Only difference is...
by Raghavendra Udupa on Oct 23, 2007 03:45 PM  | Hide replies

Me and Tendulkar are the same.. only difference is I don't play and he plays.. what a pity to start the sentence like this..

In the next interview Aggarkar will say that its the press who called him a fast bowler.. actually he's just a spinner..

Shit on you Agarkar.. you better come to our league.. even with any practice for about 15 years in leather ball, I think I can hit all around the ground..

Udupa...first learn to hold a bat and bowl...then talk cricket....bcoz suckers like u always get their heads blown off when they come on field......and then when he bowls in ur league u will have a trousers which is wet in front and yellow at the back and stinky....

watching agarkar bowl his overs were really funny. Oppositions used to enjoy his bowling... we can get more runs na... always 10 0 64 0 would be his bowling figures... A philanthropist.

hey guys thats enough on commenting on agarkar yaar. he was a good bowler and can be if he is taken in a right direction. sholud not the bowling coach work on his action. well we have limited resources of fast bolwer who performs well in foreign countries. agarkar is one of them....can anyone recall the 6 wickets he took in adelaide test when india one the first test in australia......c the depth overs that our present bowlesr r bolwing. i still feel he is the best one at the dept. he can bowl inswinging yorkers..i hope pathan, zaher all have forgot that....well everyone has different views..but i stil feel he sholud be taken to australia for test.

yep ganguly is responsible for ajit's inconsistency ... at a point of time when he must hv shown some respect to ajit he favoured the likes of nehra and zaheer ... and then there were many times (like after the west indies tour) when he was dropped after bowling well in a series and no body complained (neither the media nor ajit)....

Very True. Agarkar performed and performs better than VRV, Munaf & Co. Take him to Australia. If the Bowling speed shown in the TV is correct, Agarkar frequently passes 140 Kmh. He may be in need of some pep talk bythe coach.

if the boling speed is the criteria, now santh and rp are also showing the consistent speed of around 140 plus.

what are u saying my friend ? Just because a player performed 10 years back u can keep him in team all time .....then re-call the OLD kapil Dev team who won the 1983 world cup and watch them again and again, I will support them by saying these players are out of form now but in-form in 1983 , just be logical in what u are arguing and dont simply argue for sake.... this is not a President post where somebody with the age of Abdul kalam can continue playing cricket and just say even tendulkar ages 80, show in TV channels , how well he played in 1992.. and be sympathetic at 80 yrs also, keep supporting him.
Understand there is no sympathy for any sport at national level, because u performed yesterday doesnt mean u will be there life-long, this is not a GOvt. job for your infomration

yes. ppl remember his 6 wkts. but also remember his boling in crunch situtions on numerous occasions.
remember 1999 wc in eng, india in good position against sa who were chasing the target. in the last overs, suddenly lance clusener scoring 3 boundaries against agarkar and match taken away from india.
another crunch situation blunders of agarkar. wi in india last odi of the series of 2004 (!!) wi needed 4 runs of the last over, agarkar bowls full toss to Sarwan who hit it for a boundary to win the match and series for wi.

agarkar is an all-(ROUND)er , true , he(s) rated as a ROUND which is nothing other than a ZERO, or is it good enuf to say he makes the fielder run all-a(ROUND) the g(ROUND) when he bowls... In all sense, the title is a good match to him

I do not understand why people are vehemently opposing only Agarkar? There are lots of underperforming cricketers in indian team and for that matter any team.Agarkar has taken wickets and scored runs, may be that he is out of form. sachin, saurav, dravid, dhoni every body were out of form for sometime. That is natural. Do not single out one player and insult. No cricket fan does this type of insults for a player in any other cricket playing nation. Shame on you all.

Ok, Boss, sorry if i insulted anybody. I cracked as a JOKE, not really meant insult ! But this goes to everybody, if a player is Out of form why not the Board give chance to youngsters instead of persisting with him, which in itself is a shameful act, as they represent a COUNTRY and not a COUNTY, the 1st shame is on the BOARD who dis-honour the national flag by putting the country down by letting the Out-of-form players play an umpteen number of times....ie the case with Agarkar, he was pathetic in Australian tour, scoring most number of Ducks and being tamely hit by Aussie batsmen and now my friend tell me, didnt he dis-honour the national flag ? if his conscious knows he cant perform, why the heck did he continue ,, people should be selfless while representing country owise GET sledged in the field from AUSSIE greats !

ha ha ha,
who this fellow porbably he has not seen his game since last 8 years :)
Boss, don't compare this Bombay duck with any of our Senior players.
if someone try to track , how many times he kicked out of the team then it would be a world record for him. You can say that he makes record in making comeback.
Go and brush up your cricketing knowledge or bat against Agarkar to make him happy. Probably you will help him to get wickets.
All the best Dear

In india you expect fast bowlers everytime to take 5 wickets on placid tracks?Which indian fast bowler has acheived this feat?atleast he was the fastest in getting the first 50 wickets?apart from kapil dev no indian fast bowler has acheived anything. Its very easy to critise anyone.

I was playing cricket at the highest level (not in India-fortunately- but at another test playing neighbouring nation) and am watching cricket played in all playing nations. when agarkar is the not the only one is to quit the team, he is the only one to get slammed like this by males and females who only WATCH cricket and not physically played or play. Priya, do you understand the difference between watching and playing my dear ??

After completing fastest 50 wkts; do u think he anytime given winning performance? Just check his statistics & support.
For you information, other teams will directly remove if anyone is out of form. But Indian team will back the players for atlest some time.
he has almost 8-10 yrs of exp in international cricket but check how he plays.. bull shit cricket.

Well u need to chk ur statistics properly. agarkar is that fastest indian to reach 150, 200, 250 wickets. its just that people only knows and remember him for his first 50 wickets.
for ur inormation the quickets to reach 300 club are
waqar 300 in 186 matches
mcgrath 300 in 200 matches
agarkar 288 in 191 matches.
so agarkar has 9 matches more to take just 12 wickets to become 2nd quickest bowler to take 300.
All these stats shows he is by far better than these new youngsters like RP, Balaji, Nehra, Munaf etc

Step 1: Chidiya pe brahmastra chodega (domestic matches) aur BCCI usko sher banadega.
Step 2: Arabian Sea ya Bay of Bengal paar hothe hi, sher billi ban jayega aur MEOW!!!
Step 3: Billi vaapas mumbai ke chidiyaghar mein interview dene lagega.
Uske baad, back to step 1.
To summarize, Ajit Agarkar is very much similar to W.V.Raman (Waste Venkata Raman) and Arun Lal. Umpteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen chances, but no results!!!

abey chup madrasi la*da. jaake kaaluram rajnikanth ki g*and saaf kar. tu usi ke layak hai. WV raman was the worst cricketer ever and most lazy fielder india has ever produced. don't even dare compare him with the 2nd highest wicket taker of india in ODIs.

10 years too long
by . on Oct 23, 2007 03:08 PM

a period to call someone as talented, promising and allrounder. One has to perform and fulfil his promises. But even after so many years, if one remains as promising and talented, without getting results on the field, then it is useless. Apart from getting fastest 50 wkt in odi, he has not performed to his promises and hype. had the same chances been given to other deserving bowlers, that player would have definitely improved his bowling ability.
