Sehwag is unique player. He is predominantly agressive as a Batsman, yet, so simple and wears a relaxed look always. I have never seen any emotion of anger or traces of disappointment in his face.
India is fortunate to have such a wonderful cricketer in its Rank.

Also, he is the most selfless player. It does not matter if he is approaching a 50 or 100, he will still go for shots. be ODI or test matches. He is not the kind of player who will waste 10 balls if he is on 98. rather his journey from 90 to 100 is fastest. He has lost his wicket many times in 90s while going for shots but thats the way he is. A team player and a treat to watch,

its doesen't matter, team and country comes first before any player, if he is not performing then he should sit out
BCCI should think differently. It should field Aamir Khan's Lagaan team against England for last (7th) ODI. This will be befitting reply for England's upper LIp for all that they done to India over years.

One such example: In one of the interviews after he scored the second triple century (imagine someone else flying very high at that moment) he was asked to say something about the seniors. The world knows he adds as good a value as any other senior player to the Indian team, but, he was so humble to say "I always like to score more than them.....I hardly do it". This sums up everything about his feet still firmly rooted to ground.
one more unwanted stats to evoke fight between old and young, good platform those who have not much to do for their personal life including me, Great..
We all know that one single player (even if most valuable & talented) cannot win a team game consistently. It is always the team's overall performance which counts at the end, irrespective of rankings of individual players. In fact such indices may create differences in the team, because one player can give a great performance only if he gets support from other team-members, however, if he alnoe gets all the accolades, then others will feel denied. Hence we should not look too much into indices like MVPI.
I am a great fan of Sachin. He has been a tremendous player all these years who made us -Indians proud. But I have one request to him. Doesn't he think that he is an odd man out in the playing eleven in ODI? He, by continuing to play in shorter version, is not only ruining the chance of a youngster like Rohit Sharma but also burning out unnecessarily in the field when actually his presence was not necessary for the team. When Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly were considered as not suitable for ODI how selectors could found you as useful? My request is to Sachin to play as many as Tests possible but leave ODI and 2--20s to youngsters who are in their 20s. India and Indians will love you for ever if you oblige.

LET US ALL ACCEPT ONE BLUNT REALITY. FIRSTLY SACHIN IS A GOOD BATSMAN AND NOTHING MORE THAN THAT. HE CANNOT BE CALLED GREAT.
GREAT PLAYER IS SOMEONE LIKE GARY SOBERS WHO COMES AT NO: 6 AND SCORES MORE THAN 7000 RUNS IN LESS THAN 80 MATCHES.
SECONDLY THE TERM" MASTER BLASTER" SHOULD BE ATTRIBUTED TO ONLY SIR VIV RICAHRDS AND TO SOME EXTENT VIRENDER SEHWAG. SACHIN DOES'NT DESREVE THAT TITLE.
ITS THE MEDIA WHEREIN SOME SHORT DRESSED FEMALES WHO DOESN'T KNOW ABC OF CRICKET SCREWS THE WHOLE GRAVITY OF THE GAME. FEMALES SHOUL BE ONLY CHEER LEADERS.

Dear pakodi, seems u don't have any respect towards legends and women too. Comming to ur so called observations, donot consider 1 or 2 matches to conclude some one's batting position. Gary sobers was a second down batsman in 98% of his matches and make a note he is not that technically sound when compared to sachin.Richards, I agree was a master blaster but he was not the first and definitely not the last for that title. And that title was given to you during his prime days coz of his aggression on every bowler. Times have changed and so the sachins role.Comming to sehwag, he might be a MB, but barring this calender year when was he consistent.Cricket is not just throwing the ur bat at all the balls but adapt to the situation, read the conditions reach the destination. Its pity that a cricket novice like you is also taking part in the discussion which infact is not ur cup of tea.
The guys like Satish Kudtarkar, Vinish blah blah are afraid of the rest of the players of India see Dhoni, Raina, Gambhir, and many more. They doesnt spare a word of hope in these younger lot. Only Sachin Sachin. Ofcourse days of Ganguly is over accepted. Sachins days are also over accept this yaar.

as per the age criteria, ok accepted & what next you want us to do. do you want us to grab his neck & force him to retire.
if he is not performing then he should step down. but in recent games it is not the case.
