This mixture comprises of all time from birth to death of cricket. The separate elevens should have been picked for decades like 1951 - 1960, 1961 - 1970 and so on. An eleven of the new generation players like Mendis, Pravin Kumar, Hashim Amla should also be picked up for the decade from 2011 - 2020.

Sachin is great for only INDIANS who madly worship him. When compared with the list mentioned above, Sachin stands nowhere. At the most he can be included as 12th man, for the chap who plays for records and commercials and nothingelse.

Well its very difficult to select Sachin Tendulkar (or for that matter any other modern great like Ponting, Kallis or Lara) in a all time world XI. Look at who Sachin is competing against for a middle order slot :
1. Don Bradman - unquestionably the greatest batsman ever 2. Garry Sobers - undobtedly the greatest all rounder ever (8032 runs @ 57.78 and 235 wickets in 93 tests) 3. Viv Richards - the most agressive batsman the world has ever seen (had 90 plus strike rate in limited overs cricket in 70s and 80s when 4 runs per over was considered outstanding). Also, one of the finest players of fastbowling and one of the hardest to dismiss. These 3 would easily walk into anybody's all time world XI. The only modern day great cricketer who can walk into an all time world XI is probably Kallis - that too largely because of his all round abilities

Raman, even if you made such a list of only great Indian cricketers then I am sure Shrikant,Vishvanath,Prasanna,Venkatraghavan,Balaji,T.shekhar, srisant,VVS Laxman,Shiv Ram Krishnan,Venkatpathi Raju and sudhakar Rao from your motherland would be the first elevan players.Gavaskar and Tendulkar would probably make 12th and 13th positions, but I am not sure.
I have very carefully omitted Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid from this list to give deserving representation to the south zone players,as these two are outsiders.

do you have any cricketing sense????????? I have my dought about you. The selected team is for test not for ODI. and in any test team gavaskar will find opener slot
well ... the insanity of these cricket writers shines through with Sachin, Lara, Akram, Mcgrath, Murlitharan gettin a look in..... and how on earth Gooch could be a part of an All time World XI... even he wudn't pick himself in any such team... and how Saeed Anwar is better than Dravid...

Ask Jyoti Basu to raise this point to include Ganguly in world XI ! Shame on you, there are Sachin, Dravid Vengasarkar who are better than Ganguly.
well ... the insanity of these cricket writers shines through with no Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, Murlitharan, Mcgrath getting getting a look in ... and how on earth Graham Gooch is cud be there... he wud never pick himself if he ever makes his All time world XI....
No Sachin, No Dravid, No Jim Laker, No Murali, Vaas, Akram..... On top of that they have saed Anwar and Gilchrist.... Either they were selecting a B team or they are in some mental Hostipal.
