Re: Is Narsh Meghrajani the biggest moron in the world?

i guess it is very normal it happens some time ,after reaching 50 sachin tries to make runs quickly by hitting some boundries... bt unfortuately he misses..
I think England were already on the backfoot ... with the field spread out, an experienced batsman like Sachin should have carried on and anchored the victory for India...Also with Sehwag at the other end runrate was never going to be a problem....

Sachin is trying to put a score atleast 50 in balance 4 ODI to take further rest. Now in two innings he scored a 50,so sachin on safe to 50% from media, public&aspiring youngsters to take further rest after ENGLAND SERIES.

Naresh, Have you ever played serious cricket in your life? Even Dhoni got out for 50. Did Dhoni also throw his wicket away? Be thankful Sachin scored 50.
Pragyan Ojha is very talented spinner.....he is the best left arm spinner in India and Englishmen always struggle against left arm spin...so why this harsh treatment to youngster??
It's quite hard to understand people praising those who hide behind the likes of Rohith's and Raina's when the start is not good (just to score some useless 30's and 40's to maintain avg) and bat up the order to make merry when the platform is well set by openers.

Start wasn't good???? eh.... and a DUHHH??? a 136 run partnership in 19 overs isn't considered good according to which analyst??

I haven't dome anything in my life to consider myself as best......the point I am trying to make is that many on this board think the way "Someone died in Mumbai becoz someone else fired in Karachi"
Re: Is Sachin Spoiling Gambir's Career
by km vb on Nov 27, 2008 10:09 AM
Sachin is not bothered, he alrady spoiled Dinesh Mongia.he tried to spoil Sehwag but Sehwaag is being knwn to his Dashing.Sachin is hiddenly spoil. He will not say directly but he will stick on to his place even at this age of 36 and also after playing more than 20 years cricket and thereby spoiling youngster of 2008,2009,2010 period aspirants for the opening slot.Very idiotic thinking.

what do u mean by regular innings. he played well in this match. Gave an important opening stand. Gambhir was just rested for this match. I'm sure India can only be benefited by having a sr player like Sachin in the side as long as he keeps performing well.

dude he has worked hard all these years and given his life and soul for cricket and he has been the backbone of indian cricket for all these years and now with some youngsters bashing runs on batting friendly wickets is enough for all of us to keep sachin out of the team. What has he done to spoil gambhir's career? Infact gambhir and all other youngsters should feel fortunate that they are playing with a legend like him. Just his presence in the team is a bonus for them. Today he played ok, not the kind of inng you expect from him, surely he was struggling a bit but that's the class of the man even then he scored a 50 at a srike rate of 87 and by the way dhoni only scored at the rate of 81 so you can't by anymeans say sachin was slow.

whom can u compare with sachin..who can hold on for 2 decades in cricket,,neither the yuvraj's or dhoni's...sachin has all the storkes in his wagon wheel..he is a well studied player..expecting him to play as good as he was, is our foolishness..he has contributed a lot to the world of cricket..so we are no one to judge his performance now...

Ricky Pointing great player and great captain as well, I say this because his record as a player and captain both are good. since last few months he's been out of form but still he is good. So great player not great captain is not always true.

Please stop digging too much into captaincy. A captain can be as good as his team. Though Ricky is the same captain why are Aussies struggling these days after the retirement of Gilli,McGrath,Langer,Warne?

Good point........but one should also understand that it was just an IPL team with members from different countries who got together 1 month(max) before the tournament. They might had found it difficult to understand each other and play as a team. Let the same team play quite a few matches together for atleast 3-4 months and we can find the difference.

All 5 fingers are not the same......are they? More over the other reason for their downfall was that they tried roping in good batsmen and forgot that even bowlers have a role to play in T20l.

Remember the Australia Vs Rest of the world matches in 1970's. Even though the world team had the best talent, and a good captain (Sobers), they could not be successful because the team was not well knit.
Re: Re: great players are not great captain
by Raghavan on Nov 27, 2008 05:30 AM
You need good talent and also at the same time, need to have a well knit team. Then an astute captain can perform well. Only there are few exeptions, where the captain himself was not a good performer, but because of shrewd captaincy he was retained - - -example Mike Brearly of England. He had a mediocre team bu did well by his shear shrewdness. It cannot be said of all successful captains.
pieterson score of 111 of 128 balls is too slow for odis nowadays, esp against the likes of sehwag/gambhir/sachin/dhoni/yuv in batting line up. just 112 runs from last 19.4 overs that also when they didnt lose any further wkt. from 158/4 in 31 overs they cud get to 270/4 only. it cud hv been 300 plus if ind were in that position.
Re: pieterson the villain for eng.
by Raghavan on Nov 27, 2008 05:35 AM
The reason for England's low score was not Petersons scoring rate. England were choked in the middle overs by Yuvi and Bajji. Otherwise, they could have crossed 300! Any way, score of 270 is not bad on this pitch. But, when you have Sehwag playing as he did, no score is a high target!
