He has already been taken in the T20 team because he was part of the world cup winning team.

Interestingly, we won all the matches he did not play in the world cup and did not win any match (not counting bowl outs) he played in!

bowl out was not considered a WIN. It was just that shootout kind. That match was taken as a Tie.

Cut the crap of Mumbai Vs ROI
by Deepak Jagtap on Oct 09, 2007 04:28 PM  | Hide replies

I saw many messages crying over Mumbai's debacle Vs ROI. The comparison itself is unncessary & unfair. ROI is formed putting together the best players from State's Ranji teams. They were supposed to win, as they did.
Mumbai as a Ranji team is much better than all other ranji teams. Dont go overboard with the performances shown by Munaf & Parthiv. Munaf is big-time loser & will never be a srious & committed player. Since MS is at helm, Parthiv has no chance to make it to Team-India.

Very poor judgement about players. Parthiv was just 17 and was competing with all sr. players at that time. e never asked for sr. team selection, but seclected on his merit.
as a wicketkeeper he was not upto standard but batting was good. Now he 3 more years experienced and definetely improved. If considering the performance with the bat definetely he is the best batsman today during domestic as well as outside india (in India A team) and also against South Africa A team. As a batsman he can be considered purely on merit and definetely rank much higher than the present Dravid/Sachin/Sourav.

Parthiv got a chance at tender age of 17. But even during those times, he showed glimpses of his talent when in his very first test, he remained unbeaten against Eng (in English conditions of swing bowling) and saved India from a sure defeat (similar to dhoni's role in first test in eng 2007). He was hardly 17 then. He proved his batting abilities not merely on flat batting pitches of india, but in all bouncy/pacy/swinging conditions n also against the bowlers like Andrew Nel who is no mean.
Agreed, that time, he cud not perform to his potentials initially. He had some problem in his keeping during his initial period (but that bcoz, he was always kept outside the ODI team and was left without any practice), but that also appears to have been sorted out by him and imagine, he had been considered the best talent by ex-cricketers.
He has been consistently performing not only with the glove but also with the bat and even in the Opening slot (like Karthik) as well, scoring big 100s in India-A tours/Irani trophy. In fact his performance is such that even a regular batsman may be dreaming of scoring runs. I think he has also opened for India reasonably well.
Now he is a matured lad and real allrounder ability like keeper, batsman and opener.

Parthiv patel is a joker. He cannot glove the catches & stumpings so now hes trying to make up as batsman. He can be considered for India A team but not in India team.

Once again Kaif rubs Mumbai's wounds!
by Juzer H on Oct 09, 2007 04:15 PM  | Hide replies

2 years ago Kaif made Mumbai bosses see red when he motivated his UP Team to beat Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy Finals.
This time again his rubbed Mumbai's wounds by leading Rest of India in a great way, and hurting false pride of Mumbai bosses.
Kaif has proved that he is more of an Engineer or Manager, than a worker. He is a good motivator, and gets best performance from his team. And that's what matters these days. Team performance is rated far above Individual performances.
But, the selfish and corrupt politicians from Mumbai would never allow Kaif to grow.

vengsarkar is mumbaikar. he can not think beyond mumbai. just when we throw out motoo romesh powar and included murali karthik team won the match. we needed a fifth bowler who can spin the ball. when harbhajan was in team what he was doing. if not murali karthik then piyush chawla could be in team. kumble is out of the team just because of mumbai politics. they do not want to see a senior player in team who is supporter of dravid. they pressurised kumble to sit out and then they included agarkar and powar. sheer regionalism. and this vengsarkar was against this regionalism before becoming chief selectior. ha ha ha ha ha what a shameful person. when agarkar was shown the door then only we could win matches in south africa. now when we have shown the door to powar we have won the match in chandigarh. now the third one mumbaikar tendular tried his best to make sure that we do not win but god has something else in his mind. so you all can understand now if we want to win the series whos turn to shown the door?

Sachin is God of cricket. No other batsman bradman can match his calibre. We won last odi because of his fluent batting. Knows how to read situation & bat accordingly. Critics shld understand this. And yes, Agarkar is the match winner we need.

It was team performance that won the match for India. Dhoni and Uthappa's quick runs and great all round bowling performance by the bowlers played a big role in the victory. Other batsmen contributed, too.

Yeah fuent batting 79 runs in 20 overs. He should got to Gilchrist, Hayden and Symonds coaching classes to know what is fluent batting. in fact he was out for One run. It was becuase of Umpire error he scored runs almost at the cost of Team Indias victory.
