Just a game
by Prasad S on Sep 25, 2007 12:35 PM  | Hide replies

This is just a game.
Why don't people take it in a sportive manner?
Winning or losing the match is not a shame, but how you behave after the event matters a lot.
Lets try to be brothers & save the world.
-Prasad

Well said Prasad, people should try and realise, its not the end of the world for Pakista, infact this series shows that cricket is in safe hands, for both, India as well as Pakistan. Lets cherish the moment and hope that there will be far more better wins ahead, for both the teams. Once again, thanks to both the teams for giving us such a wonderful match, that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Chakde India!!!

Hey Malik,
It was a great final and Pakistan did well. Even they played well but after all a winner has to be there. India and Pakistan were able to show doors to those so called champions of the game. Isn't it great enough? After all it is game sharmosar to woh ho rahein hain jo Semi final tak bhi nahin jaa payein.
Cheers!!

Disgusting comments from a sportsman
by ByTheWay on Sep 25, 2007 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

I wonder whether what the hell Shoaib Malik was trying to prove when he 'addressed' Muslims all over the world ? How can he relate Muslims all over the world with his team ? Either we can just let it pass under the concession that he is an illiterate fellow not knowing what to say. Or else the cricket's body should take him to clarify what he was trying to say. It will be good if PCB can intervene and play it part in its own capacity. By making this statement was he also trying to say that he doesnt care for Pakistani Hindus? What about the hindu player Dinesh Kaneria who is their trump card in test cricket. Malik's comment is an insult to Kaneria. I hope he realizes his mistake and take back the statement.

You are right buddy. Imagine in a sport like Football which is played by many islamic countries would the victorious captain say that his/her team was supported by all the muslims and other muslim teams were note. This whole business of getting poor Allah into everything is disgusting.

Yes it was the wrong statement. Muslim as a religion is too big than the cricket game. I think he has offended muslims more than offending the game with the stupid linking of the great religion with the game. He should take the statement back.

Totally agree with ur views. If that fool had said "Pakistan supporters" all over the world. It was not as if all muslims in the world were supporting those pieces of shee(i)t. Irfan and Yunus Pathan were playing their heart out for India.

these bustards will always remain the same, bringing religion and communalism into everything... Pakistani bhadwaas.....

Imagine M.S. Dhoni making such a statement by addressing ONLY Hindus all over the world! Our secular bogus media would have created a mayhem.. These insensible Pakistani illiterates manifest their religious dogma even on cricket field. Who says cricket is not infected by religion, eih?

Stop Using God's name for every thing ?
by Shivarama Krishna on Sep 25, 2007 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

Pakistan Players should stop using God's name for every thing, i think it's nothing but showoff that they are very religious ans great followers, for every good performance they use god's name, everybody belives in God.

If it is so then how many times Australia players should take God's name, be'cos they hardly losse, yesterday statement by Shoiab Malik reveals every thing.

Dhoni as the next INDIAN captian
by shantanu barman on Sep 25, 2007 12:34 PM

first of all congratulation to the indian team for winning the 1st T20 world cup. This young daring indian side really played like a team, with high team spirit producing all round preformance(batting, fielding and bowling).
we found a much better leader for the INDIAN team as Dhoni showed confidence in his young team members. his young batsman showed "no fear" attitude even with the toughest team, he used his bowler intelligently who were not on par with the pakistani bowlers. he would run down the pitch to the bowler to have a word when the bowler was hit for a six. what was impressive about him during the press conference was how he thanked the team's trainers robin singh and venkatesh prasad for this victory. usually many forgets or does'nt even mentions about them when the team wins. this shows how good dhoni as a leader is. he deserves to be the next indian captain with the kind of attitude he has as a cricketer, a strong presence in the team, as well as a good communicator. when asked about the win of '83 world cup and this win, he said he does'nt believe in comparison, and both are special in its own way.
To me it appears as history repeats itself considering that both the teams were not favorites to even reach the semi-finals. India truely deserved this T20 world cup after beating australia, south africa, england and twice the pakistani team. CHAKDE INDIA

Great Indian team spirit, as Ganguly hails Dhoni & Team for T -20 world cup victory
by S Narain on Sep 25, 2007 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

Great gesture by Ganguly to acknowledge MSD & Indian teams tremendous victory by Sourav!!!!!!!
Ganuly is true fighter . Likwise , Dhoni & boys are also true fighter.Under Ganguly, India reached 5-6 important final including world cup2003,but could win only Netwest final mainly due to Yvui & Kaif when first 5-6 wicket cheaply ,still they could score 300 odd runs.
Ganguly has built the core team with youngsters ( at that time) like Yuvi, Pathan, Bhajji,Sehwag, Ghambir, Zahir,Balaji who played their heart out for India.
The many of the same players Yuvi, Pathan ,Gambhir have contributed heavily for 20-20 World cup victory.
Hence a great and large hearted Captain like Ganguly can only priase ,abudding captain Dhoni ,as we can see Ganguly's Image in Dhonis style. Ganguly took over Indian
Captaincy at the time when there was shadow of match fixing and senior star players were refusing to take up the difficult job of Indian Captaincy. His countribution to bring fighting spirit would continue inspite of filthy politics of BCCI lobby.

It likes praising DADA so much !!!!. The T20 events proved one point, we can play without old war horses. Its high time for the board to follow what Aussies do, improve bench strength by chopping old ones.

Great India, keep doing.....

It was absolutely disheartening too see such a comment from Shoaib Malik during the presentation ceremony. Sports know no language, relegion or caste... All it knows is unflinching commitment.... We all loved an IND-PAK final and the best team won in the humdinger thatz all... Let us not bring in relegion any more into Cricket... We luv all be it Muslim or Christian or Hindu

Rightly said.
Common Muslims are forced to bow their head because of the fundamentalist like him. Millions of Indian Muslims must have been overjoyed by the victory of our country. Man of the match of yesterday%u2019s match was also a Muslim and a true Indian. Pakistan or Pakistan cricket team is not the representative of world Muslim. Shame Shuhaib and shame Pakistan to make such a nasty comment on a glorious event like this.

when Misbah scooped that ball I thought the ball had gone for a six or atlast a boundary. I think it was a miracle to have Sreesanth to be there in that position right behind the wicket keeper to take that catch. Luck was with us and God was with the Indian team.
