Rediff is taking readers for a ride
by Vijay on Apr 16, 2008 02:21 PM

On one hand rediff claims they are ignoring IPL yet they've kept a link in their sports column that carries all the shite about that league.

Secondly knowing the cricketing structure well in TN I can tell the TNCA can market the tickets at Chepauk as it had loads of member associations and corporates to market between 5000 to 22000 tickets.

I openly request all cricket fans to ignore this league. TN cricket has long been run by rich busineesman and they make fools out of paying public by populating the stands more than capacity cheating and skinning the money out of common public. So after witnessing all these nonsense I've made it a point never to visit a cricket match.

Now another failed business called N Srinivan heads the proceedings - naturally he knows sod all about cricket.

An open request: Fans please ignore IPL and dont bother watching them even on Television. Satellite TV provides Football, tennis, Basketball to an entertainment stuff like WWE to entertain yourself with.. Dont bother turning to the stadiums.

Let all these rich idiots go bankrupt. There are billion ways to entertain ourselves than acknowledging this crap fest.

Greedy ShahRukh
by Akbar on Apr 16, 2008 12:20 PM  | Hide replies

Offlate any news in Cricket is just about who made how much money. People are losing interest in the game as neither the players nor the cricket boards in raising the standards of the game. I doubt even if one match these days is played in true spirit. Since mammoth money is involved in cricket its no more a game, its just business now... It feels so disgusting that all the players across the world are more inclined to play in IPL and ready to sacrifice their international career. And this is because the greedy bastds of BCCI came up with an idea which can mint money and cricketers can without any doubt in mind preempt themselves from International cricket. So, is this called doing good to cricket? Or atleast is this doing any good to young cricketers in India... since they will be playing T20 cricket all the time. So is T20 cricket at all? So, people please for heaven's sake stay away from IPL

If you call Soccer as an option, It is 100 times worse polluted game then this one :)

Well, IPL and ICL seems not having a long future...as will lose the charm of having real international combats :)

BCCI stunt
by Akbar on Apr 16, 2008 12:13 PM  | Hide replies

IPL seems to be doing nothing for Indian cricket except for minting money for BCCI. This finally looks like a stunt that movie stars do by playing cricket to aid Tsunami victims. Shahrukh is already affected and I pray to God that BCCI should lose money badly with IPL and they will never come up with such stupid ideas to make public look like fools and mint money. All the existing international cricket players are minting money and young cricketers are in no way helped by this stunt, while IPL's mission was dig out young Indian Cricketing talents. BCCI - bunch of jokers and losers.

Greed is the hallmark of all Indian politicians, actors and celebrities
by kalyanaraman s. on Apr 16, 2008 11:05 AM

i hope SRK (whom i like as a talented actor) is not serious when he states that he wants tax exemption !! whatever for ? so that he can earn more money and break-even quickly ? looks like a booty being shared amongst all the cultured goondas (cricketers, franchise owners and BCCI).

look at the ticket prices of Chennai Superkings and you will whinge - 5000/match and 30000/7 matches. given that that money could help fund the education of a large number of under-privileged, it is only the stupid and supre-rich-cum-arrogant who will spend that money ! and where does it go ? to the coffers of a co., (India cements) that has been a failure in its core business area, cement manufacturing !

IPL is a bubble (like any quick-earning scheme) and one does not know when it will burst !

Though i personally don't like the Guy's Acting Either ; You can't blame him for Trying to be a Good businessman .

Its a New Fad and It will take some Time for IPL to grow . I'm totally behind it .. All Other countries have their own sporting leagues and Stuff like NBA (basketball) and NFL (american Football) etc . Why cant we have our own Cricket League ??

Dear Parth...

Well, ICL was a real crap stuff...Not sure where did you find enetrtainment in this? :)

See IPL with non biased mind and then give a feedback.

If you call Watching Inzaman, Andrew Hall, Chris Harris and all other oldies playing ONLY for money...or bunch of new indian kids playing without any gaols...and what is the result of this performance compared to international strandrads...!!!

100% well said. It was low key bt had all the big thrills. I hope ICL continues its success. BCCI had no right to ban ICL, but unfortunately for BCCI, people seem to have banned IPL.

What is the use to see???
by nirish raja on Apr 16, 2008 08:55 AM

Dear all,

Really I don't know that what is the use to see these kind of matches. It shows that BCCI wants more money. If they really want to improve the cricket, they should have slected only indian players to make them to play international cricket. Mr. SRK will have to think about this. As a big gentlemen, he can sponser the hockey as he acted in films.

He says he never asked his fans to go and see his movies. What was he doing with Deepika Padukone during India Australia match. It was a publicity stunt only.He needed all the publicity at that time as his movie was pitted against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariyan.

How could SRK be such a terrible Businessman ? And, why on Earth should such entertainment be Tax Free. Is it some National Honour being showcased. Dear SRK, you want to throw in entertainment to make money, and you do not want to part anything to the State?
Your earlier Biz dream of making thousands of Ladies Public Toilets would make more sense than flogging old horses with new ones that too not from India alone. What a National shame ? And Tax Free for such shame?
