why dhoni and yuvy are never citicized
by raju on Oct 04, 2007 12:26 AM  | Hide replies

are they holy cows? why r they never criticized like tendulkar? pity that greatest enemy of tendulkar is his greatness itself. if he was another player like yuvy or dhoni, he would be pardoned for most of his faults.

Tendulkar is truly a great player, but he got couple of problems now. He is trying to recover from the bad patch that he had during Greg Chappels time. Greg demoralised the players like Tendulkar. He consistenly claimed Tendulkar's peaks are over. A good coach encourages the player and points out the weak areas, but this guy is such a bad coach so he was a disaster to Team India and to Tendulkar.

Tendulkar can still play like the Tendulkar we know, it is just people have to believe him and above all, Tendulkar has to believe in himself. I think Chappels comments on him has done the worst damage and he find it difficult to recover.

Boss (Tenzing),
Greatness of a player is on his mental strength. If SRT cannot recover mentally from a few comments from Greg, he is not that great to be begin with....

First of all even sachin admits he cannot play certain shots that he used to when he was young. but, even a 50% performance by sachin can destroy any bowling attack. Moreover sachin still plays pretty much the same way. Juz look at his performance in the whole english tour(SA included)it was tremendous and typically sachin type. So dont worry about his mental blocks and things like that. Sachin is too strong a player to be affected by comments from morons like greg chappel. I guess nowadays he plays more according to the situation

Raju,
Everything comes with a price tag. Greatness too.

Greatness generates expectation and that pressurizes the greats. How long he wants to carry this "greatness" burden?

Yuvi & Dhoni has told on NDTV Show that Sachin is GOD for them. It takes very special things for the Heroes (UV & MS) of many to give a person place of GOD. Lord Ram is target by some idiots Sachin will also go through such debate.
Hindu God always goes trough such Battle whether it%u2019s Shiva, Ram, Krishna%u2019s Baba etc
Media is Playing Big role in targeting Sachin for cheap Publicity & TRP .

I'm not quite certain about their fantasies, friend, but they surely do not think of sex the way guys do!! So, here's a tip... its a matter of the heart... of winning her heart and not winning her to bed ... - or even whining her to bed! (now tis is not an appropriate discussion forum for this but you sounded desperate... so,.... well, don't write about something like this in a sports forum nxt time)

Lalchand Rajput
by raju on Oct 03, 2007 11:01 PM  | Hide replies

This clown didn't even do anything substantial for India in intn'l cricket and was kicked out after 2 or 3 inspid performances. And now he has the guile to talk about future of Indian cricket.

I think a new law should come in Indian cricket where only former players having played more than 20 tests and 50 ODIs at a minimum should be allowed to give their views on present Indian cricket team.

oeeyy Raju,
You don't have to be a great player to be a great coach. I give a lots of credit to Lalchand for the 20-20 success. This guy, along with others is staff and Dhoni, had every detail figured out in 20-20 tournament. Take an example of bowl out against Paki, Lalchand was out their with his notepad, going to through stats and picked the perfect bunch for the bowl out..

u mean a great man manager. a coach needs to have certainc ricketing skills too and i doubt lalchand has any.

he is another of those clowns arranged by maratha man pawar for short term purposeand just got lucky with the T20 win.

when is india going to get a professional coach again?

Raju,
You generally have very good comments, lets stay away from the regional crap.

I tell you what, he has more then enough cricketing skill as he made it to the Indian national team. I tell you I get impressed with some of the analysis posted here by some of the bloggers. I doubted most of them have even played inter-school cricket. Lalchand is the professional coach, he just happened to be an Indian without a celebrity status..

Greg Chappel was a great cricketer but did pity mediocre job as a coach of the national team. Flecther and Buchanan weren't the great cricket but proved to be a better coach. I am not sure you follow NFL, but Ballichek of New England is the greatest coach in NFL but never played in NFL...

not trying to compare lalchand to chappell (i personally thot chappell was a har*mi) but chaeppell atleast had a vision though he failed in it. he had a professional support staff like frazer. lalchand is more like stop gap arrangement. i think india shld hire a professional coach by end of the year who shld be given some targets to achieve in the next 1 or 2 years.

Isn't Rajput a professional coach too? Do you mean to say a coach from foreigh country with a proven track record in the International coching? If yes then I agree with you Man, but at the same time I am just trying give credit to Rajput for his contribution in teams accomplishment.

If you see a coach, who is using notepad or laptop it doesn't mean he is a good coach. What India need is a coach who will be respected and who can educate and discipline the boys in the dressing room. Infact Srisanth anitcs is a result of a coach who hasn't got control over the boys. We don't need a idiot like Greg Chappel who can demmoralise players like Tendulkar calling them old. Infact I will differentiate Tedulkar Career in 2 stages before (Coach) Greg Chappel and After Greg Chappel. What Greg did is demoralised most of the Indian players by publicly critcising their weakness. He can be the worst nightmare than can happen to any team

Tenzing,
I agree and I think Lalchand did enough for his team. He has proven track record in the local cricket as a coach. He was new as Dhoni the captain, and they pulled India through 20-20 tournaments.

Now back to your opening statement, "If you see a coach, who is NOT using notepad or laptop mean he is NOT a good coach." Such things are the important tools for the Modern World coaches..

Offcourse anyone who hasn't got the management skills is a bad coach. Notepad and Laptops are back bone to be a good manager, they are tools to be more effecient. I don't know much about Lalchand's skill as a coach. But I don't think Internally players are seeing him as Coach. Couple of days back Yuvraj gave an interview and he mentioned that Team India needs coach. What it means is Lalchand is probably treated as a manager, rather than as a coach.

My point is a coach should be a personality who will have or earn his respect from the team and certain level of authority in the team. A coach job is to lead the team behind the screen. And a captain's job is to lead the team on the field. In the previous case Greg Chappel wanted to do both. He probably thought Team India is running on his head, that's why it was a disaster. The next disaster that is happening to Indian cricket is, he is consultant for Indian cricket. Do you believe that? what a shame.

u (as a coach) may b having skill technique n knowledge but u may not b showing those things on ur own while actually implementing the traits while playing. reasons can b anything like power of ur reflexes, eyesight, fitness, etc.

India goes down meekly to Australia, while Pakistan is busy receiving a good asswhooping from South Africa.
Meanwhile Sri Lanka dismantled England with much ease. Hard to believe SL is the smallest war torn country out of the three.

Mister, now also start beleiving that Aus is the best team out of all three. And it is test cricket being played in Pakistan while oneday cricket being played in Ind and SL. And England is a bad oneday team atleast away from home. Learn to think deeper before putting 2 and 2 together to make 5 just to grab some attention!!!!

Hmm...Isnt Aggression supposed to be scary? Sreesanth gets more tickles in tummy than fear. His theatrics overpower his quality. When Nell or Lee grimace and stare after a fiery spell of dot balls, it makes sense. But when Santh does it bowling a yorker after three wides, it is amusing.

I am sure you did jump, if you didn't then I suspect you are not Indian. And there is no fluke , especially when a team wins consecutive matches. Even the game that we lost against Kiwi's is a close game.

I agree Sreesanth's antics are beyond aggressivness, but I see it as being immature, straight from school.

Regarding Aussies you need compete with them in all 3 department, batting , bowling and field. We got batting. and out of 5 bowlers , we have two weak bowlers and out of 11 fielders, we got 5 weak fielders. So only a miracle can save India in this series

dude is winning all that matters to u and are u watching only indian cricket teams performance or the game as a whole.... just because u end up on losing side doesnt mean u dont play ur natural game... if sreesanth is an aggressive player then why should he change himself... he is giving team his 100% and that is what matters... and while india was bowling do u expect sreesanth to know or anticipate that india is going to lose... when u r in the field makinng a fool of ur self for team's win is ur contribution.... think about that bro... n dont just criticize... support the GAME...

Winning does not matter always. But their is a thin line between agression and silliness. What he did to symonds and hayden( in T20) is totally unacceptable. We can compare him with Mcgrath in terms of behaviour, even Mcgrath never did like this after taking a wicket. He should learn a lesson.Did u see yesterday's match.Dhoni was totally ambarass in field and he intervenes everytime whenever Sreesanth did his jokergiri.
