Always the selection is a mismatch.Look at the hype over the fab4[thank god Viru is not included].The debate over Sachin's match practice and Ganguly's performance. Both are in the same boat if looked at negatively.Lets wait and watch for themon the ground on 9th.Select a player who has credential.I mean current player and an encumbent on their recent record. Then the Indian team would look different. All said and done I pray the mindset of fab four will be at boiling point. Rest assured they can relax, if they fail and go out they are better off than an incumbent failing and going out. They have nothing to loose.
Remeber the Mukhota (Mask) episode of NDA Govt.Critics alleged that the PM was Mukhota only. Similarly our great Srikkanth has gone a step ahead & selected two Mukhotas. Badrinath : He will never get to play. He is the Mukhota for Dada. DADA will play. He has blocked path of likes Yuvraj/Rohit Sharma/Raina. Amit Misra : He will never play. Kumble/Bhajji will get precedence. he has also effectively blocked the path of Chawla/Ojha. What an Innovative Idea to protect few and kill competition.
people here think that chawla is future for india..but they are not..he cannot last for long..he can take wickets only in some odd matches..what special deliveries chawla have like murali, warne, kumble and now mendis..chawla gets wicket only with that googly and this is only one special delivery he has..apart from this he is ordinary bowler..only players like murali, warne, kumble and now mendis can play for more than 10 years successfully. this chawla will disappear soon.. i would say brad hogg is better bowler than chawla...thank god chawla is not selected...

Spinners take time to mature.Anil kumble was in effective in foreign pitches. It's only after 2004 aus series, he is a force to recon in Overseas pitches.Give some time to the lad...he is so young...warne was thrashed by India in his first series and then he learnt the trick of the trade. The problem with this mb is everyone feels they know everything...but the fact is most of the comments are DUD
Practise Match between India ( Board President's XI ) & Australia is going Interesting Match. India ( Board President's XI ) has done there Job Excellent.
Right now we have option of two wrist spinners Piyush Chawla and Amit Misra. Both are good, but I think Amit Misra is better because he turns the ball more. I wonder whether he will get a chance or not. Misra plays for Haryana which is in the plate league while Chawla plays for UP which is in the elite league. That is why Chawla got opportunities before Misra.

who told u that the guy who turns more is better.....when did u see Anil turning the ball.....discipline is the most important thing followed by the ability to read the batsmen and deceive him in flight and whatever turn u generate

I can't agree with ur statement coz turn do matterz for any spinners, and obviously spin means to turn!! Take for instance fabulous spinners (Turners) Shane warne and Murali, they are oustanding though kumble has his fame in takin 10 wickets against Pakistan!!!!!

Chawla got opportunities before Mishra? r u in ur senses? Mishra played his first match for India atleast 5-6 years back and failed to impress. and plzz dont tell me that mishra is a bigger turner. he bowls flatter. chawla gives the ball a lot of air and deceives the batsman in the flight. chawla also has a lot of variations up his sleeves, and his wrong ones are very difficult to read. v need wicket-taking bowlers like chawla. mishra is more of a run-stopping kind of bowler.

Mishra played essentially 2 ODIs in 2003 and did not get a chance after that. He got 2 wickets in those 2 ODIs. After that he was not considered. OK it was not a great performance but not terrible either. Remember Chawla played his first test against England in Mohali and was slaughtered in that and got only one wicket. But that did not stop more ODI chances from coming his way (actually I am glad for him). I feel that Mishra should also have been given a longer run and only then we would have known if he had it in him or not.

mishra was tried in odis which is not a format to try ur spinners. he didnt get his opportunities in longer versions. now he is showing his consistent performance. probably his playing in haryana team under plate division hampers his show.

in the other match also, the other ind hopeful, amit mishra got 6/81 against for ind-a. good options unlike ausi, who dont hv any quality bolr after warne's retirement.
