Pre 1983
by iyer venkat on Jun 30, 2008 01:00 PM  | Hide replies

Hey how about the figures Pre 1983. Surely the losses would be = to the ones played. But this is a moment to rejoice bcoz it is like an athelete who is running last in the race and still runs hard and finally wins the race. So if India have to break even then it really is a commendable effort. It would be nice to see a table of India vs Opponents Performance also

You talk as if India has played its last ODI.
Do you know that India has played maximum ODIs and other countries continuously beg us for matches?

Its better that people like Ganguly and Dravid were left out of ODIs...Otherwise the winning ratio would have gone down

India broke the record of 12 wins by Pakis against 3rd rate teams like BD and Zim, by thrashing Pakis by 140 runs.

our bowling had firepower, then the stats would have been diffrent.
we have been lossing matches due to poor quality of bowling rather than batting.

Stats do lie
by NILESH GANDHI on Jun 30, 2008 12:11 PM  | Hide replies

Half presented stats do not say complete story.. improvement is due to more matches played against likes of bangladesh..

Check stats of india vs. aus, or ind vs sa. and also home vs away.. things started turning since ganguly become captain.. hopefully it should improve in future..

In our office, there are people like Gandhi, 'spoilsports' or 'killjoys'.
When, Bonus is announced, they say, 'see if you actually receive it'.
When it comes to bank, they say, 'see that the bank does not knock it off'.
When it is in your account, they say, 'see no pickpocket gets it, when you withdraw it'.
His name is a shame on 'Father of Nation'.

staying positive is good. But not back-patting yourself..

india rise to world cricket stage with worldcup win in 1983 by beating world champs WI. Since than except one or two tournament which feature 4 or more nation (including bangladesh), we have not won anything significant. Worst, we were eliminated in first round of world cup just a year ago and now you guys are petting your back after win against bangladesh !!!

It's good to celebrate small success.. but not good to forget big failures so soon

Now onwards, the winning number will shoot up....
by Dhananjay Kumar on Jun 30, 2008 11:49 AM  | Hide replies

If this team continues and continues under captaincy of Dhoni, the winning number will not only shoot up but will never be less than losing number, until Dhoni is leading the team.

It will be interesting to watch this stat/record.

Rediff,
Thanks for publishing this stat. Please keep us updated with this record after every match.
