by rajesh t on Oct 17, 2007 03:30 PM

Who the hell is Ian Chappel to suggest to BCCI on how to look after their cricketers?I dont remember him uttering a comment when Mcgrath spat at Lara.I also dont remember him passing any comments when the uncivilised Aussie crowd made vulgar and racial comments on Muralidharan. He did not comment on the arrogant behaviour of Symmonds in the present series.Ian preferred to keep mum on the issue where the Aussie captain Ricky Ponting delayed the press conference in this series. And now he comes with these ridiculous piece of advice.
Look here Mr Ian,If the Aussies can sledge as a part of gamesmanship then everybody can do that to them.Either accept it sportingly or tell your players to stop this uncivilised culture of sledging which had been introduce by the uncultured Aussie cricketers over the years.
Anyway as for you Ian,we INDIANS will treat both you and your comments as CHAPPAL(SLIPPERS).
So Ian Shove your comments up your......

agreed Indians have overreacted to the Ausi players on sledging. But they are the ones who have started the game and have the history of notorious behaviour. They have lost the right and can not teach the world what is right.
Agreed Santh should concentrate on his bowling and not on his gimmicks. But first, the Aussi should ask the other ckt playing nations about what is their experience playing in Ausi.

Out of everybody, Ian Chappell???

First of all, no Australian is eligible to talk about behavior because they are the ones who invented the "art" of bad behavior on the field.

Where the heck is Ian Chappell when Aus team behaves badly?
It may be one or two players in other teams but whole Aus team is badly behaved, he should shut the hell up and clean up his own team before talking about other teams.

Shoaib and Sreesanth are not alike

Common Ian Chappell. How can you compare the two of them.
Shoaib is always causing problems to his own team.
Whereas Sreesanth at least seems to be sledging the opposing (Australian) team.
There is not one instance of Sreesanth fighting with his own teammates. It is very possible that Sreesanth is an erratic bowler, a very poor bowler at times, because of his crazy attitudes. However he is nothing like Shoaib, not even close.
Sreesanth may have cost India the match because of his missed catch and his poor bowling.
But please do not think for an instant that his behavior is anything like Shoaibs. Shoaib was getting into Physical fights with his own teammates. Sreesanth never got into any physical fights.
Also I think Sreesanth's heart is in the right place. Its just that he tries very hard to do things right and fails. He just needs to focus on his game and let the game speak for itself. If he wants to rattle the Aussies then all he as to do is play well and sledge them intelligently. Make fun of the Aussies when you have defeated them in the game and then tell them Sreesanth can play at their game too. But do it in a classy way so nobody can say you were crude of racist or lacked heart.

Hey 'King', Can you atleast have the courtesy to tell us what was the 'physical fight' you are talking abt between Zaheer & Sree ? If you dont know I will tell, Sree was not in the playing eleven and was the 12th man, he came to the rope to serve water for Zaheer after one of his over - and when Sree came close to Zaheer and gave him the bottle Zaheer told him to 'f o'. This happened before the 1st test win against SA - and Zaheer got a dressed down from the management for this.

As for pissing off Sachin & Sehwag - this happened in the last challenger trophy and on the field in the middle of the match - not in the dressing room. He was bowling against Sehwag and when he hit Sree for a four he just asked 'why dont we see this international matches', and also he gave sachin a stare when he beat him continously for 2 overs [ its also true that sachin thrashed him in the next 2 overs after that].

So dont try to put statement without any relevance, fatcs and figures. If you have anything against Sree thats your problem. But to make statements that he creates problem within the tem is the most FOOLISH comments i read in this forumn
