A con job on Indians.
by Sunil Dharam on Feb 03, 2008 12:06 PM

Not only has Mike Proctor failed in his duties, at least twice including the Symmonds stumping, He has history of such contoversies, like umpire darrel hair..who is now banned for good, are these people on the payroll of Cricket Australia one has to wonder, bcos it is not a single individual who is failing it is a set of people failing all at the same time & also getting full support of Cricket Australia in this. BCCI has failed Indian cricket bigtime, Cricket Australia cheats have pulled out an huge CON job over indians in the Sydney Test.
Which they could have never won otherwise.

You are the first one!!
by Sunil Dharam on Feb 03, 2008 11:43 AM

Mr. Vegsarkar, you are the first one to raise a genuine & a very important grievance indians have. Why did Mike Proctor give the deceision he gave??? which was such an balant injustice to Harbhajan and the Indians. Following up the error he made while giving the deceision as a third umpire, which only a blind man could have not seen, also the umpteen umpiring errors, more than 90% of them against the Indians, all point to a conspiracy against Indians. Why umpiring errors happen only in Australia?? Why not in South Africa, England or any other country??
It will be a great injustice on Indian cricket lovers, if BCCI cannot provide any answers to these genuine concerns.

How About You, Mr. Vengsarkar ?
by Ramanjaneyulu Gandluri on Feb 02, 2008 02:54 PM  | Hide replies

Before uttering some non sense against Mr. Procter, Mr. Vengsakar should introspect himself and pose the question to his other collegues in the Selection Committee as to whether they have performed their duties properly?

Mr. Vengsarkar does not deserve to be the Chairman of Selectors, if he does not know the difference between a diamond and a piece of charcoal. He can do well by writing some columns for a marathi newspaper and earning his livelihood thereat.

I feel Vengy is the best selector so far and tried to as as fair as possible. There is no selector who can satisfy all millions of Cricket fans in India. But dont you think he took some bold decisions which no one else did as they didnt want to face questions.
His panel selected Kumble as the captain even though there was pressure to make Dhoni as test captain.
He also brought back Ganguly when everyone wrote him off and look at the way Ganguly came back and proved himself. He did the same for Zaheer who was ignored irrespective of fantastic performances in county. He did good for Pathan by forcing a break and bringing him back at right time.
He also did the selection without much zonal influences.
I think he is the best in the history of Indian Cricket

Hey Gandluri:
The point of the story is not whether the Colonel knows the difference between a diamond and a piece of charcoal.

The point is whether Procter is mistaken in giving his decision.

And since you have written something in this forum, I trust you have performed all the duties you are supposed to perform?.. :-)

Cheers!

promising talents

The so called young promising talents needs careful handling and BCCI should not have rushed over-board by sidelining experienced
senior and dependables. The recent 20-20 game has proved beyond that lack of experience was hugely visible and young promising talents fallen like a pack of cards. The one dayers too might turn the same way. BCCI & vengasarkar needs to explain it to the cricket loving public about it

this idiots selection is craeting havoc--his vendetta aginst Dravid upset the entire applecart, his taeming up with Tendiya to screw captaincy and subsequent annoinment of dhoni are the biggest disasters--tendiya is like the CPI(M)--power without accountability aided and abetted by vengy and the mumbai lobby--they are responsible for the sorry state--Mr Vengy--look at yourself before passing judgement on others---

wat about veng?
by heroraja on Feb 02, 2008 12:18 PM  | Hide replies

vengsarkar blames procter for the way procter performed he shd review his performance and even after hearing the reactions all around the country he shd atleast showe some sort of reconciliation for his nonsense selection.a real joker of our country.he is not fit to comment procter.procter try to damage bhajji's career whereas veng has spoiled the careers of dada and dravid already. So who is more useless?

the man who try to spoil or spoiled
one bowler -by procter
two batsman by useless idiot veng respectively?

whole country will say veng has done more damage to indian team than procter.Procter's damage was repaired.whereas the damage done by veng was beyond repair by any body.

Vegsarkar tenure has seen some othe best days for Indian cricket.
1-Registered first test match win in South Africa.

2- Defeated west Indies in theie country.

3- Defeated England in their country.

4- This Unique feat of defeating two big teams in their backyard is done after 36 years ( Ajit Wadekaras Captain did in 1971), GR* Achievment.

5- Winninig Inagural T20 World Cup without BIG-3 or BIG -5 (Sach,Dada,Wall,Lax, Kumble).

So nobody should complain about Vensarkar.

He is man who played 100 Test matches (No other selector has/had that stature) is authority to talk on International Matters.

He is activelyinvolved in cricket by running Academy . Many young Indian players are product of his academy.

Those who are writing in this column most of them never hold sieson ball or bat in hand.

Well said Karunakar:

And in any event, the point is whether Procter was justified in taking that monumental decision against Bhajji. The point is not whether Vengsarkar is a good selector (which incidentally he IS, as proven by Karunakar).
So cheers, mates!

Hey Aussie ki taise:
Your grievances on Vengsarkar aside, do you think Procter was justified in taking the decision against Bhajji?
THAT is the point of this whole story on which you seem to be commenting totally at a tangent..

mr.vengsarkar,
i believe you are a experience player but becoming a selector you have lost experince and the team that you have selected will comeback with empty hands. it is very bad part that you did not balanced the team with seniers who are in form & upcoming players.this will give very bad result.

Dhoni??? Is He really desrving
by vivek jain on Feb 02, 2008 11:30 AM  | Hide replies

This is in response to the omission of Ganguly from the ODI team.Reasons given by Vengsakar was vague and incomplete. It clearly shows that Dhoni is insecure and had 1st Dravid dropped and then the in form Ganguly. And to top it all his personal form after taking the captaincy is up for discussion. He has ability to perform but as a captain I doubt.T20 was not due to extra-ordinary captaincy but it was a collective team effort with his contributions involved too.
Sehwags selection in the 3rd test clearly showed what changes he can bring to the psyche of the team.Dhoni was avoiding this as it seems that Sehwag with his current form; and of he can continue with similar form for one year Dhoni instantly loses his captaincy for the experienced pro; incidentally Sehwag was quipped to take up the captaincy after Sourav.
Sehwag is a guy who doesn't depend on form too much and thats why inspite of a poor showing in the Ranji games and tour games in Ausralia he was picked and he performed, whereas Dhoni if not in form is just a waste.Sehwag is a classy batsmen but the same cannot be said about Dhoni becoz he is anything but delightful while batting...Absolutely no class.
