IPL

I think team should be divided into to 2 groups. Group A and Group B. Apart from current 8 teams 2 more teams can be added. May be Ahmedabad n a UP team. Each team will play against each other within their group. The top 2 teams of each group will play against each other in the semis. Followed by Final. There should be 2 matches in a day both weekdays & weekends. This will reduce the duration of the IPL.

Time but not the number of matches

should be reduced. Players do not need 3-4 days to rest after a game of T20. One or two days is fine. Agree with Warne. It should be reduced. Can have four different teams play in one day with 2 different TV channels.

Shorter version of IPL
by BadriPrasad Nagoji on Jun 01, 2008 11:03 AM

First round should be played against each other only once. First four teams play each other to get selected for four places. Top two will play best of three finals. This gives all the chance also reduces the length, in view of only one first round.

i think you do not hold the brief for icc. if not let warne speak his mind. everyone has his opinion and many indian captains are scared to speak their mind. i also hold the same opinion though it has not much worth before icc.

Listening to someone's opinion doesn't amount to bowing for their thought. I am pretty sure India has maintained its independence if you don't believe listen to Nixon's leaked tape. Don't be too paranoid and prejudiced.

Au contrare, mon frere!

Go read the whole article. See the way Shane Warne included the part about equal treatment.

We Indians could learn a lot of lessons from that. We are especially prone to falling at the feet of crass, craven "celebrities" who won't bat an eyelid to treat you like scum.

Well Warne himself was treated like trash by his fellow aussie selectors when he was denied the captaincy in 2003 following Steve Waugh's retirement due to his illustrious past involving drug abuse. So who the hell is he to talk about fairness and equality in the game ??

Speaking of celebrities I do agree with most Indians falling to their feets. Its a horror culture that India would do well to get rid off.

Speaking of independence.. has India really gained independence dudes ?? look at all the regionalism, caste wars, color wars etc and the list goes on and on. Even in movies (especially Bollywood ones) south Indians, punjabis etc are shown in typical stereotypic fashion. Unless a nation learns to respect its own differences then there can be no national integrity in the truest sense. By the way PM Manmohan Singh never had the independance of India in mind when he signed the accord with Bush on civilian nuclear power. Now the U.S will send representatives each year to inspect Indian nuclear plants as if Indians are immature primitive people. Can Indians do the same to the U.S ??? nope they can't. In fact they are ready to lick American feet. Watch and wait for next year. I won't be surprised to see the IPL is cut short by the BCCI following an aussie's advise.

Warne should become coach of Team India
by Jeet on Jun 01, 2008 12:13 AM  | Hide replies

Warne should be made the Team India coach. He loves India and loves cricket. He is also has a great sportsman spirit unlike Greg Chappel or Ricky Ponting. He is the only bowler to have acknowledged in the middle of a test series that an opponent batsman (Tendulkar) gave him sleepless nights.

Perfectly said mate...If the BCCI can pull that off then we would be having the captains of the top two teams of the IPL in charge of Indian Cricket Team. A very deadly combo.

Absolutely wrong.warne is not the one who loves india. Infact he used to dislike india so much young warne refused to travel to india & 2nd time the opportunity/fate brought him here he got his food(spaggeti) airshipped from australia. After Jaipur blast he refused to go back to Jaipur. He would be first to leave india if any shuch terror strikes in metro cities.

Is he mad to stay after seeing tens of people died in Jaipur? Will you stay when you are in a Business tour to a third world nation and see scores of people die in the street? You will be the first one to chase the flight in the runway... I think..I will do definately.

More than listening to Warne, aint it true that people as such have got sick of watching IPL with 60 matches..... It should be shortened, no doubt... And i doubt whether Warne will b interested in Indain coach job.. Its all bout money, but its a stress in India...

Absolutely wrong... Shane warne has a team where there is no coach. Youngsters are in awe of him & they obey him blindly. If he dares to give to correct advise to Dravid, Ganguly or Tendulkar, there would ten million bangloreans, Bengalis or Marathis burning his effigies & ultimately pressurizing the board to kick him out. Admit the facts... these seniors are extending their careers just for the money sake & its huge money. Else why would Kumble want to play in a 20-20
