Gagully and Zaheer could sharpen their skills further, two left handers - two shinning stars.

Amol has played many great innings for Bombay, but has never been considered to play for India. I do not why ! Assessing his talent now does not make sense; he was at the crest for a long time.

Let selectors choose players only from Mumbai. At the same time let UN arrange for public opinion in India whether the states in India will go for autonomy and liberation like Yogoslovia and Czeckoslovakia. Let India disintegrate. Bengal, Mumbai Karnataka etc will play ODIs and tests amonh themselves in stead of Ranji Trophy.

This discussion is now defying any logic. I admit that Mumbai has been a powerhouse for long. But that does not mean that they are champs for ever!!! The final was won more on the merits of Zaheer Khan, who is not originally from Mumbai. In fact, this was his debut match for Mumbai!! People seem to have conveniently forgotten that this year, Mumbai had not scored a single point in the first three matches!!!

The point that I want to make is, let us not come up with strange demands like "making the Mumbai team the Indian Team". Let us look at the positives and move forward.

What are you talking ? Over the decades Mombay has been producing good cricketers, playing good cricket and winning matches, like Bengal has done in football, Kerala and Punjab in sports. Why are you cribbing, dear ? Do you know that great sprinters in the world come from Jamaica ? There is some tradition, and one need to understand and respect. One needs to be sportive to appreciate sports.

Kudos to Mumbai!
Well played Bengal, becoming runners up in Two consequent years.
They proved that they are defeated but not a 75 run side, as claimed by Mumbai.

Ranji Final

esteemed sir,
In fact it had been a very tough contest in the last two innings of both the teams. bengal made a very good start but the tailenders failed to continue the attack. Despite Saurav's crucial knoch of 90 the bengal lost the match becuause of the poor play of the tail enders. At one stage it seemed that the bengal team would win the contest, but the last five wickets had fallen for just 6 runs.Any way congratulations for Muzumdar's team for winning the title for the 37th time.
