I dont support this day/night idea in test matches. What better can be done to make it more viable is that if test match ended in draw then a analysis shud be taken by experts of batting/bowling/fielding of both the teams and the team which has done well will be declared winner, by doing these we will have result of all the tests and peoples will be more interested in it.

At least they can use light in the evening for 45 minutes or during cloudy weather. Otherwise batsman will get excuse for bad light and play will be stopped unnecessarily and minimum overs will not be played, especially in subcontinenet in winter. They are using light for day night matches anyways.
Yeah good idea for keep ing test matches day night because even bad light cant stop play and can play matches in cool breeze evening's and as well many people can watch matches B coz they will be off from work mostly in evenig and it will clikc for surely ...Good thought By mighty aussies

Yes. Otherwise batsmen will get excuses to go back to dressing room because of bad light. Instead of playing cicket players will find excuses not to play even if the light is not that bad. If lights are switched on then the crowd will at least get value for the money thay have paid.

No. Let it be simple and do not waste electric power and man power of huge amount by playing 5 day matches in night. People will be addicted by the way it is advertised and will be watching just for nothing.
There is no wrong in giving a try, Test matches are the best part of cricket, may be Test matches can regain its popularity by this day-night approach...but my thumbs are down for Test Day-Night but surely Give a try , you never know

save electricity. dont waste it on a waste like ckt. its precious in ind. n students in rural ind dont get it even for their studies.
There is no question of replacing a traditional test match with a day and night format. The main reason being, as the pundits are already aware of, the longevity of the cricket ball other than the traditional cherry. Instead, if the issue is only crowd-pulling, another version can be considered %u2013 a Limited Overs International %u2013 albeit a two %u2013 innings one. The first innings can be of 100 overs each and the second one of 40 each with the number of overs a side not completing its quota of overs in the first innings being awarded to the other side to be added to its second innings quota of overs. The entire match can be of three days duration with the white cricket ball being changed once after 50 overs in the first innings. Earlier the present ODIs were called LOI, but this term LOI can be used for this format of cricket. Or better still, it can be called a LOT, Limited Overs Test! Any comments, friends?
in india,in one day matches its hard to grip the ball at night..due to heavy fog ... then thinking of test cricket in night is waste ... then spinners are out of action.... this actual plan other than sub continent countries u cant play spinners welll....
