when sachin was given cap two times before he had not had power choose his own team as it is today. Then there had been lot of traitors in the team, involved in the betting and made Sachin unsuccessful captain. Even Ganguly betrated him before taking cap from Sachin.
During his tennure as cap his run average did not come down much (within and less than 2) which is significant.
So Sachin is suitable for cap any time. only he needs to get rid of traitors.

Everybody know, donot you ? Anyway the were Azhar, Nayan Mongia, Ajay Jadeja and some times Ganguly (threw wickets as if he was travelling in a gurden) too. I have seen all match by sourav since I like his off-drives very much. just after century how Ganguly just careless threw the wicket in the non-stricking end. India lost that match under sachin.

Sachin, come on. Take this chance of Captaincy. In your last two terms there had been lot of traitors (with betting) in the team and made you as unsuccessful captain in record. Now take the young team and drive in your own way and we Indian eagerly waiting to see WC 2011 in your hand. We donot have any doubt in your dedication to the game and nation. We respect you and you are the ICON, only invitee from Asia by DON Bradman.

A bad workman quarrels with his tool, and a copycat blind supporters uphold a misfit for the most challenging job. Hah!!
Dravid instigated a coup when he took over captaincy from Sourav taking advantage of the latters difficult time with the bat with gleeful support from Chappal. Dravid also left the ship now in the middle of the sea by deserting the team without nurturing a regular vice captain (which Sourav did in Dravid and which saved the team from disaster when he was exposed to disaster). Dravid had the successes as captain but his leadership decisions were mostly defensive and poor. I rate Dravid as a great batsman but a poor leader.
The way Dravid has relinquished his captaincy is a little hasty and is probably influenced by his urge to keep himself away from the dirtiness & the constant politics that has been a part & parcel of Indian cricket for as long as one can remember. But once one has taken over as the captain of a ship he can not desert it midway. Even those of us who are in some form of service or other know that in order to resign from an organization one needs to give a certain amount of time as a notice period so that during that time somebody else can take over.
So even if he had resignation in mind what he should have done is to give at least 3 to 4 months time to his successor who can then be groomed during this time and be mentally ready to take over when the time comes.
I personally feel that he should have announced his resignation now but would say that he would continue till the end of India's tour of Australia & let BCCI work out how his successor can be put in place in the meantime.

That would have been ideal, Kprabal. But then he would have been accused of presuming that he is captain as well as selected in the team, before being selected. The selectors, media, and the "fans" (especially) would have roasted him even that way. How can he think that he is permanent or captain, and all that stuff???
Besides, there would be the question of dressing room discipline, with wanna be captains playing their own politics, and trying to assume control before their time. Some senior members may as well side with them depending on how they read the situation, hoping for stretching their career by a couple of years. All said and done, especially with the fickle nature of our fans and media, and the utter incompetence of the BCCI, I think dravid announcing a post-dated resignation (after Australia tour) isn't as simple as it seems on the face of it.

Mr Sarath Chandra, think of it as an organization. A Narayana Murti in Infosyss does not step down overnight but a put a scuccession plan in place which is transparent and is made known to everybody.
Dravid should have had a quiet word with BCCI and then BCCI should have made a succession plan dicide then only whom they want to be captain after Dravid. Then they should have come out in public saying that Mr Rahul Dravid is stepping down after a particular series and he would be succededed by Mr so and so who will work as vice captain in the mean time.
That will put to rest any kind of lobbying or politics as everybody would know who the next captain would be. The transition also would be smoooth. The players will also get some time to adjust to the new captain's way of thinking.
It is true that Dravid was made captain till the England tour. But it was a foregone conlusion that he would be reinstated as captain. And definitely there would have been a dialog between him and the BCCI at that time. And that would have been an ideal time for him to share his thought with the BCCI.
I am amused by the the question "Is BCCI bothered?"..Why this question? Dravid is 34-quite matured and also "commercial".. He must have taken his own time to take and declare the decision..One must reconcile with that...But we like worshiping the people at the helm of affairs.. We can not think about (dream about?)substitutes ...and therefore there is never any succession plan.. ( What we are doing now? Rushing to Tendulkar again who has abandoned the captaincy earlier).. I remember Ratan Tata saying that we Indians worship individuals ...This attitude gives rise to famous (infamous?) slogan "Indira is India" ...Media has better role to play, I reckon.
