Who cares about these news ?
Only you sick cricket lovers, who are good for nothing. The whole day , you can waste in front of a stupid game, in which there is no talent required.
People like these should be checked in a mental hospital.

It seems that Govt is unnecessarily spending on security to cricketers who make huge sums of money. The cricketers and BCCI should be told to have private security at their own cost and the Govt. apparatus should be available for the service of common man. But majority of our security force seems to have been deployed to protect politicians and now cricketors. Who cares for public watching these matches in thousands.

Have some sense. Do you pay tax? Its our money. I don't ask to stop spending for security.

There will be extra cost involved in security deployment for conducting the cricket match. BCCI have to pay for it.

Will BCCI share the extra burden with Government?

There are no bomb blasts in Chennai because of the language problem. Terrorists are not able to communicate correctly and fear landing in trouble

The ordinary citizens become sitting ducks
by Basker Mathrubootham on Dec 09, 2008 09:02 AM  | Hide replies

When the entire police force becomes mobilized for the cricket teams, what will ordinary citizens get? They will just be passive observers in the scene and see their homes getting ransacked and live in fear. This is ludicrous.

100 policemen for every team-member. 6 commandoes for every player...this is like Z security arrangement. Is BCCI getting it for free?

Flintoff has a higher probability of getting shot in England than Chennai.

Security & Cricket
by TanPanLan on Dec 09, 2008 05:41 AM  | Hide replies

Guys Why make empty noises on Rediff on Why so much security? Has any educated Chennai Dosa waalhs make a single demo on Mumbai carnage & this cricket match could have been an opportunity for them to show solidarity with ....hello our Indians else where. I hope Chennai guys hera this. They could have demonstrated peacefully -non violently in front of the stadium, in front of the DGP office, In front of Mr K's house & give him a memorandum signed by 100000 or something ,Demo In front of Hotels where these Kings Sachin, Dhoni & Kevin jokers are staying. Make a statement dammit & make an impact for god sake.... But knowing Chennai that goes to sleep at 8.30 PM, what can U expect other than sizzling iddlis & masala dosas. And what is the media doing in this times of National mood. Guys Rally around to tell Pawar & the gang the money hungry Bxxxxxxs that they must have the national interest in mind. See the waste of so many para military security? Who is paying for all the Birayanis & cokes these soldiers are consuming. I rather protect the families of innocent citizens of by lanes of Taj & Cama hospital in Mumbai with this level of security than wasting on these cricketers? Any one in Chennai care to voice or otherwise go to sleep at 8.30 Pm...You are better off...

Colonial mentality---- all you bowing to the freaking queen as usual
by chennai predator on Dec 09, 2008 03:29 AM  | Hide replies

England team must be feeling like they are some heads of state. This is just overboard, our players never get this type of treatment when they go abroad. This is the problem when our currency is worth goddamnnn nothing...nil.. and you have to save a lifetime to take one trip abroad. And for everything that steps out of that freaking goddammmn plane...we give it a NSG type security because the guys think London is freaking another planet and kevin petersen is its king. dammitttt.

Is it necessary to deploy 5000 policeman and 300 commandos for a cricket match, instead of deploying them elsewhere. what a waste of resources!

fill the stands with security guards also.. no more security problem then..
why is this damn cricket match so important..
if something like a match needs so much security and resources.. it is not worth having it at all..
half the security goes for netas n half for this nonsense...
that is why the terrorists managed to enter so easily ..
