Dhoni made the right decision . Several times we loose matches due to rain and if now rain is benefiting us we must grab it. Even aussies will not play if India get to chase 130 in 20 overs . So it was a practicaly right decision

NO POWAR
by bhupindersingh bindra on Sep 30, 2007 03:53 PM

BBC writes "Rain saved India",which is true, looking at the condition at B'luru, with the white ball seaming.

Every thing was going right for Dhoni till bulky Powar arrived to bowl,it just changed the whole scenereo.

It will be a surprise if Powar plays next One-dayers.

Surprising to see so many full-toss balls bowled by Indian bowlers towards the end of the innings,Prasad ?

Drop Tendulkar/Dravid and Ganguly
by Shailendra Kumar on Sep 30, 2007 03:38 PM  | Hide replies

Well... We have two senior team members in Tendulkar and Ganguly who know the art of survuival. They make money from advertisements and matches doesnt give them much intrest. All they need to do is appear in the final 11 and thats it... rest advertisements will take care of everything.
thats the reason... they can play and score only when it is actually NOT needed to stay in the final 11.
It will be great if anyone can tell me one match when Tendulkar one the match for us. He only plays for himself.
Now... he will score 50/60 in the next match so that he can stay for next 2 matches, India wins or loses doesnt matter.

So... young people do not get any chance.

We shall see...

They are good for nothing...
Lets build the team from the scratch. Yong players are really good... make them play.

people like you forget that india was one man(sachin) team for more than 10 years. in that period more than 80% of india's win were scripted by him.
people like you also forget that after his heroics against warne and company he suffered a severe back problem and was advised by doc to restrict his strokeplay.
people like you also tend to ignore that for most of his past 5-6 yrs big performances, others didn't even reached 40 run mark.
it's not his fault.
he always gives his 100% for country.
so, just SHUT YOUR crap

Even now he is the Best barsman we have(infact in the world too) We must respect our heroes.
If we ant to win his series,he has to fire.Else we lose 6-0.This is not T2.Its 50-50...It needs skill too..not just bang-bang..

Arrey BKb, simply one reason why you should play. Great players on their best day score 100 and mostly score 50s. Sachin on his worst day can score a 100. Thats difference between Sachin and other greats. Thy name of legendary -Sachin Tendulkar.

I hope people like u should be transported to Pakistan and then make india play against pakistan. And then I will ask u sachin's worth...

By Scoring 50/60 in 3 matches, u dont reach 15000 runs.
Also A foolish will play yusuf pathan/Sehwag instead of Sachin....
Come on, grow up respect him for what he has done and what is doing to our cricket...
Only Recently he won Man of the series in Ireland ( in series against South Africa), in england also.
His performance is next to none. Infact he is the best batsman for last 5 months

RAIN SAVES AUSTRALIA
by damodaran mohan on Sep 30, 2007 02:25 PM  | Hide replies

it is a pity that few Pvt channels and ex- cricketers were criticizing Dhoni and suggesting that the game should have been played as the fielding side was prepared to risk injury and play. They forget that Australia could pile up 307 runs in dry and fast outfield conditions. But could India have managed even a four in those wet & soggy outfield conditions while T20 type of run rates were required ? Perhaps only Yuvis sixes were the answers in those conditions ! So, under the circumstances Dhoni was right. Actually such decisions are in the realm of the umpires and I wish senior umpire like Stev Bucknor had handled the situation better. As regards sachin and saurav I still maintain BCCI should keep them out and not make a mess of the Indian one day side. At best Dravid can be tried to get some middle order strength. Ideally speaking the T20 winning team should have been fielded in toto to maintain the winning momentum of the young side. Sachin and Saurav can play Tests, no problem.

Dear Damodaran,

Well, Dhoni not continuing the game was rigth decision...as you said conditions were different to score those rune.

About the three biggies, It is noting to get personal but all depends on Individual performance, if they not really not performa consistenyly you will see him out soon... :)

Well, We do not want to start with bangladesh type new team which would survive to sruggle to stay there for 50 overs....So stay cool...and keep enjoying cricket

Cheers,

u r near perfect ..... i agree with u,where players in 30's coudnt field upto the mark but u cant totaly change the team overnight where its a really different ball game some sort of experience allways needed to stay for 50 overs .....so its not a bad idea to continue with those big guns for some days but u have to use this time to train a new players which is important for the future .....

ask other batsman to score as tendulkar scores. He is the batsman ricky ponting looks upto even today. young cricketers watch tendulkars batting clips around the world to learn tips.We indians couldnt prduce tendulkar type of batsman in 20 years. He is once in century.

Agree with the Dhoni part of not wanting to bat as the outfield was wet.....but 2 of the big 3 if not all 3 should always play one day and test....our team would not last 50 overs without these 3 big players.....maybe we can experiment playing a few one dayers and tests without without these 3 so tat ppl like u can be made to shut up...
We would have a problem batting for 50 overs...and TESTS....i guess our both innings would not last for more thn 1.5 days against quality attack like Aussie...
these 3 need to groom youngters and india must take advantage of them as long as they perform....

I first of all congratulate Dhoni on his first ODI Captaincy but at the same time it was unfortunate that, the game washed away. However, I have to tell this jelous fellow Tendulkar, who is a so called great batsman comes in front of Australian bowlers an irresponsible fellow gets himself out in the first over and goes. He thinks that, he has done his job and there is no one who is going to ask him for this. Such fellows should go home and watch the match from home on the TV instead of unnecessarily taking part in such an important event. An experienced person when he comes to bat with a huge score to be covered, does not play with responsibility and goes out within minutes of play starts is just cannot be digested by any good Indian. More over, another responsible person well experienced does not show up when there is need and the news comes that, he has a hamstring. Oh my goodness I dont know when these fellows will retire and we will have a peaceful time and win the matches with our youngsters waiting to play good matches.
WISH INDIA WIN ALL THE MATCHES TO COME

It is unfair comment on Tendulkar. What about a drop by Dhoni and a missing stumping chance? Rain saved india and Dhoni. Lets see some more matches and the truth will be obvious whether performance or luck worked for Dhoni. J ANAND

People like u who write whatever they feel like without any basic cricketing knowledge put all of us Indians to shame. Do u realise that people from all over the world can read this online & they will know what a bunch of jokers we have here. Being a cricketer myself, one can understand that what happened to sachin & tendulkar is normal. Saying that they did it on purpose makes U sound like a fool & does not affect a player or his reputation. Hope u get the message at least now.

It would be interesting to see how the 3 famous batting seniors will perform. If they don't perform well enough and then if they are still selected for the Pakistan tour, then we will all know the real reason for their selection.
