Cash raining on Cricket players
by Shridhar Iyer on Sep 26, 2007 01:51 PM

We have the habit of dancing too much and also dumping them too deep when they lose matches.

I feel all these freebies in terms of crores of rupees, are unnecessary. It might go in to their head, which could affect their performances in the future. I think congrats them for the job well done, and pay them decently.

Now all Ad agencies will go to them and shower them with ad contracts, which will further improve their purses, which will inturn swell their heads. Too much of anything is poisonous.

With best wishes,
Srinivasan.

Every govt. is giving cash rewards, but make a note gujarat govt. will never give reward to pathan brothers, by this u can believe muslims r treated badly by gujarat govt.

Wake up INDIA ..pathan is man of the match in FINAL.

It is completely wrong for state govermnents to reward players of their own state. If they want they should reward purely on merits irrespective of whichever team a player belongs to.

To encourage good players like Pathan, like what other state governments did. But Modi is hesitating only because he's a muslim.

Agarkar, you have done marvelous job by not playing in pre-semi, semi & final. If you would have played on that game, we ourselves don%u2019t what could be the result. Thank you for your cooperation. As a Mumbai player, you can get chances upto your age 70. But please don%u2019t forget not to participate in any match.

Ridiculous
by bharat on Sep 26, 2007 10:21 AM

it ridiculous to see state governments rewarding only players from their own states. This is the Indian national team. They have gone there are represented India. If the state governments want to reward, they should reward based on merit, regardless of which state the player belongs to. For example, there is no reason to reward Agarkar with 10 lakhs simply because he was a part of the winning 15.

FOOL this is T20 where u have 2 play the ball like a blind hit it anywhere when it comes 2 50 overs this same team will struggle 2 bat agnst the Aussi.
NOTE:Agarkar holds the record for fastest 50 wickets in cricket and has made 50 in just 23 balls it is only that he dose'nt get much time on to the crease.
