Agarkar much better fit bowler
by yogesh Puranik on Nov 13, 2007 05:02 PM

Agarkar much better fit baowler for last 10 years than Zaheer, Pathan, Munaf patel, Nehra who played their short span of career with full of injuries. Now Munaf & nehra are out due to fitness where zaheer & pathan made comeback due to regained form. Agarkar never dropped due to fitness and he had excellent throw -arm and also contributed with bat in the depths .The selection commitee is showing confindence which affects performance. If Vengasakar and Sachin to stay Godfather for Agarkar then why Kambli, Nilesh Kulkarni , Amol Muzumdar did not cemented their place in the team inspite of school friend of Sachin. ? Why Jaffer has to wait till 30 th to enter the test team of Mumbai inspite of being regular opener for Mumbai.

INDIA STILL NEEDS AGARKAR
by NITIN RAJ on Oct 25, 2007 06:01 PM  | Hide replies

COMPARING TO SREESANTH, AGARKAR IS FAR BETTER BOWLER. ATLEAST HE IS NOT GIVING RUNS AT A STRIKE RATE OF 7 TO 8 RUNS PER OVER AS SREESANTH DOES. SREESANTH HAS TO BE DROPPED BECAUSE OF HIS BAD BEHAVIOUR AND PERFORMANCE. BRING BACK AGARKAR.

those who r in a mood to compare...let me tell u that rp singh is much capable when it comes to doing wayward bowling..u can even figure it out from the recently concluded series against aussies....except 20-20 so far he's not done anything remarkable that can depict his bowling ability...sreesanth too inconsistent compared to agarkar..balaji-nehra struggling frm injuries in these early days of their carrier...zaheer still not able to deliever properly..yaar mujhe samajh nahi aata hai kaise log bina stats dekhe comparisons draw kar dete hain...

Agarkar by far better than other indian pacers
by aditi biswas on Oct 24, 2007 06:29 PM  | Hide replies

Well u need to chk ur statistics properly. agarkar is that fastest indian to reach 150, 200, 250 wickets. its just that people only knows and remember him for his first 50 wickets.
for ur inormation the quickets to reach 300 club are
waqar 300 in 186 matches
mcgrath 300 in 200 matches
agarkar 288 in 191 matches.
so agarkar has 9 matches more to take just 12 wickets to become 2nd quickest bowler to take 300.
All these stats shows he is by far better than these new youngsters like RP, Balaji, Nehra, Munaf etc

Dear,

First of all improve your knowledge of cricket. Strike rate is not the 'no of runs conceeded per wicket taken' as you have written. Although, in bowling averages also, Agarkar is our best bowler amongst the bowlers who have taken 200 or more wickets with an average of below 28 runs per wicket whereas Zaheer has an average of more than 28 runs per wicket. Now coming to your point, Strike rate is the rate at which a bowler takes wickets. In other words if Agarkar has a strike rate of 32 then it means that he takes a wicket every 32nd Ball. If Zaheer has a strike rate of 37 then it means that Zaheer is able to take a wicket every 37nd Ball. So when we compare the two, Agarkar is a better bowler.

Hi, Shrinath. Don't u no that 4 a bowler strike rate means number of deliveries bowled/wicket. & it's d economy rate that determines runs conceded/over. May b d eco rate of Waqar & Glen r better than Ajit. But will u pls, understand that Waqar played during 1989-2003 & Glen during 1994-2007. While Ajit started after d Jaysurya-Afridi-Gilchryst-Klusenner revolution.

hey man, leave out the strike rate. just consider 288 wickets. just let me know how many of the bowlers have taken 288 wickets in less number of matches ? u will find very less . So dont argue, just appreciate that Agarkar has done well for India.

Inconsistency

He is the most inconsistent bowler in India. With guys like RP Singh, Pathan in the squad, he can better start coaching some school team.
