RE:CHASING OVER 300 THAT TOO WHEN SACHIN OUT
by Aravamudhan R on Sep 30, 2007 12:45 PM
My dera friend,

please know that in a match against srilanka, we successfully chased a target over 300 that too when sachin was out cheaply (in single figures) Dhoni scores a brilliant 183 and eclipsed the record for the maximum runs scored by a wicket keepr batsman breaking adam gilchrist's record. Please dont make nonsense comments. Try and accept the fact that at some point of time we will be without the famed trio. Dhoni is a sensible captain and will be better with time. Dont be cynical

Dhoni seems to be a good captain but this batting is not the same
by S Hegde on Sep 30, 2007 10:59 AM  | Hide replies

as it used to be. Through out England series and T20, he was not connecting the ball well.
Also, he has been little as captain as well. We will see his true captaincy in next 2 series.

Finally someone says it....yes it is true..
the guy can't bat even if his life depended on it...all the people are so mesmorised by his captaincy that they simply overlook the facts....also so what if tendulkar has got the highest no. of ducks ( courtesy :Times of India)
the guy has made more runs than any one...

wat facts r u talking abt
he has the best avg in ODIs for india.
he has the highest score while chasing
he has the highest score for a wicketkeeper
he has a decent test avg.
he has won india more matches than even ppl like dravid in ODIs.
so brush up your facts before using such remarks.

lets accept it. he's done a good job in T20, and he's a decent bloke. but getting facts and comparing him to dravid is a bit premature. he's hardly captained a few matches to get those stats.
he's got one big score, and everyone goes gaga over it. he's suffered in form the last year or so. but he does ok, he's got a great temperament. lets hope for the best and stop making silly comparisons.

"There is a very fine margin between foolishness and bravado."....... and if u can't c that fine line....... JUST SHUT UP AND SIT QUITELY IN THE CORNER. yes gilchrist was ready..... but the outfield was soggy..... there could hav been any injury or anything else..... outfield would hav got slowed.... ball would hav 2 b changed regularly........ which by the new laws........ can't happen before 34-35 ovrs....... so both teams would hav got fucked.......

good decision by the captain. in the settings would have been difficult to get the score by d/l rules. d/l in this case would have immensely favoured australians- imagine getting 22 overs docked and reducing the total only by 100 odd runs. it was stacked against india. while we have won 20/20, this would have been a different ball game all together- with slow outfield etc. at the end is better to abandon a match then lose it. so well said- fine line between foolishness and bravado.

Father of stupid!!

You should know basics of Cricket!

It is not CAPTAINS who "DECIDE" whether to play or not! It is the "UMPIRES"!! In the process, they do consult captains! Gilly was obviously keen as they had 307 on board, Sachin was out and with wet conditions even 165 in 20 overs was too tough! Also they wanted to take a revange of 20-20 SF defeat!

When MS Dhoni was consulted he said "NO" for obvious reasons! If you had seen the ground and the water it had, it was obvious that it was impossible to play!

Dont be a STUPID STUPID STUPID fan!

Dear Friends, there is nothing wrong in Dhoni denying to play as given the conditions reaching the target of 165 in 20 overs could have been difficult. Also, Ganguly was unfit and India were one batsman short than the usual 7 batsmen theory. It is not cowardness... AUS were willing to play because they knew they had a very good chance of winning due to the wet and damp condition of the pitch. DHONI WAS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT..
(If he had the same T20 team, he could have gone for it.. however, with old war horses in the army, it was not at all advisable.. )

Luck only come for one or two matches, soon we seen he will be on earth. He is not good batsman, he is not captain either. So don't worry soon be will get result.
