The methods / approach advocated by Greg Chappel is showing result. When he came, he realized that all seniors have made a caucus in team blocking entry of many deserving players. In order to break this monopoly , he first removed Ganguly and made Dravid Captain. He groomed Pathan, Raina, Dhoni, Gambhir, Dinesh Kartik. They started showing positive result. The seniors, specially Ganguly and Sachin, started feeling that there career may end earlier than that THEY planned. The seniors did not like tough handling and rigorous training that Greg imparted, as they were used to relaxed life style. They did not like to be treated like other players as they were ROYALS and other COMMONERS.
Just before 2007 World Cup, the seniors , led by Sachin started creating hulla-gulla and managed to get a team of ‘Buddhas’ (oldies) selected for World Cup. Chappel’s hand were tied and was not given free reign.
However, this Budhha team made inglorious exit from World Cup due to superb performance of Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid. Now the question was some body was to be made scape goat.
So sachin gave an interview in TOI (to a Marathi Correspondent ) in which he put all blame on Chappel. The day it was published, Chappel resigned in the evening. Whole of India thought him to be the culprit. And the careers of all oldies has been prolonged.
1.Best opening batsman 2.No 1 in both test and ODI performances. 3.Highest no.of centuries. 4.highest no.of man of the matches. 5.Highest paid player through adds.
6.Poor performance in 2nd innings when india is going to chess a big total. 7.Poor captaincy. 8.Planning for 2060 retirement.. 9.Most un-luckey player that india has never won a single world cup in his presence.

point no. 6 not valid u say this coz u remember that very few in which he failed. Pt no. 7.It was Sachin's Badluck that he had players like Jadeja, Azhar & mongia who had fixed their place in team & were fixing the matches
Pt. no. 8 is useless no meaning in that.
Pt. no 9. player is responsible for his performance & team is responsible for result. Oz won 4 in row can u tell me 1 name coz of him the won all 4 WC. They won by there team performance & not coz of 1 player.

Captain has role to play but Why he don't come upto the order when V need stable partnership against strong team.
