If you think 4th innings is the most important innigs of the game, then you need to do 2 things -
1. Understand the game of crikcet, I don't hink you do.
2. If you can't, go and invent your own where only 4th innings is played.

And yes, if the "Final' thing is the only important thing then please explain as to why do they build the Foundation first before they build the roof. Unless you have invented a new way of building then please share it with us all.

It is said we are our worst enemies. You certainly prove it.

First of all,you want Sachin to win matches for India when the team is in touble, right? what would you definitely define as trouble? Indian team is in trouble only after Sachin gets out. That is precisely why he takes so much pressure knowing that no one can play after him and that itself brings about his downfall most of the time. apart from the Pakistan test match where 5 wickets could not score 16 runs and that too in a test match, I also remeber so many one dya where after Sachin got out , the rest of the team could hardly score any runs, all of a sudden the wicket becomes unplayable! hOW COULD ANYBOBY FORget all India's past records? The minute we had 4 wickets down, we would be suddenly all out within 12 or 14 runs. Can anyone forget the relaince world cup semifinal whcih we lsot against Srilanka? Sachin and sanjay manjrekar gave a good opening stand of over a hundred. It was a low score which India had to chase. After Sachin and Manjrekar got out after playing beautifully, suddenly no one could score even one ren. Th entire team collapsed in 20 runs or so. I can still remember Vinod kambli crying on the kolkatta pitch! Now when you talk of sachin bringing the team out of difficult positions remeber that the team is not in difficult position till he himself gets out and this adds to his pressure because he is not confident of others delivering the results..

I just want to remind World Cup 2003, if we haven't forgotten it. Please try to remember our 2nd match in the touranment against Aus. We just made 125 runs.Though we lost the match badly, I just want bring this into picture that it was only sachin who offered some resistance to the Aus attack. It was because of sachin we would reach finals. I agree that he didn't perform well in the finals but then what about 10 other players in team. Why couldn't they perform well on that day. STOP blaming sachin for everything. They are 10 other players who are equally responsible for India loosing many final matches. Every match is equally important as a final. If you can't perform well in preliminaries how can you reach finals.Try to use bit of common sense before making such stupid statements. Also try to respect our players for their efforts. It's easy to talk but difficult to perform. Try visualize urself as a player playing for a country like India. Probably then you will understand how it feels to read such things sitting other side.

I am not a great fan of Tendulkar. Still I believe he is a great player. He is the best one day player India has produced and won many matches for India ( At Sharja against Australia, and at last world cup against Pakistan are few examples). Only of last 3-4 years, he is not in great form. However people want to compare Tendulkar with Lara, Ponting, Steve Waugh and then want to see their countryman as the best and when that doesn't happen try to criticise Tendulkar badly. Criticism at Tendulkar should be looked at this way.
Looking in proper perspective, as mentioned earlier, he is still India's best ODI batsmen, and definitely one of the best in world. May be he has not won single handedly from a loosing position like Lara or ponting have done, even these people do it once in a life time and tendulkar's Innings at Sharja against Australia is definitely one such Innings. When it comes Test matches also he is a fine batsman, may be Dravid with his match winning innings at Adelaide, Headingly, and Kingston may edge him out as the best test batsman. But he is still one the best in test also. Only draw back for such a great player is he is yet to give dominant match winning performance like Dravid did in foriegn countries. But tell me other than Dravid who has done it for India consistently and also one should not that whenever Tendulkar played a good Innings, other members of team let him down. In Australia this does not happen. That is why Ponting is part of many wins.

I am not sachin worshipper, but let me tell u against pakistan in India, in the 4 ininng when all batsman got out on extremely turning wicket even paki batsman could not play well on that track in all 22 players only sachin played that in 4th inning an made century, although india lost that match not because of sachin sachin took india to the verge of victory. but other players could not support him and india lost.

though sachin isnt in d habit of playin big knocks in d 4th innings of a match, he has often given big partnerships which hv set up d match for india. moreover, his big knocks in d first innings has often helped india manage innings victories. 86 centuries and over 25000 runs dont come frm a bad player. wid his bowlin and battin both, he has won mny odis as well as tests for team india.

A player is NOT classified as GOOD or BAD with a performance on ONLY 4th innings. Its as silly as evaluating a player with his First ball or last ball. You should also think, If Sachin fails in a good chase, then why does the WHOLE team fail?

veer singh ji, you are absolutely right that sachin has not done what was expected from him while chasing a total. but can you tell me in last ten yrs which team has the weak tail order than indians. while you are chasing it counts how strong is the lower order. it gives confidence to the top order. it is not one man game show. it is a team game. i can not forget an inning of sachin at chennai when pakistan team has come to plays test series after a long time. we were chasing a total of about 270 odd runs but top order failed. only sachin keeps the hopes alive. he made a century and got out when only 16 runs were needed. but our 5 batsman could not made 16 runs. then again blame comes to sachin that he has not finished the match. what you people want? he is not god. work. this is not fair to target only sachin. before sachin cricket was not that popular in india. i remeber the matches when sachin got out people shut down their televisions.
you must keep one thing in mind that sachins shoulder was injured. so he was quiet hesitant to play pull shots. this is why he was not looking aggressive. after that he was suffering with tennis elbow injury. some how he has recovered. when your body is not fit you are short of confidence. this is what happenned with him. but now after recovering slowly and steadly he is picking his form. inning in vadodra will help him to gain confidence. in last six months i too criticising him, because he was not playing the aggressive game. now when he is looking improved. i think we should give him a chance. without sachin, you can not imagine this team is going to win world cup. so why we should not support him so he can get his confidence back. regards

Hey Sachin,
As a true admirer for years & being a Mumbaite, i would first of all like to congratulate u for yr winning effort.
But my main concern is that u don't often play in this fashion against teams like Australia,South Africa, New Zealand???
& also u r a big failure in the second innings. U can c the statistics with yr team's Computer Analyst.
We want Sachin to perform at any given place in the team & hope to get to the semis & then with the same killer instinct , try to win the World Cup for India.
All the BEST!!!

Hi all,

This is what we hear from most of SACHIN'S CRITICS

1.Selfish

2.Scoring Against weaker Oppostions

3.Failing in pressure situation

Let me give u more info about this

1.Selfish

Well Records are meant to be broken and if Sachin is breaking them critics[haters more rightly] can't digest them..
One of the incidents people mention is regarding his 194 knock against pakistan..some said it was slow knock..agreed it was a slow knock by Sachin's stature, but if it is compared wid one of the knock wid Dravid...this will not look as bad it seems..
Tendulkar- 194 runs in multan with a strike rate of around 54
Dravid- 217 runs in oval with a strike rate of around 46

I m just taking one example to tell that Dravid's natural game is to hold the one end and let the others to dominate..in multan Sachin changed his gears and holded one end and he let sehwag to dominate..played Rahul's role in that innings. Now this is called team game.. but people call it slow batting and selfish... Sachin always said Team's win is more important than personal landmark..He proved this statement in that very test by taking Moin Khan's wicket off the last ball of the 3rd day..That Ball was beauty!!Wasn't he happy at that moment??? Since Sachin is the most senior player of the team so he can't throw his wicket just to prove critics that he is still a master blaster...[he is still scoring at brisk rate in onedays]..People forget his fast scroing Centuries against world class bowling

169 [201 balls] against South Africa in 1997 at Capetown
92 [120 balls] against West Indies in 1997 at Bridgetown
155 [191 balls] against Australia in 1998 at Chennai
79 [ 85 balls] against Australia in 1998 at Kolkata
100 in 123 balls against NewZealand in 1999 at Wellington[he scored 113 runs in that inning]
155 [183 balls] against South Africa in 2001 in Bloemfontein

There are many other breath taking innings in tests from 10dulkar.

But everyone please note this down..Sachin is the Only Batsman in Test Cricket who scored 3 Centuries wid a SIX
179 - 6 off Walsh[I remember it was a hook shot] against WestIndies in 1994 at Nagpur
124 - 6 off Min Patel[off spinner, straight down the ground] against England in 1996 at Birmingham
113 - 6 off Wiseman[off spinner, straight down the ground] against Newzealnad in 1999 at Wellington

Critics says he plays for his records and centuries..Now just look to this..

One Day
Centuries- 39 [out of 39 centuries India Won 28 times and lost 10 times,1 century in a rain affected match ]
10 centuries gone in Vain..
Half Centuries- 72

now here is that intresting part

out of these 72 centuries Sachin got 28 scores of 80 and above
in these 28 scores if we take out the innings in which he was not out [coz of over completed or target chased ]
he was 5 times not out in such innings
so now lets talk about remaining 23 innings
Can u believe he has 10 scores of 90's??? If these 90's were converted in 100's the stats looks likes this
Centuries-49 just one short of 50 ODI centuries... and look he missed another record for those who have so much fuss about playing for records..
getting out highest numbers of times in 90's in ODI's ..just coz he wanted to score for the team and not for the his personal records he got out 10times in 90's

Test
Centuries- 35 [12 in which India won,15 in dead tests,8 in lost tests ] lone warrior in tests which India lost
Half Centuries- 41

Intresting Part
12 scores of 80
6 scores of 90's convert them in 100s..he will pass 40 centuries in Test Cricket..sad for critics he played for team and thats why couldn't converted these 90's into 100's

2.Scoring Against weaker Oppostions 19/07/2006 08:50
This can happen in India only..
People remembers 152 against Namibia and forgets 98 against Pakistan in WorldCup
People remembers 248 against Bangladesh and forgets his 7 centuries against World Champions Australia [4 in their own den]..
Only one century against Bangladesh and share the honour of scoring test century against each test playing nation wid Dravid,Ponting and Garry Kristen...No one talk about other 3 batsman scored centuries against Bangladesh..then why the fuss for Sachin??

Test
Australia - 7 Centuries [4 in Australia], 2 of them at the age of 18 in 1992
Bangladesh- 1 Century [Unfortunately his highest score in Test Cricket]
England- 6 Centuries [4 in England],
NewZealand- 3 Centuries [1 in NewZealand]
Pakistan- 2 Centuries [1 in Pakistan]
SouthAfrica- 3 Centuries [ all three in South Africa]
Srilanka- 7 Centuries [4 in Srilanka]
WestIndies- 3 Centuries [ 1 in WestIndies]
Zimbabwe- 3 Centuries [ none in Zimbabwe]

90
96 against Srilanka at Banglore in 1994
92 against West Indies at Bridgetown in 1997
97 against South Africa at Mumbai in 2000
90 against England at Banglore in 2001
92 against England at Nottingham in 2002
94 against Pakistan at Mohali in 2005

Intresting Part
He scored runs in all parts of world..There are three types of wickets u generally found in Cricket..Fast and bouncy Pitches like in Australia,South-Africa,NewZealand,WestIndies,Spin tracks in India,Srilanka,Pakistan, and seeming tracks like in England. Today people talk about Ricky Ponting...now check this out

contd 19/07/2006 08:51
Sachin's and Ponting's average at their own home soil is above 55 so nothing to discuss this here, but the real part starts now
Sachin's average in Australia 54.15 , 4 centuries
Ponting's average in India,12.28 , no centuries

Sachin's average in England 71.60 , 4 centuries
Ponting's average in England 42.63 , 3 centuries

I am taking records for these countries only bcoz.. rightnow, best fast bowlers are from Australia, best spinners are from India,Best Seamers from england[as there is no choice bcoz only england have such pitches]
Anyone can take easily tell who played gud cricket against best attack on all kind of pitches...

One Day
Australia - 7 Centuries 1 score of 90's
Bangladesh- 0 Century
England- 1 Centuries 1 score of 90's
Kenya- 4 Centuries
Namibia- 1 Century
NewZealand 4 Centuries
Pakistan- 5 Centuries 4 scores of 90's
SouthAfrica- 3 Centuries 1 score of 90's
Srilanka- 7 Centuries 3 score of 90's
WestIndies- 2 Centuries
Zimbabwe- 5 Centuries

90
90 against Australia in 1996 at Mumbai
91 against England in 1997 at Sharjah
95 against Pakistan in 1998 at Dhaka
93 against Pakistan in 2000 at Hobart
93 against SouthAfrica in 2000 at Nagpur
93 against Srilanka in 2000 at Dhaka
98 against Pakistan in 2003 at Centurion
97 against Srilanka in 2003 at Johannesburg
93 against Srilanka in 2005 at Nagpur
95 against Pakistan in 2006 at Lahore

Intresting Part
Only 5 Centuries against minnows like Kenya ,Namibia[non test playing nation]...and Kenya was the semi-finalist of the world cup'03 10 scores of above 90 against only test playing nations...now can anyone tell me how is he selfish?? 34 times he scored more than 80 and couldn't reached 100..If he played for his records..he could easily scored 100's all of those scores above 80's ...

Ponting- 177 7245 145 47.98 18 45

In Test
100's in Tests India Won - 12
100's in Tests India Lost - 8
100's in Test Drawn - 15

Holds the record of maxium number of 100's for loosing team...That means a lone warrior..Thats why once Indian Cricket Team was called as ONE MAN ARMY!!!!

More Intresting Part!!!!!!!!
Often said Sachin gets fail at crunch situation...Well 1st we must admit that when Sachin on the crease Win is sure...As soon Sachin gets out..the situation becomes crunchy!!! Sachin is out,now who will win match for us?? Dravid ?? or Sehwag?? or Yuvraj?? Or Ganguly?? No one sure who will win match for them...
So bcoz of this thing Teams targets Sachin as the most precious wicket...
Nasser Hussain introduced Negative lines for Sachin Tendulkar to stop the flow of runs when he is on wicket!!!
Local umpires also involved some times to help their team against Sachin Tendulkar, espeically Australians!
Some incidents striking in my mind...I think Sachin is the player who got out maximum numbers of times bcoz of bad or wrong decision by Umpires..I m producing those incidents only which I remember, there may be many other too

1. 92 - out of a NO ball from Frankline Rose against West Indies in 1997 at Bridgetown..Remember India lost the test just by 38 runs..U can just imagine how much that bad decision effected the result of the match!!!

2. 83 - Out of a NO ball again..[don't remember the bowler] last test in WestIndies in 1997.Draw Test.

3. 67- LBW off Crains..last test against NewZealand in 1999, was not out coz the ball pitched outside the legstump.Match Drawn

4. 61 - caught at forward shortleg, bowler Shane Warne.against Australia at Adelaide in 1999.. the ball touched the thigh pads and Umpire Darel Harper gave him out.. India were 107 for 4 when Ganguly joined Sachin and they put on 108 runs for the 5th wicket..

5. 0 - LBW bowler Macgrath..against Australia at Adelaide in 1999,same test, nothing more to say..Everyone remember that FOOLISH decision

6. 52 - LBW bowler Shane Warne,Umpire David Shepherd, against Australia at Melbourne in 1999, were chasing 356 as a target on the fourth day.

7. 45 - LBW bowler Macgrath,UmpireIan Robinson, against Australia at Sydney in 2000, the ball seemed to hit him too high and was going on leg stump, In that very over,Tendulkar had pulled a short one from Macgrath for two,and hooked the next two for boundaries, and a ball later punched the fast bowler back past him for the 3rd four of the over

8. 16 - caught behind off Waqar Younis, against Pakistan at Perth in 2000, it was must win situation for India to qualify in the final , scored 16 runs of 9 balls, hitted 3 fours in one over of Waqar Younis and 1 off Wasim Akram on the fastest pitch of the world,India were chasing 260 odd runs...

9. 0 - LBW bowler Gillespie,Umpire Bucknor, against Australia at Brisbane in 2003 funny thing is that the bowler not applead for the LBW... MR.Bucknor gave the decision of his own

10. 0 - caught behind off Lee,against Australia at Melbourne in 2003,ball touched the thigh pads and umpire given him out.

11. 54 - caught behind,Umpire Bucknor, against Pakistan at Kolkata in 2005, I think we all seen that decison, theball was not near to his pad,gloves,helmet,arm.. no where...

There may be so many other incident like this...Teams like Australia taking help from the umpires to stop Tendulkar... the 1999-2000 tour of Australia proves it..

THIS IS THE ANSWER TO ALL WHO HATE SACHIN TENDULKAR

And the last thing is that Sachin played 11 years [1989-2000] in the era where his own team mates involved in match fixing.. So despite of his brilliant knocks we failed to win the match just bcoz others not contirbuting..Yuo can win ODI's just wid ur own batting but u can't win test matches wid one innings bcoz test played for 5 days its a 4 inning game..Still Tendulkar's record in that era is Awesome.. and remember The awe of opponents was as great as that of crowds. But the finest compliment must be that bookmakers would not fix the odds - or a game - until Tendulkar was out.

Cheers!!!!!!

I just want to add one thing for the critics. We always loose (For the matches we lost. Others never play good enough to win) and others loose (for the matches we won. We never play good enough to win). So we are always in a situation where we either find faults on why we lost or we never give credit to people who win games for us.

Regarding Sachin
by Anil Singh on Feb 01, 2007 03:02 PM  | Hide replies

I am apprecieting for feeling of all indians. Sachin did the good job, so all have been in favor of Sachin. Just would like to ask, whey Sachin is not doing well , when team need his knowck. This happened , because Opener did a good job, and given him a good start. All innings of Sachin, if you will keep in mind, he never did good when we need him really. If he did not do, that time, there was other players for doing the same(Yuvi/Dhoni/Pathan....). Why Ricky ponting is doing well in every match? Lara is also playing good in pressure. Why Sachin is not doing well in do & die match?
That is the question marks, so Really Sachin should be out from team , if he is not doing good in 2-3 matches. In that case, he should be out for rest atleast for one match.

THERE ARE MANY OTHER PLAYERS IN AUSTRALIA WHO TAKES PRESSURE OFF PONTING BUT THERE IS ONLY SACHIN AND OTHER INDIAN PLAYERS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS AUSTRALIANS. MY DEAR FRIEND, LARA WAS ALSO OUT OF FORM FOR A LONGER PERIOD IN PAST. LOOK AT RECORDS AND YOU WILL FIND THAT IT WAS SACHIN BECAUSE OF WHOM WE AT LEAST REACH FINALS OF LAST WORLD CUP BEFORE WHICH WE INDIANS WERE SO FRUSTED BY THE PERFORMANCE OF TEAM INDIA THAT WE ATTACHED HOUSE OF KAIF, BURNT POSTERS OF PLAYERS. IT WAS SACHIN'S KNOCKS WHICH SET MOMENTUM FOR US IN LAST WORLD CUP TO REACH FINAL.

Hey Anil some thought, do you know what happened after rahul and sachin got out in the 3rd odi? Indian team collapsed lost last 7 wkts for 36 runs.

When sachin does bad you criticize him (agreed) when he does good you dont appreciate (ok) but criticize him (dont agree). Some advice for people like you.

"some people COMPLAIN they don%u2019t have enough TIME to be happy, yet they find enough time to be sad? Not really. You see, their deplorable plight has nothing to do with having sufficient or insufficient time. It has everything to do with complaining. After all, complaining is the negation of happiness. It%u2019s impossible to complain and be happy at the same time.

So, beware of that insidious disease known as %u2018negativitis%u2019 (negative thinking). It is as pervasive as the common cold, but far more damaging. It mutilates, cripples, and corrodes the human spirit."

Those days when India reached totals of 150 sachin would have scored his century. Why you people are crying for Pathan/yuvi/raina/Dhoni and alll...how could you compare someone like sachin with them??? The fact is you expect century from sachin in every match. Sachin has impressed you so much that ur expectation level has come to the extreme.Co'on yar....realize the facts....41 centuries......and ponting/lara...delivering in every match???ru kidding? lara himself went away from cricket and told media that he had enough at one point of time?????open your eyes and ur heart wide open...for yourself.....world knows how good sachin is....he doesnt require any reassurance..his figures talks about the genious in him......god bless you

This is exactly like hrithik bashing that the press had indulged in when his movies flopped when in most of them he did not even have the main role...It is just that we expect too much from Sachin and others can just go home and collect theri fat pay cheques. the only person who used to really try hard to win matches esp after schin used to get out in ODIs was Robin Singh. Can you recall any other batsman who has won mtaches for India on multiple occasions when Tendulkar got out? Yuvi and Kaif on a couple of occasions. Also, let us not forget that Australia had one player with an exceptional record of consistency with an average of over 50- I forget his name, he was actaully responsible for most australian wins, not Ponting, not anyone. In fact he is not in the team since last one year or so...

Please see the records before passing judgements. And do remember that he has batted long enough to know when to play and when to stop. Dont try to teach him.

Genius is born now and again i.e. Sachin Tendulkar. He is the run making machine but some time his batting line up is totally quiet. May be he is in dubious mind that which type of batting should be applied. Due to dubious mind he don't understand which batting style is suitable for him.

After all Sachin is Sachin and he always paly like a attacking batsmen and should be play like a attacking batsmen it is good for him as well as country also.

We love and Salute him AND PRAY FOR HIS BATTING THAT MAY BE FLOURISH LIKE ME BECUASE I AM ALSO LIKE A HOLY GANGA RIVER.

My best regards to Saching Tendulkar. I like him very much after Kapil Dev.

Sachin MOM. !!
by paradise city on Feb 01, 2007 02:51 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin MOM. bah a great deal!! In this type of Batting pitches !! what happen to Sachin in South Africa. How many MOM did he get in South Africa. The greatness is bestowed upon such players who can scored consistently in any kind of pitches that also under pressure. A fine example is Michael Beevan, Kevin Petterson. They may not receive as many MOM as Sachin does but they do fight till the end. Look at kevin petterson playing for England. Most of the time he alone scores all the runs and he doesnotget rattled by wickets falling round him. As for Beevan everybody knows how he plays. I dont even remember the number of times he won matches for australia but he does not have the number of MOM that Sachin has. What does this tell. If Sachin had to come when India were 10/2 or something like that then you can expect his wicket within 30. Previously he was a one man army that I agreed maybe better than Petterson. But not anymore. NOw since he scored a century and we can now forget another such innings for a long time maybe until next year. He has now become such a player who once scored a hundred in batting pitches once a while and is also hailed as worlds best batsman by such idiotic fans. What a shame.
