dravid most succesful odi captain and his perfromance as captain recognised by icc won the cap for icc test captain team and nominted by icc test captain award. Icc nomination done by int%u2019l cricketers not by ind players media managers or dirty ind politicians.dravid had most % odi winning average and most successful odi captain. Team won 18 odi matches by chasing and under dravid team did not loose any odi series. Also historic test win in SA, series win against WI after 32 yrs that too with out ganguly and tendulakr and nowseries win in England. Dravid managed team without coach and some senior players and chief selector never supported or respected his captaincy. Media always biased to dravid captain and batsman. Dravid not only best batsman but better captain and left captaincy with winning note holding his head high. He was not cowrd or spineless as some ex crickets projected. He ws forced to resign and victim of dressing room politics.
dravid played under azar, sachin, gnaguly and gave 100% for team cause performed under pressure against strong bowling attack on foreing ptiches many times. But did not get the support of his teammates statistics proved dravid did good job as captain but ditched by some of his teammates
Why bcci did not appoint a coach after chappell resignation ?Why bcci changed so many vice captains in last 2 yrs?/and why chief selector always gave some crap statement in meida against dravid? Why bcci sent team without coach for such long tour? Also

POLITICIANS RULE BY DIVIDING PEOPLE; and you are the victim. Its a shame that Britishers divided the country and sprung the division of hindu and muslim; and here we are, people are still divided after 60 years!! If an uneducated illiterate is Radical in his thinking, he can be discounted for his ignorance but what to tell people who are educated enough.

Elsewhere in world, people are uniting themselves, years back East Germany and West Germany got united; North korea and South korea may unite in recent future; whole of europe is planning for combined constitution and that time, people of my great country still fight amongst themselves at the cost of growth of country.
By the way, I am not Muslim; but am able to give you some words of wisdom out of travel to three continents!
It is not Muslim Religion's problem that Azhar followed Muslim Religion; it is corrupt indian system's fault that people like azhar managed to pursue things like match fixing.

well said Mr Kataria. I think its time for us to unite instead of spreading hatred and afterall I dont understand what he means by the Hindu Team and Patriot Hindu.. India as per our consititution never gave space for a hindu team nor a patriot hindu. I think rediff should take a firm stand on these issues and try to ban all of them who try to cultivate hatred in the forums.

Inappropriate Head Line
by Nilesh Mange on Sep 18, 2007 07:30 PM  | Hide replies

Today's media is behind sensationalising everything. The headline that rediff chose for this article was out of place and inapt. I read this interview out of curosity just because of this stupid headline. I could have been "Dravid, thinking Captain" or anything that is aptly suiting this article.
Our media needs to grow up and actually publish and highlight things where it is needed.
Shame on rediff.com

Dravid has been unnecessarily pilloried by the media for that- Media also refer sites viz., Rediff, Timesnow and NDTV. These media really don't have anything worth to salt and they do everything to create bad name. Since content is the key they're bullying people by putting breaking news and making idiotic viewers(includes you and me) to watch their channels. Viewers comments (either positive or negative) itself is the victory for their filthy stories which most of times doesn't have truth in it nor related to context.

Sensationalism - Saddistic Pleasure
by srividya k on Sep 18, 2007 03:25 PM  | Hide replies

If one reads this interview, it is clearly understood that Chandu Borde doesnt have any qualms or complaints about Dravid. But the very headline of this interview mis leads every reader. Rediff is a very well known and popular website and there are lot of people who follow cricket and other news through rediff. Why do you folks want to have cheap headlines and catch the eye of the reader. You could have easily had the title as "Dravid: Good and Thinking Captain" The reason you didnt have is because there is nothing exciting about this. But in the process of providing excitment, you tend to mislead and mis-report facts. Well rediff is not the only culprit; All different media like print, tv, etc.. Today's newspapers carry all but news. All news channels ONLY sensitise issues and look for instant publicity. But all these MEDIA JOURNALISTS fail to understand the they dont do want they are supposed to do. I wish they learn from their mistakes and correct them

Thanks,
Ram

Something needs to be done to these just graduate pass out journalist who merely sit on the desk and distort the content with the approval of the editor and post a senational headline just to have more page hits and in turn revenues for rediff.

Srividya you are so right, in fact i re-read the storie as to find where the headline came from. Media can make or destroy people and they are paid for that depends which side the money is more or else why should they write this about Dravid

Hallo Giri!
I think you are astonished by seeing that the concerned journalist is neither Roy, nor Mukherjee nor Banerjee. I feel you are dis-heartened as you are not finding to comment against the Bengalee led journalism world (termed by you).

My intention is not to heart you - my intention is only to inform you that real Journalists are not from any region and the journalist who have regional feelings are very very few and negligible - don't consider those - try to be national and truly Indian.
Best regards.

TENDULKAR CAPTAINCY-TEAM'S RELUCTANCE AS
by SURYAPRAKASH TATA on Sep 18, 2007 11:32 AM  | Hide replies

TENDULKAR AS A CAPTAIN GOOD FOR THE TEAM AS IF INDIA LOSES THE ENTIRE RESPONSIBILITY WAS SHOULDERED BY HIM BY WHICH ALL THE TEAM IS SAFE. IF INDIA WINS UNDER HIM MEDIA SAYS IT IS TEAM WORK. EVEN IN WORLD CUP AND CHAPPEL ISSUE SACHIN NEITHER A CAPTAIN NOR SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSS, BUT BOARD AND MEDIA MADE HIM SCAPE GOAT BY DIVERTING ANGER OF PEOPLE ON HIM ALONE. IS IT FAIR TO US TO DISHONOUR A GREAT PLAYER LIKE HIM. DRAVID IS PLAYING HIS OWN TACTICS AS HE KNOW TWO TOURS AHEAD WERE VERY TOUCH ONES AGAINST PAKISTAN AND AUSTRALIA AND WINNING CHANCES WERE 50-50 ONLY. SO HE WANT THE ENTIRE BLAME TO GO ONTO SACHIN AGAIN AS HE IS THE READY CHOICE FOR SELECTORS TO BECOME A CAPTAIN OR EVEN DHONI WHO IS GAINING FAME AND NAME.

COME ON SACHIN AND DHONI THE ONLY MATCH WINNERS IN INDIA LEAD THE TEAMS FROM FRONT AND TEACH A LESSON TO ALL.

ALL THE BEST SACHIN AND DHONI.

WE WERE WITH YOU.

Yes absolutely right. When we lose as a team we blame tendulakar and when we win we praise whole team. This is a media doublestandard against Tendulkar. They are continously talking against Tendulkar so that other useless players can be saved from public anger. Find out Saurav's and Dravids figures under Sachin's captaincy. They were never team mens.

What is left with Sachin's career?
He is in a position to play a FATKA now - nothing to loose....
In this situation, Sachin has no alternative rather than to please Sharad Pawar. He knows his retirement need is knocking at the door - now retiring as captain of Team India is an ornamental thing for him.
These cricket players don't have any devotion for country - moneymaker - wealth amasser - no feelings to help any underpriviledged.
I am commenting these by giving example of one Steve Waugh who comes atleast once a year to India (Barackpore, WB & other places) - and our players! Ha!
Hence, Sachin becomes captain or Rahul completes shelf life of captaincy - nothing helps Indian cricket.
In between Greg Chappel like person will come and loot some money and go....
