WHEN HE WAS AT HIS PEAK, THE TEAM DID NOT SUPPORT HIM WITH PERFORMANCES. INDIAN CRICKET TEAM HAD BEEN AN ONE MAN ARMY,... MANY A TIME.NOW THE TEAM IS PERFORMING, BUT HE HAS LOST CONTROL.SHALL WE ANALYZE WHY?...
FIRST OF ALL, ONE THING IS FOR SURE. SACHIN IS A LEGEND! NO ONE CAN DENY THAT. ONE THING THAT HE HAS FORGOTTEN IS THAT HE IS A STRIKE BATSMAN, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER SO CALLED STRIKE BOWLERS. HE WAS, AND SHOULD BE A DOMINATING BATSMAN. THAT'S WHEN HE EXCELS. HE SHOULD START ATTACKING THE BOWLERS LIKE HE DID IN THE MID 90'S... AGAIN. HE MUST TRY TO WATCH HIS OLDER MATCH VIDEOS. HE WOULD DISCOVER WHAT IS MISSING THESE DAYS FROM HIM... GUTS!... YES GUYZ "GUTS!!!". IF HE REGAINS HIS GUTS, HE'LL BECOME UNSTOPPABLE AGAIN. HE SHOULD THINK ABOUT... MAY BE, SOMEONE LIKE JAYASURIYA, WHO STILL MAKES BOWLERS AFRAID EVEN IN HIS AGE OF 37! WE INDIANS ARE SO PATRIOTIC & GET UNITED ONLY WHEN CRICKET COMES AS THE COMMON SUBJECT OF TALK. CRITICISING ONE LIKE SACHIN WOULD BE NOT FAIR TO OUR MOTHER COUNTRY... OUR NATION GUYZ. SACHIN TOO LOVES OUR NATION LIKE US AND HIS ONLY GOAL IN LIFE IS TO BE PART OF A WORLD CUP WINNING INDIAN TEAM. BUT AS I SAID BEFORE, HE HAS TO REGAIN HIS GUTS AND HIS BEST FRAME OF MIND WHEN HE HAD BEEN BEST IN THE MIDDLE DURING THE PAST. TO REGAIN THAT, HE NEEDS OUR SUPPORT!!! LETS PRAY TO GOD. HE'LL SIT IN SACHIN'S MIND AND GIVE BACK THAT COURAGE, GUTS.... WHICH HAS ALWAYZ BEEN THE LITTLE MASTER'S TRADEMARK...! U R WELCOME AT ssbsiva@rediffmail.com.

There is no doubt that Tendulkar has done a lot for the team in the past and we must recognize it and treat him with the respect he deserves. But his performances in the last couple of seasons have been poor, clearly not meriting someone with a secure place in the team and nowhere near the performances of people like Ponting, Vaughan, Younis, Chanderpaul, etc.

So, the selectors really must look at dropping him. When Segwag was around, you felt that we would lose his wicket cheaply. You get the same feeling with Tendulkar.

A tricky part for the selectors is dropping Tendulkar and Segwag was the one dayers. Both a valuable as spin bowlers, to fill the 5th bowler slot. Would we prefer a 5th bowler or prefer Tendulkar bowling spin and batting a bit? Perhaps thats why Tendulkar may continue till the world cup.

Lets face the fact
by Rahul on Jan 25, 2007 09:36 PM

Ok guys lets grow up and face the fact. To win WC or any match we need a winning formula. A combination of aggression and experience. Sachin was a good player in past and its time for him to go back to same old school where Ganguly has been and get his basic form right. Our selectors are sending wrong message to whole nation by appointing Sachin as Vice Captain. Sachin doesn't deserve a place in team same as Sehwag and to some extent Dravid. Who cares if 2 liabilities are blocking youg players like Karthik and Rabin Uttappa.

TENDULKAR FAILS
by raghavendra prasad on Jan 25, 2007 09:34 PM

No doubt Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest cricketer ever with most of the records with him, but it is high time that he should also feel the heat of performance review..if he cant perform ...please make way for others who can do ...please let him regain the form ..till then let him sit out

Great Sachin
by Krishan Saluja on Jan 25, 2007 09:29 PM

No doubt we fail in South africa because of two greats Scahin and Dravid. But we should give this team more time as now we are not in a position to rely on other players and check their potential.

sachin and india
by Pranab Bhaduri on Jan 25, 2007 09:25 PM

How odd that we have to stick to scahin for sooooooo long even when he does not know what to do when he comes for batting -- it's a lovely dance that we are seeing for a long time now insteade of batting , and then his gesture showing his surprise at getting out.Happy dancing Sachin! This is India !!!

When we talk about words best performance.the
player of the team who gives maxmimum results
may be kept in team.non performance must be treated as a failiure of an individual.

we are more responsile for sachin bad performance
by santosh singh on Jan 25, 2007 08:55 PM

why each failure of sachin causes a flood of criticism. yesterday nobody played well. neither ganguly nor dravid. ganguly was out twice in his 13 run inning. but why stories started running on all news channel and website abt sachin failure. why not abt other players. is it the way in which a player gains confidence.

sachin tries to play lofted shot, failed and a new row of criticism started. now he won't dare to play arial shot in next 10 inning. then we will start criticising him saying that sachin is not playing in the way he used to play a decade back. if he don't play in the same way aren't we ppl of india responsible for that. I think we ppl and bloody media are more responsile for sachin current performance than sachin himself.
