Only International matches, Test Cricket, oneday, or Twenty20 will have greatest of fan support and Televesion viewership. The local IPL matches with star cast may not finad favor with many viewers. One cannot see so many matches being played across the country. Is n't it "Too much of cricket"??

You right... they want to beat ICl.. i dont know why they spend so much money on 20/20.. increase wages of indian cricket players... or other indian games...

Agree with you. it is nothing but "Subji Munddi" where sell of Crikters insted of "Subji" what about our other game ? why give not encrage to them ?

I think its a great way to promote cricket globally like soccer or NHL in the west. With IPL league India will defi become a centre of attraction for sports...& guys this is a start....wait till formula 1 gets way in New Delhi 2010...All this will benefit the country infrastructure & bring in more capital...guys dont act like "the left parties" , BE OPEN TO CHANGE & TRY OUT NEW THINGS

Soccer is only popular in europe and south america. In america its the lowest rating sports events, while NFL, NBA, baseball, tennis,NHL come every season from fall-summer.
Soccer is stuck in the middle in the u.s and is not popular as in europe. While in europe, NFL tried to open a couple of teams, but its not as popular as soccer or cricket in england, and cycling in france.
How many people in europe,south america,africa, and asia follow NFL and NHL? None, thers also very few basketball players from argentina and brazilian olympic team in NBA, likewise thers only one chinese.
So far, cricket has only managd to have abt 11-12 teams and out of tht 4 teams ar able to maintain popularity of the sport in their nation.
Cricket cannot be promoted globally when they ar only recruiting top players from only those 4 teams.
