Out of my curiosity and interest in cricket and statistics, i was wondering how much time would it take for the Wall (Mr. 10,000 Dravid, RD) to make a triple century in a test match. Here are some interesting projections :
Avg. Strike rate of RD in Tests = 42.01 Projected time for 300 for RD = 714 balls = 119 overs of only Dravid batting Considering RD comes on early in the innings and rotates strikes evenly,it would take a single indian innings to complete atleast 2* 119 = 238 overs. Now, with an avg of 85 overs bowled/day, it means an indian innings with a Dravid 300 will take precisely 2.8 days, that means if india bats first, the first innings of the match will complete at the end of the 3rd day !
Another projection,
Avg. time indian bowlers take to bowl out a side in an innings in tests = 1.8 days
Taking the probability of the above two cases, the chances of india winning a test match with dravid scoring a 300 = 0.01 %
Also considering the current form of RD, it may take him way longer to score 300 and the chances for india winning that test drops way further down.

Good to see such a greate mathematics. But, nobody can expect 300s from Rahul. He is defined as a wall and he is doing justice for that.

this is nonsence. He came close to scoring 300 in rawalpindi in 2004, he scored 270. he did it before closing of 2nd day.

Someone who thinks he is a genius, but is nothing but something that he thinks is something but is nothing.
I think selectors are in their powers to make sehwag the captain even if he is not the vice captain. I think Management committee should take decision now instead of waiting till tommorrow. Dhoni is not test material.
SEHWAG JAFFER DRAVID LAKSHMAN GANGULY KAIF DHONI IRFAN KUMBLE HARBHAJAN SRISHANTH In case Kumble is not fit take piyush and sehwag should lead the team

I am not too sure about kaif, we should play yuvraj instead. he is good in subcontinent conditions.

sreeshant has to go back to the cricket academy and fine tune his bowling length.it is better to have r.p.singh instead.indian fast bowlers are used only to take off the shine of the ball in the indian pitches and it is better to have ganguly bowling those overs and go with another spinner..our strength is spin and we must adopt that

By the same logic I suppose Sehwag should play for another 85 tests irrespective? Sachin scored centuries in Australia, have you forgotten that?

:-) But not Sachin? Hmmmmmmm..... Serious misgivings and psychological problems .... Get out of the screwed mentality... sooner the better..

Hai stop this arguements. Have a practical look at the problem. Sachin is a good batsman in both version of the game. But considering his age, he should better retire from limited over games so that he can concentrate more on tests and continue to play for a longer period. Sachin is a gem too precious to lose.

ye saab bhudde player hai Bahut paisa banaya. there cricketing life is over now they are only making money
To make Football more popular in India, Football should be more GOAL oriented Game. It Dear Friends,
I would like to see Indian Football in world scenerio. For this I suggest the following:
should be compensary for all teams to post 3 Defenders in Penalty area except Goal Keeper and only 3 forwards should be allowed in the Penalty area. Also, no long passes outside the Halfway mark to be allowed. Let us enjoy Goals and the match. Let the match produces GOOOOOAL
We did the same mistkae by playing with "fit" but not "match fit" pacers in the first test. We are doing the same in second test.
If Kumble and Ishant are not fit, keep Piyush and Irfan ready to take up the job. You can not expect a player to be ready overnight to be "match fit" if does not pass fitness test a day before.
IT IS SHEAR REDICULE WAY OF RUNNING AND SELECTING PEOPLE IN INDIAN CRICKET. TRAINER/PHYSIO TOLD TENDULKAR TO TAKE REST. sACHIN RIDICULED THEM AND RESULT IS THERE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE.
That's the difference of being consistently best and "BEST IN PATCHES". and of course between "australia in last decade" and "India in the coming decade".
