Steve Bucknor made the scape goat in match fixing by Cricket Australia.
by Sunil Dharam on Jan 14, 2008 10:57 AM  | Hide replies

Steve Bucknor has been made the scape goat in this whole issue...The issue was not wholly about wrong deceisions by Bucknor... Infact it was about the Aussie cheats. Steve Bucknor was chosen for this sereis by Cricket Australia bcos of the fact about his history of controversy with Indians in the past, even if Steve Bucknor had given all his deceisions correct there was another australian umpire with instructions (to cheat) from Cricket Australia at the other end, it so happened in this match that Steve had a forgaettable match & the other australian umpire also cheated (as instructed) the cummulative effect was so many wrong deceisions against indians.
Now dickie Bird has been roped in by the Australians(whites commraderie)..to get the focus away from Australians & on Steve
No mention can be found of the Australian umpire who infact gave more wrong deceisions than Steve Bucknor, he is been taken out of the picture and he will then continue in international cricket giving deceisions in favor of the aussies, till he will be implicated one day and thrown out(after a decade maybe).. remember another aussie umpire Darryl Hair who was banned from umpiring after serving Cricket Australia for more than a decade.

Lloyd is blind
by Sam on Jan 12, 2008 04:26 AM  | Hide replies

Well, I remeber how Lloyd was asking his bowlers to bawl bouncers against indian batsmen. So I'm not surprised that he is supporting Bucknor because they both are same.

oh yeah llyod is pissed because bucknor is a fellow west indian ?
by raj on Jan 12, 2008 12:33 AM

what about bucknor, being an elite umpire mocking dravid which was caught on air ?
what about those loads of stupid decisions against indians ?
well, im sure he'd appreciate it if an indian umpire gives abt 15 bad decisions in one match against his side and his side with 5 pace bowlers lose badly.

llyod hits out at removal of bucknoor
by amarjitsingh on Jan 12, 2008 12:01 AM

mr llyod ,as it is confirmed that bucknoor made mistakes balatanly and appears to be biased towards indians ,weel shold not he or for that any one be punished for such balantant mistakes. You your self have been /are a powerful member at IC but now enough of that ,by ignoring the subcontinent players and not having any indian umpire in the elite panel the ICC is palying games .the west indians shold come out of the inferiorty complex and stop kowtowing to their erstwhile white masters ,and if they think that by still supporting the whites they can down play the subcontinent they are wrong.they may still call MASSA /MASSa to their erstwhile masters ,but now as i said enough is enough ,cricket is no more a gentle man's game and west indians should remember that, the subcontinent teams are now realizing the true character of the raxcist ICC match refree Mike Proctor .And mr llyoid please tell did SA in the apartheid days did mike proctor ever allowed you to his house or ever expressed desie to play with the blacks.Well to to put in short it is time for subcontinent teams to come together and see that they are represented in large numbers in ICC and racist elements and their stooges who still think that they can benefit by siding with them and calling them MASSA -MASSA should be kicked out of ICC board once and for all and mr llyod cricket is no more a gentlemen game and this is the out come the racist ICC and its stooges but now the as all the cash is coming from subcontinent the

Mr. asr:

No one in this world is asking us Indians to keep mum. We are entitled to shout at the top of our voices that umpiring was bad.

But forcing ICC to remove that umpire is setting a wrong precedent.. Just as Procter's precendent of convicting on hearsay evidence.

Cheers.

Mr. Loyyd - Those who comit mistakes should be penalised
by Kakes on Jan 10, 2008 05:26 PM  | Hide replies

Bucknor is removed, not because Indian's didn't like him.. It is because he's erred... It's not the historic times, where king is almighty... and you have to suffer every mistake committed by the almighty.. Steve Bucknor is a paid umpire... if someone who is getting paid for his job and he was not performing for his pay... and his follies are causing serious damages to the stake holders.. he ought to be penalised... It is not your servility times.... Mr. Loyyd... and noone is a master and noone is a servant... If I am working for you and I keep on committing mistakes that cause severe damage to you.. will you keep smiling to me.. will you keep me paying?.. Just take home the stupid old man.. and chill...

Lloyd's displeasure at Bucknor's removal
by Arvind Nandan on Jan 10, 2008 01:09 PM  | Hide replies

Lloyd may be displeased, but if there is no penalizing of such authoritarian & autocratic umpires, they will continue to cause a greater harm to the prestige of the game.

Bucknor has done enough to be severely penalized and that is what happened. Likewise, Hair had done too much to get penalized. How does Lloyd propose to rectify the long chain of blunders that these incompetent umpires commit, with no remorse? By patting their backs? Remember, even after this drama at Sydney, Bucknor was remorseless and said he was in good form, and mistakes can happen. That is being arrogant & hardnosed, as against say, a statement like Simon Taufel's, who had regretted his few wrong decisions during India's recent tour of England and admitted his mistakes.

That, therefore, is the difference. Indians never made a noise about removing him as we know there is a human element and mistakes will happen. But yes, Bucknors and Hairs deserve the treatment they have got. It is a lesson to the umpires as well, that 'they are not above the game'.

true, bucknor didnt even bother apologising after the first innings. he probably got too arrogant after his extension for the next 4 years. he forgot he was getting older , impatient, and partial.

Come out of the vindictive spirit of "teaching lessons".. that itself shows that cricket has lost and vindictiveness has taken over.

Bucknor Issue
by Mukesh Kumar on Jan 10, 2008 12:23 PM  | Hide replies

Lloyd is very right in his opinion. Think and analyse this issue separately from the loss of India. It is not a question of what suits India or for that matter any other country. It is more about what is right to do in this situation. India and BCCI should have their raised their objection about the appointment of Bucknor before the tour. Afterall, we know Bucknor for long and can't trust his decision making. It certainly set precedence for other countries to demand umpire change if few decisions doesn't suit them.

Loyd's reaction is to be expected. He is a racist West Indian, whose black pride does not tolerate Indians. He has never got over the loss of the 1983 World Cup to India. He is the man who resorted to bodyline bowling in order to
defeat Bedi's India, after they had scored a historic win chasing 400 runs. Almost every
single Indian front-line batsman suffered severe
injury, as the West Indies fast bowlers went round the wicket, aiming for the Indians' body.

Clive Lloyd it was as a match referee who let off the South African skipper after he had hit Kapil Dev on the shin by deliberately holding his bat out, while running, even as Kapil Dev was fielding the ball. Clive Lloyd, on the incident being referred to him said he had NOT SEEN IT!

This man is a SOB; behind the mask of an elder statesman is a malicious racist cricketer seething with hatred for India and Indian cricketers. Look back over the years, and you'll see that even as other West Indians have lauded Indian players from Gavaskar to Sardesai, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid,
Mohinder Amarnath, Navjot Singh Sidhu, yes, even
Vinod Kambli, this man has rarely found it in him to say a word in acknowledgement of any Indian player's good performance.

Ashok:

The one who opposes me is a racist.. ?? That's not a fair argument. And you seem to have gone back only 24 years to justify your accusations?

Maybe Lloyed hates that his country's name contains India etc.. come out with more stupid arguments mate.. we're waiting for you to give us some more laughs..

And you seem to have hung on every word he has spoken since he was born.. to so surely tell us that when all of West Indies sings praises of any cricketer ever born on the Indian soil, Mr. Lloyd has never uttered any word of praise for them.. .

Hmmmm... Maybe it's YOU who don't like Lloyd and hence are coming out with all sorts of unwarranted criticisms for a perfectly valid statement from him..

ICC choses the umpire. that's where the problem's source is.. they have very few.. and have not adequately put money back on training , facilitating the umpires or tech.. they eat, sleep on money from cricket.

Lloyd is another india hater!

Lloyd has no love lost for India. The Windians still couldn't digest their 1983 WC loss.

Before the final Lloyd used to say that they will decorate their bedroom with the world cup. Sleep with the cup under his pillow. Don't know for what other purpose they will use it for. May be use as a Mug for Beer!

He made Srilanka win 1996 WC semis after the crowd disturbance. That was totally unlawful and how can a country win a match by default. Had the same disturbance happened in Srilanka what would have happened?

Shiva:

All these arguments are only fueling the growing worldwide belief that Indians are paranoid and are suffering from a severe VICTIM complex..

The West Indies is against us because we beat them 25 years back, Pakistan is against us coz they are our arch rivals, England is against us because we drove them out of our country, Australia is against us because they have accused one of our players, New Zealand is against us because it is close to Australia, Bangladesh is against us because they have produced Taslima, Sri Lanka is against us because Ravan hails from there, Zimbabwe is against us because they have beaten us once when we least expected them, Kenya is against us because you think so, Sachin is against us because there are many amongst us who think so, Harbhajan is against us that's why he got into a controversy, Venkatraju is against us because he gave Maninder LBW to have the Madras tied test, Ratan Tata is against us because he has launched a $2500 car, ......

Keep adding to it mate.. I'm waiting with baited breath.

Do not know what makes a seasoned politician with vast interests in sugar business sudden liking for cricket if not money. what cricket does rajeev shukla a jounalist turned politician know.

We are playing cricket like poilics with all these crooks behind teh scene. hook or crook get it, money behind all. Beat Australia in their turf and speak up on umpiring - then you can say despite umpiring we played well.
Targetting umpires sounds kiddish and crying wolf. Prove your cricketing talent by winning and then point at umpiring. Why was Symonds booed in India. Are we not behaving racist too. What is the difference between indian and the english or australians who are generally refered racist for decades for their demeaning gestures to other races playing cricket.
