Mr. Gavin,
I read your column 'Talking back won't annoy Aussies'. Are you a spokesman from the team or from Australia. You don't seem you've responsibility to talk to sensible. If Australian cricket team is trying all the ploys on the cricket ground, then you are trying off the field. Yes, even I agree that some of the Indian media, exactly like you, are destroying the spirit of the game. Whatever you guyz are doing may pull the crowd to read/see your documentaries. But, ultimately it's not good for the cricket.

I know that everyone has the right to talk or write. Please don't waste this right in indulging ugly war of words. Rivulry on the ground is OK. But, it's not welcomed off the field.

I hope you understand this....

Vijay

Talking back
by shreela sashital on Oct 20, 2007 10:14 AM

The fact is that talking back has annoyed the Aussies. As to their series win, 4-2 is not a resounding win against India. True, they are champions, but we have to remember that the game at Nagpur was narrowly lost and the one at Hyd was close. The gap is definitely narrowing.

Zaheer found out the hard way- glaring!
by Srinivasan Krishna on Oct 19, 2007 07:39 PM  | Hide replies

I just remember the first over bowled by Zaheer in the 2003 SA world cup Finals! He beat Gilchrist n a fewoccassons with good deliverie, bounced afew and thought he could get under their skin by glaring and talking.

Waht happened is history.

they justpummelled Zak and team to powder, with scores of over 350 runs!

The only way to have won that match, would have been to bat first, which ganguly stupidly in a day night match gave away after winning the toss. The next would have been to hold line and length, in bowling which we lost it by the onslought by irritated opponents.

Along with Australia, SA, England, NZ ( all white skins) rejoiced!

So, what are we famous for- i mean Indians?
Our tenacity and persistence folks!
We have to wear the Ausies down, down under.
Glare away, bit of banter should suffice.
Sreesanth type ( which reminded me of Zak in WC finals) agro is stupidity.

However, very unfortunately Sree santh has ccrated for himself a persona, which i doubt if he can live with for the rest of his career....

Indians speak of Emotions
by mallika sastry on Oct 19, 2007 01:37 PM  | Hide replies

Problem is Indians speak of Emotions not of Brains. Thats what Mr.Gavin trying to tell... Its pity to see responses like these..one should take positive points from his biiig lecture and just ignore which is not required..Let our players realize what they can perfectly do and get their own ways of winnings...plz Don't Boost / disgrace them with every match..Let them do their work perfectly and dont put pressure on players always expecting them to win

What "Mister" Gavin is saying is Aussies are noble and everyone else is foolish.

He conveniently forgets how Aussies taunted and made fun of a NZ batsman's sister who had died in a train accident...

...Aussies are thugs, they have had a problem in every country they have played in and they thought they will come to India and bully every Indian player and fan(!). Now after finding a fitting match, they are running to their mommy (Malcolm Speed).

thats precisely what the wise aussie is trying to say .. Hes written a nice piece full of analysis trying to hit us where it hutrs the most . & you rather than replying to it even wisely , think stupid aggression will do the job
For me the best part of the article is the LAST PARA .Its typical aussie ..hes trying to compliment us for being the Richest board & etc etc something we like to boast about .But this doesnt necessarily reflect in good performance is what hes trying to imply ;rather rub it in us.

Aussies are envious of the attension Indian sports starts are getting...They are no way good sportsmen.

by Nilesh on Oct 18, 2007 11:00 AM

Mr. Gavin, I know how good you people are when it come to proove you right. No body has doubt that Ausi team is better side when it comes to playing with bat and ball NOT in their behaviour. I think Indian players have restrained themselves lot in talking back. Ausi have kept mum in this matter because they see lots of money in India in different form. Agree with me????????????

Australians are good players but are they good humans?
by krishna gupta on Oct 18, 2007 12:37 AM  | Hide replies

I agree that Australians are a better team than India at the moment, but so were west Indies at a time, but they did not behave like australians. I may be wrong..and I hope so..but does that kind of behaviour has something to do with the fact that about 25 percent of Australian population has its origin from the criminals who were deported there from Britain during convictism?

indian racism at its purest form

mate aftre the Asian Tsunami , It was the Aussies who spontaneously enacted a benefit game for all affected regions , as game that was a huge success . Even the sri lankans who had never been too freindly with the aussies were grateful. & what did our own RICHEST CRICKETING BOARD do ?? nothing
