Shridhar Venkat Iyer
Pace bowling Dept for India
by Shridhar Venkat Iyer on Jul 15, 2007 08:44 PM  | Hide replies

We have seen RP Singh, VRV Singh for quite sometime, and they have not been performing well at the international level. Pathan was removed, due to his poor bowling performance during the last couple of years. The selectors can't be blamed for this.

We have seen Ishant in Bangladesh. He has not done a great job there. We have seen Bose for the first time against the England Lions recently. He has also not performed well in English conditions. However I feel they should be given some more chances before we conclude anything.

As of now, I personally feel Sreesanth, Zahir Khan, Munaf Patel, and Agarkar will have to shoulder their pace bowling Dept for some more years, before they are relieved by some new faces who can perform consistently. I think we have no better choice than this as of now.

With best wishes,
Srinivasan.

irfan needs a chance
by naresh sreenivas on Jun 28, 2007 08:14 PM

Surely Irfan pathan needs a better deal than given to him. just being dumped like L balaji. he deserves another chane. India is trying out 2 many things. Pathan was a force few months agao and few bad games has already shown him out of the Squad. Selectors are a real bunch of jokers and assholes---politics

let him playb
by pankaj choudhary on Jun 23, 2007 11:28 AM

i would ask all you guys to just let him play.
now everyone is saying how good he is,when he is still about to play,and if he by chance plays bad,you all will be cursing him and saying he didnt deserved a place in the team.
this is same story always,all hype no substance,the boy is young,let him adapt to higher level,jus leave him alone

I hope this kid does decently & if he doesnt he should get 1-3 chances after that. If he doesnt perform he should be sent back tothe domestic track to work on his game.

Oh being a vegetarian isnt really that great. My dads friend is maybe over 200 pounds where as my dad is around 160. Just cause you are a vegetarian doesnt mean you are better. It depends on what else you do. Normally non vegetarians are better players, look at the australian team.

The writer says the bowler is obviously very fast,how fast,maybe 130 kmphs per hour,what can this vegetarian do in pace bowling,play for a season or 2 then break down forever,like Laxmi Balaji?
