indian are losing 80% of matches from last 2 years due to lack of proper bowlers. indians dont have any single bowler in standars of Mcgrath,Brett Lee,Vaas,Shane Bond,Pollock,Murali. Both fast and spin departments lacks good bowlers.

still anilkumble is better bowler and he defenietly one among the list you given, ya i agree we lack in fast bowling dept, hope pathan soon come out good, he is a defenite match winner for us.
We made a mistake by selecting Bose/Sharma etc. We have to select bowlers who bowl faster than 140kmph period. They will get line and lenth later. We need to get that Kasmhiri bowler in team. Eleven Mc Grath used to bowl fast and later slowed down ... Munaf was supposed to be Baruch expreess or something I hardly see him bowl faster than 132 same with VRV such a good physique and all he does is 130 . Unless we have 140 plus bowlers we cant poslish tail .. these days Agarkar is the only one who seems to bowl faster than 140

You are absolutely right! India has always lacked in bowling department, the story has continued for the last 40 odd years. We have not been able to produce a single world class bowler in those years. The best so far was Kapil Dev, but compared to other international bowlers of those days, he still lacked the penetration, then it was Sreenath, who till the very last match of his career could not bowl to the specific line as McGrath. Our bowlers have been too short, too wide and not to mention too expensive. Our spinners also have never been upto the mark either, as can be seen from their dismal performance overseas. The saddest part of Indian bowlers is that, they have hardly won a match when the batsmen have failed to put up a decent total. A new lot of bowlers do not seem to have a mind set to win the matches. As compared to other top teams, our bowlers can not finish the opponent's tail with deceptive yorkers, short suddenly rising deliveries, some outswingers, in sweengers etc. Most often than not the tail is able to produce some decent batting performance in the last overs! Unless these things are sorted out Indians will always be underdogs oversas especially against the top teams!

many people critisized the seniors due to one WC performance and expected more new and yougsters to play, but now you see how our new bowlers bose and sharma bowling here, forget about good bowling, they just even could not able to stick to basics, so many no balls by sharma yesterday, if agarkar was there in the test squad, our pace attack would have been much stroger in these conditions, he always bowled well in eng and aus. iam not blaming these new comers, but experiance matters.

Right...but even if they dont bowl fast they must have line and length ...Mc Grath is a dream but somewhat like him...

I agree. If we have even one bowler matching the speed of Bret Lee or Shoaib, then the present lot of bowler will prove more lethal and will grab more wickets.

fast bolwing is all not about bolwing fast. accuracy, good line and length is the key of the day. macgrath is the best example. He got wickets even when he is bolwing 110-120 KMPH with gilcrist standing at the wickets.
I urge to the cricket fans, please stop discussion on cricket. It is not worthy to have any concern from your type of wide knowledge persons. You are discussiong for those players who do not care for cricket and only care for money, advertisement contracts from multinationals. Indian cricket team is not a team. The same has been reported by chappel and the selectors.

Then why the hell you are coming here and putting your foolish messages? If you really NOT interested dont come here and wasting our time. Everybody in this world is working towards money, what about you? Are you a saint, not LOOKING FOR MONEY..? CRICKET IS CRICKET and if you can love, love it or leave it!!
There have been hurried remarks from certain readers about Indian Team now playing in England. Too much expectation from the National side always bring such reaction from some people who normally are those who have not much experience of playing cricket in the field.
It is true that Indian bowlers are not having good time now especially tailenders from opposite side batting frely against them. People should understand the fact that even the might Australians when they toured NewZeland last got good beating from NZ lower order batsmen. Aussies went down meekly in all tests. Usually tailenders play freely and in unconventional style against bowlers which makes it sometime very difficult to get rid of them. Such display should not lead to insulting bowlers as pathetic or poor. South Africa had bowlers such as Pollock, Ntini, Hall etc but during last tour to that Country how our bowlers VVR Singh, Harbhajan and Jahir Khan made them toil at the end of the innings?.
Results of tour matches should not be compared to Tests where true batting and bowling shall surface. Let us not condemn our players. We will comment only after the series is over when results are before us.

No need to wait for the end of series. It is understandable that under the leadership of sachin tendu defeat of india is 101% sure.

Indian cricket is heading directly towards trash. It is not goin to get of it. we would only and only beat teams like bangladesh which is a big task after seeing the joy and celebration the bunch had on beating them. i pity those who support indian cricket team.people should appreciate talent not show offs.

DID SOME BODY ASKED YOU WHAT YOU FEEL???? KEEP IT WITH YOURSELF AND ......
Bowling is absolute pathetic...and our people dream of beating Australia with such rubbish bowlers...tail enders are hitting centuries against us...shame on bowlers...they are responsible for losing 2003 WC finals...
We have a tendency to blame our batsman everytime we fail. Bowlers are the real culprits 90% of times...batsman fail 5 out of 10 times....but the bowlers fail 9 out of 10 times...bowlers need to perform otherwise we cant win tests or ODI's againsts good teams...
Due to impact of One day Cricket Bowlers are bowling good in patches and are unable to give sustained performance. Also they bowl 1/2 loose balls in an over that relieves pressure on batsman. Field also becomes defensive. Also in this team Only zahir is experienced and Shreeshant and powar are good. Sharma is experienced and did not bowl well, so sachin was to only 3 bowlers and hence colud not maintain pressure. To add Shreeshant was not at his peak. This is always danger when we do not have quality 4'th 5'th bowler. It is very important to have 1/2 good all rounders. Chappel tried to develop Irfan into one but failed and both lost their jobs.
RE:India unable to wrap up tail
by S.Prasad on Jul 14, 2007 09:56 AM
Warm up matches are less important except for new bowlers and batsmen. We have done a wrong thing by not giving sreeshant enough rest as he has to bowl again from 19th onwards. Zaheer and sreeshant will always look for fitness instead of perormance in these warm-up matches...Let us hope our batsmen could be used to these conditions.
i firmly believe that, there is nothing serious with our bowling line up, see this is a warm up match,no one have to worry about our bowling, yes our bowling is bit mediocre the thing is it's hard to accept that a bowler hits century something has to be done but it happens in ever game for ex take vaas from srilanka and gillsepe frm austraila,if u ask me instead of giving chance to the new player's in the first test itself, ask them to wait till the time comes i'm not telling that we should n't give chance to the tyro while playing against english people we should give but when our team needed see we are alread having rp singh, sree santh, ramesh pawar they are also tyro,as far as i"m concerned this is not the right time to experiment.we have veteran spinner anil and to support him we have tendulkar, yuvi then in pace department we have zaheer with experience in the english conditions and ofcourse rp singh and sreesanth could swing the ball better and last but not least gangly will rock in these conditions so we dont have to worry about our bowling, our batsmen have to do some miracles with the bat,we have 50-50 chance but the thing is once you lost the momentum then there is no point in crying over it.

by Lalatendu Deo on Jul 14, 2007 09:19 AM
You are Day-Dreaming. We need a complete change-over on Men and their Attitude before we may be able to say that there is "nothing serious we will prove in batting". Otherwise we will have to be content with those One-In_Hundred Success Rate
