Whatever one might say about the intention of the IPL, I wish to say that it is nothing but sheer wastage of money on the so called players who are very rich and earning enough and enough. Let me put on record that I am not jealous about these people. Instead, if these bidders can do something for the poor people - be it for their education, giving them shelter, employment etc etc it would have been for a noble cause. When a vast majority of the people are living below the poverty line (BPL), when the farmers are commiting suicide, the so calleed rich people should have utilised their resources for them.

well i am not complaining about it u r well they became rich through their sheer brillance and hard work who the hell r you to tell them where to spend their money
The IPL will make lot of money and there should be 50% tax on this revenue generated so that these fund can be used for poor people and for other development projects.

For what this base price.? Vijay Mallya had this stuff sufficiently and left it for the nation to enjoy. Dhoni and Yuvaraj came much later. By the time the stuff was sufficiently used.
BCCI has turned cricket ground into a vegetable market.Earlier BCCI claimed that they intend to promote cricket at grassroot level but it seems thats is only interested in making more money and making life more miserable for smaller town players.
Too much T20 matches will kill cricket where the one n only objective of a batsman will be hit every ball like a monkey.

See above.Mr Kasak has started the bidding. At present the rate is Rs 1.
While this may be good for cricket. Spare a thought for the starving millions. If this is globalisation of sport and business then it should be spurned.
Sab bikaoo hai bhaaya ... kal ko pata nahi koi na koi Sachin Tendulkar ko bhi khareedne pahuch jaayegaa...aur meri baat maano wo hindustan ke khel itihaas mein sabse sharmnaak din rahegaa...
1947 Aug - India gains Independence. Tryst with Destiny is announced. 1951 end - 1st 5 year plan presented. Growth and prosperity promised. 1990 approx - Indian economy is opened up to foreign investment. Growth and prosperity promised. 2003 - India Shining slogan invented, and again growth and prosperity promised for EVERYONE. 2004 approx - BJP out UPA in, growth and prosperity promised; change championed. The twin angels ride thru the country on shining white horses like champions, promising one and all a better life. 2008 start - IPL auction begins - finally, growth and prosperity become a reality - growth of cricket to 24x7 and prosperity for men (who run around all day) and earn seven figures for 6 weeks of work!! No, not the men or women who run around tilling the land, working the daily grind, riding in over crowded buses and trains or protecting our borders and our freedoms or doing other *little* things that protect and spur on our growth and prosperity .... I am talking about *ICONS*.
