, warne had to name Sachin first in the hope of seeling few copies of the book. Who the hail is interested in 100 names in the game played by 7/8 countries

Re: Test Team
by Yagnish Rathi on Oct 06, 2008 03:34 AM
nice team i admit...we will be whitewashed a couple of times at home n then we will win a test match against bangladesh n ppl ll say yeah..young team has started to win :P
Indian Cricket will perform much better without the aged and reflex-less Sachin, Saurov, Laxman, Dravid and Kumble. The youngsters should be chosen to play test and ODIs. Krish should make a note of this.
Matty Hayden Brian Lara Ricky Ponting/Kallis Sachin Tendulkar Kevin Pieterson Andrew Flintoff Adam Gilchrist Shaun Pollock Shane Warne Curtley Ambrose Glenn McGrath
Notable absentees : Wasim Akram, Inzamam Ul Haq, VVS Laxman, Andrew Strauss, Chris Gayle, Rahul Dravid, Stephen Fleming, Chris Cairns, Shoiab Akhtar, Anil Kumble and Viru Sehwag...
Warny, whom do you want to fool by naming 100. In your 14 years of competitive cricket, with only 6 serious competing contries, could you find more than 100? Name top 5 / 10 and say how many Indians feature in your list? Warne has the list of 100, to accomodate maximum Indians. Everybody knows India is a booming market for Cricket. No doubt Warne wants to cash it in. He has big interest in IPL also. With this gimmick Warne, your book sell in India will definitely outnumber the sale of this book in Australia.

for your information he has even ranked the 100 , so at least to someone who has a common sense will see that the no. of Indians in the first 10 ranks will be there in such a shortened list.
