another nonsense issue raised by bcci.this clearly shows pawar dont want anybody get even close to him.he is now trying to eliminate dalmiya from all cricket related issues.quite similar to TN CMS battle.jaya versus karuna.misuse of power is the best word to describe this.nobody shd leave such huge sum.but y now they r raising the issue? y not earlier or later?BCCI is known for its strange jokes every now and then.it is going to occupy the news bulletins for TV channels and fill in the columns for papers and no other use.

Power of Politicians
by hari ray on Mar 25, 2008 03:33 AM

The whoe thing shows the power of politicans. Dalmia is just a businessman while Pawar is a political biggy. If tomorrow, say Dalmiya comes back to helm at BCCI, he won't be able to harass Pawar like this way. Ofcourse, he will harass others like Bindra, Manohar, Lalit Modi etc. but not the Mr. pawar. That is the tragedy of India.

Remember, about 10 years back, K L Chugh (former chairman of ITC who was a real business visionary and well respected in industry) was put in a police station lock up for a whole night over some frivolous issues in Kolkata. While a small politican called Jagadambika Pal from UP stopped a flight he was about to miss by making a hoax call of bomb threat. The police traced him from the mobile no. but no one was able to touch him. Congress was not in poer in UP or center at that point of time. Alas!

by Pathan on Mar 24, 2008 06:06 PM  | Hide replies

Jagmohan Dalmiya was god father of Sourav Ganguly, who made him captain of India, Anil Kumble & Javagal srinath were the seniors in the team, with Tendualkar & Rahul Dravid, suddenly kumblw was removed from captaincy & placed ganguly as Captain !!! Now Ganguly must be upset at home !! All bad things have to end one day !!! How many bengalis are supporting Jagmohan dalimya today ! I wish them good luck !!!

Pawar is a shameless politician ....... If you look at history, Ganguly took over when the team was in turmoil (post azzubhai scams and Sachin refused to take over) and he galvanized the team with no regionalism .... harbhajan, sehwag, kaif, yuvi, pathan, nehra and even dhoni blossomed under ganguly. 2/3 Bengal players came and went by (unlike raju continuing under azzu) and India did reasonable well under Dada. If you want to forget all this and harp criticism on him ... go ahead.

'Dalmiya misappropriated over Rs 2.90 crore'
by Nirpinder Singh on Mar 24, 2008 05:50 PM  | Hide replies

He seems to be in the same category as KPS Gill who (according to the Sports Minister)utilized IHF funds for his daughter's wedding. Has the BCCI ever reported its revenue and expenditure? This sort of financial misappropriation might still be going on under Sharad Pawar. There must be some reason why he is so strongly attached with cricket even to the detriment of the Agriculture Ministry. Can't be his love for the game since he has never played cricket.

This just ghattee Sharad Pawar and the gang taking revenge from Dalmiya. Are we supposed to believe here that Mr. Pawar is as honest as Mahatma Gandhi? Mumbai police is being used to settle scores with Dalmiya.
