The ICC Chairman thought that by getting a white judge to mediate will solve the problem, as the white will take the side of the whites. Unfortunately it turned out that the New Zealand judge was fare in his judgement. Reason why the ICC Chairman came out to the defence of the Cricket Australia and apologised for the outcome. He openly stated that the judgement was unfair, as if to say, that sorry I did my best to get fair judgement but unfortunately the judge betrayed me and all other white. He was never expected to be honest and fair.
Proctor erred in not disciplining Inzamam...also McGrath should have got a 7 match ban for asking Sarwan how Lara's tool looks like thereby alluding that Sarwan is a gay....that is a very serious allegation indeed!!
Proctor is a weak math referee, we need a strong one like Sunny Gavaskar or Javagal Srinath!!

Do any one know what the meaning of "Maa ki" which was the one that Harbhajan said according to Sachin. So when is That word better than Monkey?
At least Monkey is better. But what a filthy word that was. Only people in Slums use them. And most of the Indian cricketers are third class citizens who lived in the slums so they wont think it is bad.

@Tim: Between a genuine comedian known as Mr. Chris (who roams around on this board) and yourself, I can't choose whom to laugh on more.. :-) Chris says, "don't say monkey.. but you can really swear and use profanity like F word, B word etc., to mentally disintegrate the opposition".. that's the aussie way, has been the aussie way and will be the aussie way.. Now you come in and prove that chris as well as the entire australian population comes from slums.... ho ho ho.. you guys are really making us Indians laugh more and be happy than we have ever done, not even in 1983 were we happier.. ha ha ha.. Keep it up mates! Keep it coming. We like it! :-)

Unfortunately lot of north Indians use this kind of language even in ordinary conversation to show anger. Like the word b**rd etc has become such a common word that they are no longer potent. Bhajji shoul dbe given about 100 whip lashes for saying what he said in addition to ban.
RE:Vengsarkar is right!!
by Bhasmasur on Feb 01, 2008 09:19 PM
That would have been in the best interests of Indian cricket cos Bhaji has been a non-performer for 7 years now...except that great series in March 2001, he has been a total letdown.... There are better spinners like Pragyan Ojha, Piyush Chawla, Kartick...
RE:RE:Vengsarkar is right!!
by Indian on Feb 02, 2008 10:00 AM
Ya Bhasmasur: It would have served two purposes.. like you said, we could have dumped Bhajji as we have already exploited him enough in 2001. And also by life banning all those who come from slums (like the entire Aussie cricket team), it would have been ensured that there was not a single player left in the aussie team. Not even their sheffield shield players would have been spared coz each and every one would have been kicked out by Tim. He doesn't like players who live in slums. Right from Border, to Merv Hughes to McGrath, to Warne to Ponting.. all would have been cooling their heels outside the stadiums. Only Gilly would have survived probably. But poor Gilly! whom would he have kept wickets for? No bowlers, no other batsmen to support him. Yes Tim. We do agree that you should go ahead with your anti-Slum dwellers plan. Cheers and all the best.
Both BCCI management and selection team keep making utter non-sense comments. I won't call it Vengsarkar's fault, he had been BCCI for so long, such habits come via surrounding.

Yeah Maneesh:
The comments from Vengasarkar are definitely nonsense, aren't they? Why malign such a staunch upholder of justice like our dear Mr. Procter? We should have taken the ban silently, refrained from appealing against his decision, and then there wouldn't have been this ugly situation because of Mr. Hansen. Look where it has got us? There are many (like Vengasarkar) who have started to believe that the Reverend Procter might have failed in his duties.. there are others who have started questioning whether Saint Andrews was right in bad-mouthing Harbhajan in the first place.
Yes, all because of nonsense people like Vengasarkar.. I agree with you. Vengasarkar is nonsense!
it is a pity crooks like vengsarkar are in bcci selection board. it is even worse he talks nonsense to press. why cant these asses take retirement for the benefit of the nation ? perhaps these parasites think only they constitute the nation.

VENGSARKAR YOU MUST SHUT UP, don't put your foot in your mouth. You have succeeded in manipulating Mr. Sharad Pawar, and now your bread is buttered on both sides. What else you want, so just shut up and enjoy the crumbs thrown by BCCI.
Australia do not believe in any of their bowlers to dismiss Sehwag in the coming tri series ODI.
They will be going to dismiss him by run out like in T-20 match today. So Sehwag should take care of this and play an anchor role in the ODI matches also like in Test match.
I think the present selection committe is much better than Dalmia men, who were puppets in the hands of ICC. The way Vengasarkar has handled the crisis is really impeccable. Remember, those Dalmia men were unable to save Sachin when he was accused of ball tempering?
Vengasrkar also must be congratulated for abondoning the regional politics in cricket, now a days there is no regional reservations and the selection is purely on merit.
It's a real testimony to the man's caliber, who was once adjudged as the best batsman in cricket test cricket.

I am sure you are from maharashtra. and when you say "the selection is purely on merit", you mean "the selection is purely on m..aharashtra"

This is one statement which I am surprised to see from many readers. How many players are from Maharastra in Indian team?
RE:Better than Dalmia
by Nagesh on Feb 01, 2008 08:43 PM
Thanks. I was thinking the selection is purely on agen basis and not performance or merit. May be age decides merit
RE:RE:Better than Dalmia
by explorer on Feb 02, 2008 06:44 PM
If age is the factor probably Kumble might not have become the captain for tests. If this comment is with Ganguly in mind, we need to remember that it was Vengy who brought him to team when Ganguly was almost written off and in fact Vengy made him play even the world cup simply because Ganguly was playing very well once the chance was given. Same was the case with Kumble when he too played the world cup. Whether young or aged, people need to person and they will get the opportunity.
After this performance of 74 all out guess Dhoni and his boys atleast learn to respect the seniors in the team...Ill advised selection on overseas tours has sent the seniors back home and the youngsters are all at sea
RE:Twenty 20 debacle
by Philo on Feb 01, 2008 08:09 PM
doesnt matter..these same juniors atleast won us some "World" title, which these great seniors havent delivered in 17 years of non stop cojeding (spanish).
oh BTW, who won 1983 World cup cricket? Everyone knows the answer. Does anyone remember Auzzies and West Indies did beat India in that World Cup. LOL
RE:Twenty 20 debacle
by Manoj Pandey on Feb 01, 2008 08:50 PM
India also defeated the same Aussies & West Indies in league matches. So the team was even with both strong teams in leagues too. And India defeted WI 2 times (1 league, 1 final).

Yes Danny Babu:
It's very easy to do what you have done. I will demonstrate.
Vengasarkar may be the chief of the bunch of jokers, but what about you? You are the biggest joker I have seen on this forum. Worst still, you haven't been sent back to that mental asylum you broke out of? See. It's very easy to make any accusation without any shred of logic or evidence.. :-) Cheers.
We have seen great batting from Dilip majestic when he was in his eliment.I wish he was that sure as the chairman of the selection board. His ODI team selection lack imagination. It is true one has to give younger players opportunity to face fire but there must be a good blend of young and experience.Exept Sachin none can stand on his own in ability to clear the team in case of crisis.Dhoni has energy but yet to face the real music of fire fighting.I would have inclu ded Saurav and Dravid in the ODI.Saurav and Sachin have many pathbreaking partnership and Dravid shall always remain the crisis man.Biru shall be busy to re-establish himself once again as Ganguly did before he induldge in decision making. Now that Youvraj is also a suspect in full fitness Ganguly presence was a must.I dont give much in the result of last 20:20 where India was thrushed and it may happen again but 50 over game is different ball game. Our expectation was different from Dilip Vangsarkar
