harbhajan contribution is very less and now he is also obnoxious weed, which has to be removed and planted with allrounder plants.

Aussie-rules cricket
by on Feb 26, 2008 07:13 PM

So the entire rest of the cricketing world is supposed to be mature and accept that uttering *witty*, *funny*, *non-racial* slang at *arbitrarily chosen moments* to get under the opposition skin (!!only those who are not legends, and are sure to react in non-Australian ways, like Bhajji & Ishant (un?)fortunately did!!) is *just* part of Australian culture, and therefore of world cricket! Meanwhile, the Indian culture of shutting up and getting on with the game of cricket is timid, and not the way cricket is to be played. And non-timid REACTIONS to the Aussie verbal fun and games is to be reported and scanned for racial and all other sorts of code violations?!

For all their exceptional talent and remarkable record, the likes of Symonds, Ponting and Hayden are a disgrace to the fun-loving Aussie populace, for the extent to which they are taking their *fun* loving nature to. Their lack of self introspection when mouthing off, both on the field and in the press, is simply galling. I wonder what if anything will educate such illiterates!

Boycott Symonds and the Aussies:
by on Feb 26, 2008 03:59 AM

Boycott Symonds and the Aussies:
We need to boycott IPL games involving Symonds, Ponting, Hayden. These guys are biggest India/Indian haters. If they had no monetary benefits, no doubts they'd be spitting on us. Shame on BCCI and the franchises to go against public sentiments and throw cash at them. But we can make it collectively right. For our national pride we can make sure that these players are not profitable options for the money-monger franchises! Please pass the word and lets boycott hate-mongers !!!

Indian need to learn smart sledging!
by Gorango Thakurta on Feb 25, 2008 11:34 PM  | Hide replies

A pattern is emerging from the unsavory stuff going on between the Indians and the Ozzies. The Ozzies have mastered the art of cursing without getting caught. Some of the Indians are sensitive and react to the provocation - and foolishly attract the punishment. Essentially, to get even with the Ozzies, Indians will need to master the art of smart cursing. And not to let this nonsense get under the skin. As well, for the sake of their own future credibility, the Ozzies need to muzzle this Symonds guy... he is one genuine piss-off artist.

you guys just dont get it - good sledging is often funny witty cutting etc - aussies do it from the cradle to the grave - its part of our culture - it doesnt involve racial abuse, and should not involve abusing the player - its designed to get under the skin of your oponent and make him think about something else
you can annoy someone without cursing -

why is it then that they complain to the officials about racial abuse, Why do they target those bowlers who tend to threaten their team, Hrbhajan, Ishant Sharma. If its not sledging its something else like they do to Muralitharan and a host of other bowlers. Is it your culture to demoralize the oppsition bowlers who do well against you. Is that the way you get under the skin, by undermining the very foundations on which the bowlers career depends. Then I am sorry the to say that its not falettering to be a part of such culture

sym as player may b good but bad as a personality. but v ind hv given him second highest price in ipl. shame on india. shame on those industrialists bidding him. shame on those who will watch these rubbish ipl.
symonds is mn* ky but indians r do*ky n all these industrialists shud b dumped to the arabian sea who r without any self respect for the country. sorry to say that but i m frustrated by our own ppl.

if ishant is fined by referee for his outburst against sym. then what abt sym who started it?

Why is it that symonds is always in the thick of the things, they are using his race as a peg to hang their complaints on, to give their false allegations a semblence of truth

to be handled with intellegence
by Kakes on Feb 25, 2008 10:58 PM

We should neither be emotional nor to be stupid.. We need to handle it with much more maturity and intelligence.. They are playing mind game and would probably be laughing all their way with the way we responded, exactly the way they planned it. They were provocative and we were too stupid to fall into the trap... What we should have done is pay them back in a much more thought out and planned manner..

a) Target the gullible, especially the symmo variety.. Just smile to him and systematically sledge, and provoke well within the permissible limits... Use any south indian language and shower him with choicest swear words... and laugh making him fully aware that we are making fun of him or rather swearing him... or just paste smiles and just poke him gently with nuggets like - "we know why you are having zinc cream always on your lips because you might be over using it for pleasing your ICC bosses... and of course our IPL bosses"... hit him where it really hurts... but be clearly aware of the racial rules and icc strictures...

b) When they provoke, Gandigiri is the best weapon, smile with folded hands, may be a namasthe posture.. that's enough to punch where it really hurts..

no more cries over split milk.. injustice... just grow up mates... and give them back... (if any reader of this opinion can pass this to indian team think tank.. it should be great

AUSSIES WORLD CHAMPS - WORST BEHAVED SIDE
by jayahkrishna g on Feb 25, 2008 09:54 PM

The Aussies seem to have lost confidence in their cricketing talent and are resorting to sledging. It is high time that they shut their mouths on the field.
