Chappel must be an uterly confused
by Indra Sengupta on Jan 22, 2007 11:09 PM  | Hide replies

Chappel must be an uterly confused man by now! His premises of belief are shaken!! Remeber what he felt and talked about Saurav.

Those abservations are no longer valid.

He had to digest the chief selector playing as a super coach.

Now the slap.

He never imagined such a day perhaps. He talked freely about our politicians, showed obnoxious jestures towards the spectators and yet enjoyed the supreme confidence of all around him.

Nothwithstanding all these slapping the man was really deplorable.

There are other ways of proving him wrong.

The way Ganguly did is one example.

Anyway let us feel for this man suffering humiliation in an alien land just for few bucks!!!

Laws
by Abhay Karulkar on Jan 22, 2007 10:58 PM  | Hide replies

The BCCI should pass a law for deducting 75% amount of payment being paid to the players of the team for lost matches. And Rs. 2 lacks fine for dropped catches or stumping. In and out of team must be for all players. No point for bleming coach instead of players who r interested more in advertisements then cricket.------- ABHAY kARULKAR.

As long as the fans are there for the cricketers even though they do not make runs for long time, this Ad making happens, and loosing matches also happens. People wants their favorite player should be in team all the time. I pity them.

Deplorable
by Dr Sukdev Nayak on Jan 22, 2007 10:23 PM  | Hide replies

I am sory for the event. There is nothing heroic or religious about the incident. The guy under cover of Kalinga Sena has disgraced Orissa and its rich value and culture. Debasis and Sibsankar may have shown good cricket even better than some of the national playeres. It is the fault of the national selector, Chapple has little role in it. I think the BCCI and national selectors should be more impartial in future.
Sorry Chappel.
All the best to you
Sukdev

For a change let the australians know that the Cricket Fans here are AGGRESSIVE than their cricketers.......as they always come up with a reason saying that their cricketers are aggressive when humiliating everyone around!

..and we will continue to get the services from others, but never learn to do things ourselves...thats us.

Link with Ganguly
by Shekar Pendem on Jan 22, 2007 09:54 PM  | Hide replies

I don't understand why do you blame Chappel for Ganguly incedent.. If anyone really wants India to win the matches then, you should remove the cricketers who are out of form.. this is applicable to all the players in the team irrespective of their seniority. Don't you think so? If a top order player is not scoring runs morethan 30 for morethan a year, why should he be in the team.. recent example is Sehwag. why cant they go to domestic cricket and regain their form?
Needless to say about Australian team in this matter.

I don't understand why people always link Ganguly when something happens with Chappel. This guy slapped Chappel because Orissa players were not included. That is nothing to do with Saurav Ganguly. And if you are talking about form, then another God needs to be excluded from Indian team and I know you will not like the name as you are also blind to that guy like most of the Indian cricket fan. That guy is Sachin Tendulkar. Who scored 280 Runs in his last 10 one day innigs. So be logical and then answer. And you can't deny Chappel's hand for not including inform Ganguly for last 6 months atleast. By the way Chappel got the job because of Ganguly, whereas Sachin, Kumble and Dravid were srictly against him.

Yes, whoever a senior or a junior has to leave the team if they are not performing up to the mark for certain amount of time.
To be frank, Chappel tries to get best performance from the players. In this process who have to loose some players, at the same time we will get new players.. and old players also may return to the team if they still have stuff.

ridiculous
by Rahul Kulkarni on Jan 22, 2007 09:41 PM

This incident is shocking....The coach, if involved in the selection process can select players only on merit..If there are no Orissa players who are good enough what can he do?? There is no bias towards players from any state..After all Debasis Mohanty and Shiv Sundar Das, both from Orissa did play for India...As far as my following of Orissa goes it is mostly a hockey playing state having contributed star players like Dileep and Ignace Tirkey..does that mean people from other states should go about slapping hockey administration officials to include their state players in the national team..This incident is deplorable..

Bad Remarks
by on Jan 22, 2007 09:20 PM

I seriously dont support most of you. We should not humiliate him like this. You should think who is responsible for all this. If he was not fit for the job why the Indian cricket management still keeps him as a coach. If you need blame somebody or slap someone choose somebody from BCCI.

And where did the secularism go when hindus are emptied in kashmir.?

my dear nitin
what you need is an education and maybe some time in a mental asylum will help you. the two of the above incidents are disgracing and insulting, not only to all the oriyas like me but to all the humans on this planet. this article is about india's cricket coach being humiliated and not about australians or any religion. yes we(ORIYAS) are not cowards but we are not goondas either. the person responsible for this sad event should be punished severely. maybe a few days with you in a mental asylum will help you both alot. respect and you will be respected is what we oriyas are taught and not to behave like uncivilised barbarians.sorry mr.chappell...and my dear nitin its VANDE MATARAM

This is ridiculous dude! I can't support this incident. Orissa has a long cultural background which doesn't fit with the people like you. Kindly don't link Ganguly's name with this. He is brave, practical and always fight for injustice. He not only fights for him, but for other junior players too. He fought his own battle and came back. And all the true cricket lovers of India salute him for that. He didn't need bengalis to go and slap Chappel (although Mr.Chappel showed his middle finger to the bengal cricket lovers), which they could have easily done.
And coming to Graham Stain's story; dude you seriously need to go to the psychiatrist for check-up, who shows this kind of attitude and support the incident. Think about it, if it happens with your near and dear ones (Wish it never happens), how will you feel? Think seriously and then talk about it. Shame on you man!!!!
